       Optic nerve assessments in MS dx are worth the added implementat
       ion complexity

       Some years after I was diagnosed with MS, I had a VEP (visual
       evoked potentials) test, and the results were "severely
       abnormal." So this article was of interest to me. Apparently
       more weight is being given to optic nerve involvement as shown
       in tests (VEP and OCT, optical coherence tomography) now  when
       diagnosing MS.
       From Multiple Sclerosis Journal (January 14, 2026)--in the
       section entitled Controversies in Multiple Sclerosis, "Optic
       nerve assessments in MS diagnosis are worth the added
       implementation complexity:  Yes":
