JAMA devotes special issue to gun violence

The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) has
devoted an entire issue to gun violence in the US. MedPage Today
(September 27. 2022) gives a rundown on the articles included in
the issue--"JAMA Devotes Special Issue to Gun Violence":

Now that JAMA has weighed in with an entire issue on gun
violence, I don't expect much to change. Yes, gun violence is
and should be a medical issue. But the time has come for less
talk and more action, less gathering of statistics (the facts
are definitely in and have been in for a long time) and more
real change that will result in a reduction in the number of
firearms in circulation.

More statistics are being gathered. This is an article in JAMA
Network Open (November 29, 2022) by pediatrician researchers at
Emory University, Brown University, Harvard University, and
other institutions, "Trends and Disparities in Firearm
Fatalities in the United States, 1990-2021":
