       (JAMA) Medicare Advantage post-hospitalization home meal deliver

       It looks as if US medical providers assume that if we're
       disabled or have been hospitalized but need further assistance
       when we've returned home, we have somebody to help us. It also
       looks as if they are often wrong about that. As I know from
       living in a building filled with senior citizens and disabled
       people, many are strictly on their own. They fall and nobody
       knows. They may lie there helplessly for a day or more. Or they
       come home from the hospital but find they're not up to shopping
       for food or fixing meals for themselves. So they end up back in
       the hospital.  This article tells about an experimental plan
       under Medicare providing a posthospitalization home meal
       delivery benefit.  The results were good. Maybe Medicare will be
       offering this benefit.
