So is sub 100kg still on the cards or is that it now you’ve
‘peaked’?
I completely get and agree with increasing volume each week to
peak, deload then go again. I never saw the merit in doing it
whilst cutting though. Do you feel it makes a significant
difference? In my mind, overreaching could harm cns whilst in a
Calorie deficit and when intensity is lower it could speed up
muscle loss.
I suppose even the lower volume sessions of your program are
still meeting theoretical minimum volume requirements.

It's just peak week of this block. I'll probably still cut til
the end of this month I think then start my blast.
I've not stretched overreaching beyond this week and have
largely not done cns zapping exercises, altho going heavier this
block might have hit things there marginally more than usual.
Should all be fine and personally I like the Deload regardless,
I'm at an age where it can always be useful to take a step back
and it just a nice mental refresh too

'At my age' lol. You talk like you're over the hill but in
better shape than 99% of us!

Feeling more and more over the hill each week...parenthood isn't
good for aging
Deload week begins.... working intensity a little bit higher so
closer to a week 1 work rate but with an anticipated minimal
volume level. Starting weight this week is 102.4/6kg.
Leg Press - feet low: 10x80, 120, 160, 6x200, 240x12, 11
Safety Bar - Wide Grip - pause: 6x80, 100x9, 8
Hatfield Calves: 100x15, 13, 13
Hamstring Extension: x40, 70x15, 14, 14
Barbell Curl - close: 12x20, 40x10, 10, 10
Mobility done, feeling a bit tight today, looking forward to the
physio, really hope it can start to make a difference. Decent
start on the leg press got up to week 1s weight of 240 no
problem and repped easily enough. Just the 2 sets of work.
Safety squats moved fine, little tight on warm up but fine after
that. 100kg for 2 sets was fine, would have liked it to be a bit
easier but all good. Calves were easy tho, felt light so kept
rests short. Ham extensions rattled out no problem, did 3 sets
here (could probably have got away with 2). Finally some biceps,
not too worried about working harder than prescribed on these
but was probably about right anyway.

Had to LOL today BTW... with all the work going on in the gym
ATM to fit the new AC units there was only 1 available bench for
BP work. The gym owner and his Mrs were using it and a group of
3 lads walked it also wanting to bench. They'd only just started
their session so invited them to work in..... ALL 3 'POWER
RACKS' (which they both insist on referring to as 'squat racks')
WERE AVAILABLE TO USE BUT THEY COULDN'T USE THEM. I reckon the
range of working weight would have been between 40-150kg -
completely worth working in with LOL

have they actually ever given a reason for this absurdity?
bending bars maybe?

Oh yes..... well, no... but yes. The 'reason' is because they
have 2 flat and 1 incline bench for benching in, so you can't
use the 'squat' racks. I'm on board (to a degree) with not
wanting rack pulls done on them etc but benching makes no sense
at all. And if your 'reason' is because you have benches, if all
but one are out of commission the that reason is now invalid and
you let people use the racks.
Hit the 101s this morning, 101.8. Feeling a bit more mobile...
probably due to cycling like a madman home in the rain last
night.
Flat DB Press: 10x15s, 10x25s, 7x35s, 40s x10, 10
High Cable Flyes: #5x12, 12
Hammer Machine Press: 50x16, 11
Tricep Dips - Deep: BWx .... still sore, assisted -32.5x14, 13
Cable Extensions - Single: #2+2.5kg x12, 12
Barbell Wrist Curls: 60x18, 15, 13
Got thru my mobility a bit better this morning than yesterday.
Started with pressing this morning, dodgy shoulders don't like
working chest pre-exhausted I think, the way this morning went
kind of confirmed that theory a bit. All moved well, stayed
cautious on my top set seeing as shoulders have been acting up
but had no issue pushing out a couple of 10s on the 40s, all
with good tech. Cable work felt no harder or easier for it, an
easy couple of sets of a dozen reps with no niggling issues.
Hammer presses were nice, dropped down to 50 and got my reps up
a bit. As all had gone well I had a pop as some BW dips but
there was a pain over the top of my shoulder, used the assisted
one and got on fine. Cable work was nice and easy, bit lighter
but comfy and solid and then some quick forearm curling to
finish off with.

I forget mate did you end up having your upper back/neck looked
at or has it sorted itself?
Or has the shoulder issues just overtaken the back issues lol

Solid work as always.
Your knee sleeves always appear quite a loose fit in videos. Are
they a loose fit or is it just how they look?
