       Work contacting me at home

What is the law on this? I haven't been asked for permission.
Its texts and phone calls like " why has this been done?" Etc.
Basicly moaning/bollockings. Im in charge of the night shift but
taking calls outside of work isnt part of my job and I am
certainly not paid to do it. I wish I could just fucking invoice
them £100 every time i have to take a call or reply to a text.
The last time they text me, I ignored it, but today ive had
another saying " can you answer the previous question" despite
the fact I was at work last night and they could have phoned me
in their own time while im at work.

If you’re in charge of a night shift, sounds like you’re at a
       manager grade?
If you’re not a pleb in the company and at a higher level, then
I would just class this as normal. Obviously the business has to
run and you’re part of running the business.
But def something to raise with your manager if it annoys you

No, there's only 3 of us in the building at night, and I only
earn about £1 an hour more than the rest of the shift. My
       position is "Senior operator"

Certainly doesn't sound right. Have you got a contract? That
would be the first place to check. I wouldn't blame the company
though, sounds like it's the individual in question. You could
be really vindictive and reply that you will contact them with
the answer the next time you're in work....which will mean they
won't be and see how they respond to being contacted out of
       their working hours ;)

we have a tea of 6 engineers, they have made us all manager
grade (no pay rise) but we get the managers bonus ( which we
never actually get for) and now they have the right to ring us
whenever , i get phonecalls all day in bed after a 25 hour shift
. ive just accepted it now, moan and my job willbe outsourced to
India whether they can do it or not.

That would piss me right off.
As it is whenever I’m asleep I set phone to ‘do not disturb’ so
only favourites in your contact list can phone you. I’ve set it
up that my wife is the only person in the world that will get
       through.
During waking hours though I’d probably just reply to any text
messages in work time or at least respond by saying any work
related enquirers should go to work email for audit purposes.

If they can easily outsource your job to India then they will,
       even if you're not moaning!!!

Companies have to be more and more careful these days. There is
a difference between longer hours at work and being expected to
get the job done and calling you while you are away from work.
You need a compromise. Speak to your manager, make a note of
what was said, get as much in writing and possible, and if you
have to to liaise with HR.
I know some have said that as a manager you will be expected,
but if that was the case they could get you in 24/7, but that
doesn't work. They wouldn't like it if you went of work with
stress and depression for 3-6 months. I work for a large
outsourcing company, and a couple of people went off for 3
       months.
