I don't actually find Aldi cheaper when I go... I generally get
own brand from Asda etc and tesco which come up at the same
price as Aldis stuff, in fact some of aldis stuff comes up more
expensive, non essentials especially. I've also found their
'fresh' food has about a 2 day shelf life once it's home too

It’s a lot. 2 and half adults and a 7 year old. Probably £600 a
month but that does include a weekly take away / toiletries /
cleaning stuff.
My downfall is the reduced section. I work next door to a
supermarket and very lunch time I go and ‘explore’. I get some
great bargains. It it’s stuff I don’t need and it’s all adds up

You must have a strange Aldi. It’s always about £30 cheaper then
the big 4. Rice potatoes meats, sauces, bogroll, etc etc All
much cheaper. What do you buy?
I agree with the veg tho. Aweful shelf life

Aldi /lidl is only cheaper if you buy branded stuff, if you buy
own brand products it's pretty much the same.

No it’s not. The whole point of Aldi is they don’t really do
branded stuff. The odd brand on special (uncle bens, green
giant, El Paso...)occasionally, but if you’re buying branded
stuff in the first place, then you’ve been taken over by big
corp

I meant branded items in tesco. If you buy unbranded items in
tesco it's roughly the same price as aldi stuff.
And they don't deliver, which is the most cost effective way to
shop unless you live very near the shop.

We've found Aldi much cheaper generally. The only problem really
is that the yoghurt selection is a bit crap so we still go to
tesco/asda periodically to stock up of those and one or two
other bits that we prefer from the main players

Tesco is also more expensive that Asda.... none of those Tesco
comparisons are what I pay at Asda
