If you want to get better at a lift you have to do that lift
with greater frequency, certainly greater than 1x pw.... so that
change should be a huge step in the right direction

Yep, deads' have gone from once to twice a week and everything
else has gone from 1.5 times a week to 2 times a week.
Couldn't sleep and was up until 3am mulling over a future
business decision.
Woke at 7am so was pretty knackered. Picked up by pops at 8am to
finish some work at the land. We had to rip up 150m of armoured
cable that we buried a few years back and then roll it up.
Bloody heavy going and my lower back was in pieces.
Just got home to be greeted by the Mrs telling me we were going
for a family bike ride. 2 hours off rode biking when all I
wanted to do was sleep.
Decided to get the gym done on return from the ride.
Luckily it was only heavy deads' and volume squats ......
Deads' 135kgx5
Squats 92kg 5x5
BORs 75kg 3x8 (didn't push these as lumbar was screaming)
Preacher curls 2 sets of 12

Awesome day! Make sure you rest up next one though!
I love that ‘knackered feeling’ at the end of the day when you
crawl into bed and just sink into the mattress. I actually laugh
out loud it feels so good lol. Next day is great too as you feel
a bit tender.

Mate, my office hands don't know what hit them. I have no issue
in admitting I couldn't work a physical day to day job.
I have the up most respect for you guys.
The majority of my family were builders/ tradies and maybe if I
started in my teens or twenty's it would be ok.
The thing that hits me is all my family who worked in that
industry were absolutely bu66ered by the time they got to 50.
It's not an industry for the aging person and makes a mockery of
65/67 state pension age. Working until 67 might be ok for an
office worker but not for the guys and gals who have been
physically slogging for 45/50 years.

Damn agree with this. Few hours of gardeniungf can ruin me for a
day. But day of building slog - no way. Not happening.
Hows new plan treating you?

Yeah lot of grafters out there And it does take a toll on the
body. Family friend was a brick layer all his life, worked hard
paid off his house and even bought a little older Ferrari which
was his dream car which he only brought out on special
occasions. Finally retired and the strong muscles in his back
became weaker and that’s when he found his vertebrae was shot to
sh1t. Poor barstward just sits in his recliner now, doesn’t go
out much, can’t enjoy life and forget about driving his Ferrari.
Fvck ending up like that. Ill be steering all my kids away from
manual labour too.

I don't mind DIY but gardening I hate with a passion. Like most
strong people I'm everyone best friend when they are moving
house or getting furniture delivered.
