I used to quite enjoy double pausing DLs
Enjoy? Is that really the right word? Mind you this is the
same man that "enjoys" high rep leg work. And I'm the man that
"enjoys" getting punched in the face. Fuck it we both need
help.

Bloody love paused deads, IMO one of the finest deadlift
accessory lifts. Paused against bands even better!
That last pause, just hovering off the ground is killer but
these feel the best out of any deadlift variation I've done. I
will have to try pulling against bands as I've never done that.
it might be a bit much to add it to this already Frankenstein
variant though. You know I'll have to try regardless.
I'm pretty much going to keep deficits as my main deadlift.
They play on my weak points and should make regular height feel
like a rack pull (or at least I hope so).more

Cyber incident at work in early hours so instead of getting out
and getting some squats in I had to go to work and and deal with
a shit storm. How its that a fair trade off?

I've been thinking about how to work the tyre in. Ideally I'd
like to do a trial run first as I don't know how much noise it
will make, that's a big factor with am training. On the grass
near my garage should be ok. It weighs about 230kg but I've
stashed a few more car tyres in there which puts it up to around
250kg so it's a baby really. In competition the heaviest I've
had to flip is 350kg for rep. However, I've also had a crack at
a 500kg which was insanely hard.
Do you have wall? You only need to get the tyre vertical, so
lift it up till it leans against the wall, then you can kick a
smaller tire under and lower it down partway under control(nice
extra negative work for the shoulders!) Rubber against rubber
should make minimal noise, could even fold an old carpet on top
of the small tyre for extra deadening
