first solicitor I saw was a man hating woman ( but she may have
been realistic) saw we had a total of 400k in assets the fact i
took my wife on with 2 kids , spent 20 years putting a roof over
their heads clothing/feeding them etc , she said you'll be lucky
to walk away with 10k, asked her was she taking the piss and
wheres the 50/50 , consdiering my wife didnt do a days work
50/50 morally would have been harsh , a free ride with 2 kids
and then walks away with the lot .
Asked the solicitor to justify it and she said I cant , don't
get married ever " do you see a ring on my finger"
I fired her off because she enjoyed telling me how bad it was
going to be , but she was right.
TP was yor spousal support in the 80/20 or attached after , i
gave the house in order to get a clean break then they stuck
spousal support on after that . If this was the other way around
can you imagine the outcry ? but this has been normalised now.
New bird wants to get wed , just never gona happen , all risk no
reward . Cant see a single positive to repeat that.

I think a new thread needs to be started on divorce. Certainly
not a nice situation for anyone involved and yes, no doubt more
in favour of women as they're seen to be the ones to look after
the kids as well as in the main the lower income earner so end
up with more off the man, however, as I said, my own sister is
going through exactly the same with her husband fleecing her!!
If kids are involved clearly it's a hard situation.

Not sure what this has to do with gender issues BUT in my day
autism/ADHD was not "known" as it is today. We had kids in
"remedial" classes, kids sent to schools for those with learning
disabilities and those who clearly were not given any attention
as they were seen to be the trouble makers, no labels, no
concerns on the fact that they may have had a medical concern.
The fact is we have developed into recognising issues in
children now and by being able to "label" what the issues are,
they can at least be dealt with appropriately.

Its the pussification of society Kitty, it has now gone the
other way extraordinarily quickly. I was at a kids party last
week, a group of 9 year olds, out of 8, 2 were "autistic". One
of the 2 was just left to do whatever the hell he wanted,
including stamping and jumping on the wooden floor inches in
front of my one year old nephew. Both parents were present, who
spent half the time on their phones.

That just sounds like a kid who's after attention!! Maybe we
need a ASDD (attention seeking deficit disorder)
I have no doubt some people play on it but when you do have
biological evidence, there is certainly something happening for
some people. At the end of the day I could not give a monkeys
who or what people wanted to be so long as they're decent and
honest human beings who respect their fellow human beings for
what they wanted to be in return!!

They are pretty much nullified by marriage, they only hold any
water in a common law partnership . Lots of people have ended
up in exactly the same boat as me even with a prenup in place.
