       Calf Wars

No training of any kind for 13 weeks :-[ due to an accident.
Right wrist still in plaster and will be for at least 4 more
       weeks.
My left thumb was broken but I have use of it now, left index
finger knuckle is FUBAR and may require an OP/ replacement.
On the plus side, my knees aren’t as sore as they were and the
       deep muscle bruising has gone.
Time to actually do something. I have been running what can only
be described as a reverse recomp over the last 3 months. Loads
of muscle wastage in conjunction with serious fat gain. Body
weight is the same but waist has increased by 2 1/2 inches
whilst quads have lost about that. Left arm had lost 1 1/2
inches and I don’t want to talk about the loss of the right arm
having not even lifted a toothbrush for 3 months. Think
       spaghetti!
Now that’s out the way it’s time to think positively and get
back to some kind of routine.
I’m planning on training legs 3 times a week just for fitness as
much as anything. I don’t want to cut calories yet because I
read a Calorie surplus can aid bone fractures.
       Single leg split squats
Body weight 4 sets of 10 reps
Calf raises on 2 20kg plates
Body weight 3 sets of 25 reps
I intend to leave sets and reps where they are and add weight by
       using my dipping belt.
Also some very basic shoulder raises and arm curls self
       regulating the muscle tension.
It’s hard writing that having gone from weight training 3 times
a week, running twice, swimming twice and cycling once a week.
It’s all part of the healing process though so I will start from
scratch and see where I end up n

Cheers bud. That’s the thing I’ve noticed most about myself. I
have really been on a downer but I want to return to being more
       positive from here on out.

Training for a triathlon. On March 2nd I was cycling through
the New Forest at about 25mph. The road was long and straight
and visibility was great. An oncoming car decided to turn right
which caused me to smash straight into him (well technically him
into me). Head through the windscreen job and I summersaulted
off down the road. Hit his front left wing, mirror , windscreen
       and roof.
Battered and bruised everywhere but luckily only 3 fractures and
       ligament damage to both hands.

Sorry I did chuckle at the reverse recomp comment.
Glad you are up for a bit of training though mate. Don't worry
about the muscle loss it will all come back very quickly
provided injuries allow you to train.
You will be back to your beloved cardio in no time! ;)

       Day 2
This is turning into a habit
       Single leg split squats
Body weight +1.25kg 4 sets of 10 reps (1.25kg increase)
Calf raises on 2 20kg plates
       3 sets of 25 reps BW+1.25kg (1.25kg increase)
I intend to leave sets and reps where they are and add weight by
       using my dipping belt.
Also some very basic shoulder raises and arm curls self
       regulating the muscle tension.
1.25mg increases across the board. I’ll need to be a bit careful
as I don’t want to get too big!
