       Monthly food shop?

How much do you spend? For me 2 adults, 3 children, 6,5 and 1.
We just added our last months spend up which does include
nappies and anything else you might get from tesco or lidl, and
it came to 760, pretty average month. That doesn't include
presents or anything like that. That seems like a lot of cash to
me, although we do buy what we want, but nothing expensive and
       cook everything at home. ???

2 adults and 1 13y/o (who is nearly 6ft so lets say 3 adults)
and recently I've got our shop, without much compromise down to
between £100 and £140 depending on bulk essentials and also
including crap like hair dye for the mrs etc. So with the odd
5wk month I reckon an average of £600 a month over the year is
       about right

2 adults and 2 kids (7 and 3), and my weekly shopping budget
stretches to £90-100, so shouldn't be much over £400 a month
usually. I only shop at Aldi or Lidl, its a massive price
difference compared to ASDA and Tesco etc... Tend to cook
everything from scratch, apart from the occasional frozen meal
in the oven job for speed/easiness.
No nappies or baby food stuff now so that's made a big
difference, I also don't buy much alchohol. I make sure the Mrs
has a bottle of gin so one of those a month is usually enough. I
don't buy myself loads of beer though, I'll buy a couple of
cans/bottles of ale just for the weekend if I fancy it.

That's a frugal shop. Our Aldi is pants and results in me having
to do 2 shops anyway, which then ends out with 2 rounds of
'sneaking extras' in (plus petrol and time) so tends to make up
for any savings. We are about to get a Lidl so that may be
interesting to see if it saves me anything, it's also right by
our Asda so can be done as one shop essentially

I know I do do pretty well tbf. My Mrs doesn't eat that much
though and 2 young kids who are easy to feed, they aren't fussy
at all and tend to eat whatever I give them. Aldi and Lidl are
pretty much the same. I tend to avoid any impulse buys though,
apart from the weekends treat meal where I try to mix it up a
bit, my weekly shop is usually the same each week. Did forget to
mention every 6-8 weeks I will stock up on meat from a butcher,
which will cost me up to around £40 a time.
My lad eats like a horse though so although I can cope with it
at the atm when he gets older he will be eating me out of house
and home, hopefully my wage will be better by then lol.

I've never done a shop WITHOUT the mrs where I have spent over
£100 - that is worth noting LOL

2 adults, 19 year old triplets, minimum £800 a month just on
food, all fresh hoecooked, no processed stuff.
Kids pay for most of their own clothes, haircuts, toiletries etc
. now so not too bad.

That's pretty much the same as me. I spend around £90 a week in
Aldi which covers most of the food for 2 adults, a child and a 1
       year old.
We probably also spend £100 or so across the month on top ups
from tesco, waitrose or the occasional trip to the butchers.
Tesco is much more convenient and there are times when aldis
shelves are bare so occasionally we do our weeks shop there and
I reckon a £90 Aldi shop would come in at £120 is tesco!

Aldi for the win man. I preferred Lidl at one time but the veg
kept going off really quick, I was throwing stuff away a couple
of days later even though the dates were good on them.
Can’t be bothered with the massive superstores now, there’s too
much choice which is also why you end up overspending. Also and
Lidl tend to have everything I need with only a few exceptions.
It also helps because I’m a tight bastard. I’m turning into my
       dad lol.
