       Nursing homes under Medicare scrutiny for antipsychotic use

       I am so opposed to nursing homes in general that I seem to be
       collecting negative stories about them. But there happen to be
       many such stories. This is another one. It seems that nursing
       homes diagnose residents with schizophrenia and then prescribe
       antipsychotic drugs for them. These drugs have severe side
       effects even in younger people, and many people in nursing homes
       are over 65 and especially at risk whenever any new drug is
       administered.
