Ocrevus for all types of MS according to Dr. Timothy Vollmer
By: agate Date: April 15, 2017, 1:35 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
This 50-minute talk by Dr. Timothy Vollmer, well known in MS
research, of the University of Colorado Rocky Mountain MS Center
(April 11), is well worth watching in its entirety. He states
that the FDA has approved Ocrevus (ocrelizumab) for all forms of
MS, and he mentions secondary progressive MS as one of the
forms. He mentions this in passing but it seems to be
       remarkable news.

A leaflet about progressive MS, put out by the MS Association of
America, makes it clear that Ocrevus can be used for secondary
progressive MS if the person is still having relapses:
[quote]In 2017, the first medication was approved by the United
States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat PPMS, along
with relapsing forms of MS, which includes SPMS with relapses.

The entire booklet, "Understanding Progression in MS," which has
much valuable information, can be seen here
