i would say the insurance company is in breach of contract. you
had an agreement with them and without notification they changed
it, therefore no contract.

had to chase this u with FCA and ombudsman
ended up with a £45 non disclosure fee, £60 cancelation fee,
about £40 TOR fee( time i was insured) I can understand that .
then they hit me by saying the original £488 quote was made up
from a £388 premium + a £100 set up fee so you guessed it I
don't get the setup fee back either so around 245 for 12 days
insurance.
They also canceled my insurance that day (3pm), even though it
should have been at 23:59:59 pm , but also billed me for the
full day . total scam company avoid!

Fvcking hell, that's a p!ss take..... I would still report them
for cutting your insurance off early etc. I'd do anything I
could after that to flag them up. Ar5eholes

yeah stuc it all in a mail to the ombudsman, rang the bank
kicking off asking them whey they let a company take money out
of my account without authorisation, they said we can look at it
, but if it turns out they where operating within the law it
will go against me on my credit rating (just months before
buying a house) so cant really afford to pursue that :'(

Sounds like it will be chalked up to experience mate.
I hope you do a review at one of those online review websites.
Hopefully it will stop someone else making the same mistake! :(
