       I've been reading (listening to) this useful book, which isn't
       too full of equations to be annoying. It makes statistics more
       understandable and provides valuable suggestions on what
       expertise to trust and what to be on the alert for when on the
       Internet looking for information.
       The author is a neuroscientist and a musician.

       Snow and a cold snap mean a more stressful time than usual for
       me, and so today's post will be merely a quotation from A FIELD
