       Improve Sleep

My sleep has been shyte for years. Tried almost everything.
2 weeks ago I bought a new king mattress. Wasn’t an expensive
one at all (£280 free delivery ) but great reviews on Amazon.
Coil sprung with memory foam topper, ventilated sides to improve
       airflow so you don’t overheat.
I track my sleep every night with a smart watch and since I’ve
got the new mattress my sleep quality has improved massively and
I’m getting average of 90min extra a night (somedays even
2-3hours more). It’s incredible. (They say it takes a few weeks
to break it in and get your body used to it but my improvement
       was literally overnight)
If a sub £300 mattress is this good I wonder if £1k mattress is
       really worth it?
I should have done it years ago!

I'm sure many don't but you should replace your mattress every 8
       years IIRC

There's an old saying, I can't remember where from, but along
the lines of however hard up you might be don't scrimp on a
decent mattress and decent shoes since you spend so much of your
       life in both.
I can't speak on the shoes thing, but when my herniated lumbar
disk knocked me sideways in 2012 I laid out a small fortune on
replacing my crappy old cheap bed and mattress. The difference
was immediate and still going strong eight years later, best
       money I ever spent.

I bought an expensive mattress ( over £1k)
i found it to be worse than my new cheap one , got a full bed
with mem foam mattress for less than £380 and i'm well impressed
, although wouldn't mind one of those 1000 pocket sprung
       mattresses.
Biggest difference for me was getting a harder mattress , when i
lay on my front i get back ache which wakes me up, with a
       stiffer mattress its fine.

Best thing I did was get an orthopedic mattress at hard/medium
with a quantity memory form topper to temper standers at 2 inch
thick. This is the right combo for me. All memory would sent me
       on fire.
Another thing thing I have done is hang a thick blanket over the
curtains and leave a small space at the end on the windows for a
little light to come through. I then pull this blanket down in
the early morning went I wake as by bed is right next to the
window and go back to sleep for a several hours so I'm not
drowsy in the morning which could happen if the room is to dark.
