I've been using Instacart several times a year for several years
now. I have been happy with the shopping choices but have a few
complaints.
You might choose a 2-hour window for your shopping and delivery.
However, the shopper might begin shopping long before that
2-hour window begins, and if you want to be available to
communicate with that shopper, you really need to be watching
for, not just 2 hours, but 3 or 4 hours.
The delivery people often don't have any means of transporting
your order from their vehicle to your location, and that can be
a distance. Some have their own carts but many don't. This means
that I feel obliged to supply one--though sometimes the
shopper/delivery person doesn't mind hand-carrying all my
groceries.
But Instacart is a wonderful solution, in general, for anyone
who finds shopping in real stores difficult or impossible. The
items pictured online are usually accurate representations of
the products you will receive. Other information--nutrition
data, ingredients, etc.--is usually readily available as well.
This article in Medical News Today discusses the pros and cons
of Instacart--"Instacart Review: What to Know in 2023":
