       Prostate growth from steroids
By: Brett Date: September 24, 2019, 9:10 am

Let’s assume all the innuendo and smart remarks have already
       been made in this thread.
Given that using steroids often has the side effect of prostate
growth do any of you get yours checked?
I believe typically men over 50 get checked. Something I’m not
       looking forward to lol.
Anyone had any issues with prostate as a result of cycles?

Sometimes get problems yeah , visits to the toilet many times is
the biggest problem. Trying to get the flow going in the middle
of the night can also be a while. I don't think i get any
retention and regularly measure the size of my pisses . Prostate
problems have run in my family.
Not sure the science is settled on PSA though , seems we get
more problems when test declines as we age , taking test may
actually help. I do avoid DHT based compounds though.
I have been for a check about a year ago ( for a bleeding ring)
and the prostate appeared fine. My dad took finasteride and
pretty much got gyno within a month.

Now I’ve had to hold on recently so hard that when I finally did
go to the loo I could barely get a trickle out. Took about 5
minutes of actually peeing to get it all out at that low
pressure lol. Not something I would like to be regular.
Pretty much everywhere I read on side effects mentions prostate.
Again doesn’t make it true. Only real world reference is that my
uncle did steroids for a long time and he now has an enlarged
prostate. I think he is about 50 now though.

Id go to the docs mate , get a flow test and then they'll do an
ultrasound to see if you have any urinary retention , if your
prostate is enlarged then it will stop you from emptying your
bladder fully and youll have a really slow flow. My Dad got to
the point where he couldn't piss at all and had to go to A&E i
believe this is very dangerous , they fitted a catheter and
punched a hole in his bladder and scarred his urethra so deffo
wouldn't hang about , hes 70 now and says thats catheter fitting
was easily the most painful things hes had in his life . Surgery
options are getting better now though with holep and rezum , i
think at some point I will have the same problems , we are all
bald and have a history for it . Gear usage in my case doesn't
seem to have sped up the process ( my dad had problems well
       before my current age)
I havent found anything helps the symptoms but mine is only
occasional , I always used to sit down for a piss ( like a girl)
but really struggle to get going like that now, if i stand up
       gravity helps.

Thanks for the concern mate. Fortunately it only happens when I
hold it to the point Im bursting. Water works is just fine when
       doing regular trips lol.
I was just curious though if anyone has had any issues in the
bbing community and if they get checkups.

My father had prostate cancer and thankfully it was zapped with
radiotherapy. His oncologist asked if he has sons and what age
they were, and he said two, one aged 44 and one aged 47. Me
being the younger one. Oncologist advised we start getting PSA
tests also. That was about 6 years. My first PSA test came back
as 3.6, which was high for my age and want sent to see a
urologist for some tests. No biopsy thankfully, just some pee
flow tests and an MRI scan. Told me GP to keep an eye on it and
if it rises to go back and see him. Not changed much since
thankfully. Brothers reading was about 2.5 I recall. Done two
shortish cycles in my late 30's, but doubt related to that. Had
my test levels checked in the past and luckily I have high
natural test levels, so that is more likely the reason.

Interesting mate thanks for sharing. From my reading I can see
lots of things can give you a slightly elevated level including
       exercise!
It also says unless you have a family history not to bother
testing until you’re 60. So a few years off for me lol

I have an enlarged prostate and have done for years though
whether it's from TRT or my age I couldn't say. Probably a
combination of both. Doesn't really bother me though it's a pain
in the arse at times trying to p1ss.

Thought I would suffer with problems due to problems pissing
when on gear, but off gear it slowly went away and other than
wanting to piss a lot in the night (tested negative for
diabetes) I've had no problems yet.

Weird that it would change between on/off cycle. Were you doing
orals at all mate? Could they have inflamed the kidneys or other
       organs perhaps?
I was under the impression that benign prostate growth was
       permanent.
