I've had a few Diabetics mates tell me "well done on the
remission, you must have caught it just in time" ...or " you
must have only been a little bit diabetic" ... here's a handy
chart for reference - I was at 106!! (The chart in my diabetic
surgery only went up to 103!)...and keep in mind an hba1c is a 3
month average, so it's not like it was a blip or anything.
Yet the guy I have been talking to, trying to talk them into
reversing theirs a go are like "meh, I'll just take my chances
       thanks"
       Absolutely crazy.[attachimg=1]

It's worrying when it comes to health how much people are
willing to do on the 'more drugs' front but not so willing to do
on the 'adjust your lifestyle' front..... altho I guess we could
also say that about current 'training trends' too :P

Well done mate on turning that around!
I keep thinking about those pics though. You should keep going
mate. Loose the chub. Show the world the muscle monster that’s
been hiding under there all that time!

(Sorry, not been around anywhere near as often as I'd like, nor
updating this Journal anywhere as I intended either.)
Actually, this is kind of where I am now, not so much "muscle
monster" ... but I am now, at 6 months in (or will be on 17/10)
       I am 15st 11lbs, so that's a total weight loss of 7st 3lb/
101lbs. This coming off a half assed Diet break, I say half
assed, because for about at least half of the 12 days I ate less
than maintenance.... So I am expecting to drop a few more lbs
       over the next few weeks.
at my original mid term target weight of 16st, I was not quite
as lean as I hoped, I had vascular arms, quads, hams, calves and
even glutes!! but still have literally flab around my
chest, back and waist (no, its not loose skin, and I'm pretty
sure the chest bit thankfully isn't gyno, its proper fat.
I am not a naked selfie kind of guy, so everyone in the gym is
like "woah, you are lean enough, you don't need to diet any
more" based on the vascularity on show... but its the bit they
can't see that needs to go.
Weight loss is easy now, like shooting fish in a barrel. So
have now moved my target to 15st ....and if that doesn't cut it,
then I'll happily go to 14st. but that is as low as I really
       want to go.
But yeah, I have never been a lean lifter, I have been this
close to having abs once before and hated it, but then my
priorities were all about lifting, not health, so now I am
actually thinking it might be nice to spend a bit of time having
abs and condition, and to do it at close to 50 (currently 47, 48
next month) would be pretty cool. So that's what I am likely to
       do.
Everything about my life has entered a paradigm shift. Portion
sizes are probably quartered, maybe less?

Activity is my choice, rather that before when I looked forward
to sitting down and resting, I now get restless if I am inactive
for too long. I look for things to do, When cycling I
deliberately choose hilly routes and then sprint the hills,
rather than avoiding them, I avoid escalators and lifts,
preferring to run up the stairs, stuff like that
For an Obese guy (which my BMI still suggests, just into the
"Obese" range) I feel pretty good.

It always amazing how much leaner you need to get than you think
when you get a picture in your head of what you want to look
like. But that's an epic change physically, mate, well done,
genuinely, huge health benefits for you. Clearly the BMI score
is telling less of a true picture now.
I'm 47 in 2 months.... it's the right time to have made these
       changes

       As said excellent work mate.
Men tend to store fat in the belly and back first like you said,
so naturally that also is the last to go. It’s worth remembering
that as you continue to drop the fat will come off slower, so
don’t expect to continue doing such massive drops, otherwise you
will lose more hard earned muscle. About 0.7-1% BW is idea
target range to help preserve muscle.

       Thanks guys.

All in all I am pretty proud of my 6 months work.
I still find it ironic that I probably look more muscular now
than I have in over two decades, simply by not concerning myself
with any bodypart other than my pancreas!

Definitely doing it the right way mate!
It is a strange phenomenon, when you loose weight and you look
more muscular. I’m expecting next year when I cut properly my
waist will shrink and make the rest of me look much wider in
comparison. People have commented in the past when I loose
weight “have you been working out?” Complimentary but somewhat
deflating at the same time lol.
