(MedPage Today) Healthcare's encounters with the courts
By: agate Date: May 12, 2023, 1:20 am
---------------------------------------------------------
I sometimes read true-crime accounts, and somehow accounts
involving the medical profession have a grim fascination, maybe
because we are expected to trust the members of that profession
with our lives, and when they turn out to have feet of clay, it
can be unsettling.
But being unsettled in this way isn't entirely bad. It's
probably good to be reminded that we need to be vigilant about
people who are in charge of our medical care. We don't need to
be overly suspicious--just not too completely trusting.

Another of MedPage Today's weekly roundups, in case any
scandal-mongers are interested. Medical professionals are only
human, as these stories indicate.
