(NEJM) Continue bisphosphonate therapy for osteoporosis beyond 5
years?
By: agate Date: May 4, 2022, 12:44 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Osteoporosis often comes along in addition to MS, especially for
women. Then the question is whether to start bisphosphonate
therapy. This has been recommended for me a few times, and each
time I've declined. It still looks like a rather risky type of
drug to me.
From the New England Journal of Medicine (April 14,
2022)--"Continuation of bisphosphonate therapy for osteoporosis
beyond 5 years":

If you can look at the poll results, 64% voted for discontinuing
bisphosphonate therapy in the case that is described and only
35% voted for continuing it.
