After the insanely hot girl that I saw arrive just as I left the
gym yesterday I may have to start bringing contacts more often!
😁
Jokes aside though I think it does help when feeling a bit
deflated. I will keep it in mind in the coming cut.
It’s been hard to bite my lip at times but it definitely is for
the best. As happy as I am now and life is so good, I do miss
the boys and I still feel like I have abandoned them, despite
having them over 2-3 nights a week. The flip side is I feel I’m
much calmer and focused on them when they are there, which is
something I struggled with when living at that house.

Had a relaxed weekend and postponed training by one day, so I
was well rested. Warmup felt strong and despite the busy after
work period I was able to move largely unhindered. There were a
few young lads carrying on a bit when doing 30kg DB press
singles, but they went soon quiet when I started repping the 47s
on DB press, almost closing that tenth rep! Held it halfway for
a good 3-4 seconds but just didn’t have any more to give.
Shoulder press is building well making full reps on this new
weight. Even tri ext felt pretty good although I did have that
usual pain in the elbow, but doesn’t seem to be getting worse.
Pull-ups were all solid reps focusing on the squeeze at the top.
No sign of the lat pull I’m happy to report. Rows were the real
surprise pulling +3 out of the bag. Even though I checked I
still wonder if it was misloaded LOL.
Leg curls normally I would increase these 1.25kg as they are
slow to build but took a chance and upped by 2.5kg without too
much issue. Leg extensions added 2.5kg partly because last time
I got 19 and I usually get returns on these, but mostly because
I couldn’t be bothered chaining on a 2.5kg plate today. Finally
got to calves and someone was using the smith so decided to call
it a day as I needed to get eating and sleeping as I’m up at
4:15am tomorrow.

Day off today so the plan was to drop the g/f at work then hit
the gym. Bit short on sleep and body feeling a bit worked but I
was determined to have another stellar sesh like the recent one.
I’ve picked up an injury in the last few days in my hip, feels
like I’ve pulled something between the upper leg bone and the
hip. I was a little worried it might impede training today but
turns out it wasn’t an issue at all. RDLs were solid with the
new rep moving well, not grinding. Sled hacks did demand 100%
effort but I also gained a rep here. At the end of these I
realised I forgot my new trainers again. Bumped up a little
weight on calf raises. It’s really the top of the movement that
is hardest and what I need to keep working at.
Pec dec wasn’t the smoothest reps at the end with front delts
burning a bit, but pecs were certainly on fire. Uprights saw
more focus to the leading of elbows and keeping that left
shoulder locked as the trap does take over a bit. Rope press
downs again were the big winner with gains across the board.
This does make me wonder if I’d benefit adding a few sets to
biceps too. Lat pulldowns I clawed back two of the three reps I
lost last time due to having done rows first. Rows continue to
build well and the little weight increase on spider curls was
well received.
Off to collect the shopping and have a bit of lunch before
picking the boys up from school, prep dinner, pick up g/f,
soccer training, showers, cook dinner, dishes and get the kids
to bed before I can finally sit and chill. 😁

You can't tease me with a comment about new trainers and not
elaborate... I'm a trainer whore. With all the trainers I have I
have started thinking I am at an age where I have so much
useless, unnecessary stuff that I can probably justify buying
proper gyn trainers (and other kit!).
Funny little niggle that, sounds like the sort of thing that is
probably kept nicely in check down the gym but I bet if you
tried to push off and run it would put you on the floor.
Certainly hasn't got in the way of today's session tho.
Your evening sounds like mine... mrs is rough so I finished
work, hit the gym and I've now got to prep my food, cook our
dinner, prep her food for tomorrow (cos she's rough), clear up
and put away have a bath and maybe get an hour to chill before
heading to bed for a 6am start (where hopefully I won't get
immediately wound up by the evening crew tonight doing fvck
all).

Haha they are nothing flash. Just some asics I think. They are
great for support.
I’m very minimalist and don’t have a lot of stuff. My preferred
vice is video games but as I have nowhere to keep a PC I have
splurged this last year and bought a few Lego kits. Getting in
touch with my inner child LOL.
Yes it is an odd one. The heavy legs sesh seemed to help it in
all honesty. Still not right but it’s getting there. Think it
happened just getting out of my chair at work. Must be getting
old!
The plan was to cram it all in that day so I could have the
afternoon off today. And so I have! Which is precisely why I
had time to reply on this forum on a non-training day! 😁

Lego, awesome, I'm definitely getting old because I often find
myself thinking a jigsaw would be cool LOL obviously there is
nothing cool about jigsaws!! I don't have much 'stuff' but I do
have trainers and watches beyond what I would ever need.
Welcome to the age where just waking up can be a high risk
activity LOL
So no training to log today, you're only here for the small
talk... it is only you and me tho so I don't know how well I can
drag this out!

Haha unfortunately small talk isn’t my forte! I ended up
watching ‘prey’ which is a predator movie if you haven’t seen
it. Been on my list a while. Was ok maybe 6.5/10.
I’m actually keen on doing mosaic. I have a vision once I get a
house of doing one whole wall in tiled mosaic but a photo
converted to maybe 5-6 tone colour. You don’t see that every day
and I think it will be very striking if done right. Big project
though.
It’s Lego for now 😁

Worked in a different part of town today. One of the chain gyms
was nearby so I hit that straight after work. Fortunately they
all use the same equipment supplier so it didn’t put me out too
much. No 16kg KBs though so I did a few reps of the 20kg
shoulder press in the warmup, being careful not to end up
wearing it as a hat. Pull-ups went well -just didn’t quite close
that last rep, just on the verge of being not countable. The
green band was also looser at this gym so I lost a few reps on
the secondary set too.
Rows were golden, even the last rep was well versed. After the
set however I did notice a slight pull in the left hammy. Onto
the inclines. Kept the warmups the same but didn’t attempt the
47s this time instead opting to rep out the 45s, which despite
struggling to get them in setup position I cranked out a
respectable 9 reps. Spent a little time looking for the 20s
(this place is big!) but once found got stuck in to DBSP. JMs
added a few keen reps- triceps have been building well lately!
Slightly different leg curl machine but I eased in gently not
wanting to make the ham worse. Turned out quite well adding +3
reps but it may be due to slight nuance with this machine. Leg
ext added a small plate and reps were solid enough. Smith was
being used so I finished off with some seated calf raises. My
dad lives not far from this gym so I headed off there for a
shower, feed and cup of tea before heading home for some much
needed rest.

A mosaic could go wrong and that would do my head in seeing it
every day.
Saw prey a while back. Recently watched blink twice which is
actually alright.
Handy that you can swap gun and use the same kit, do they have
the same issues with their hack squat sticking tho. Not always
easy to train somewhere else and actually improve legitimately
on numbers
