Tubal Reversal
By: guest659 Date: May 28, 2018, 9:56 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
I keep thinking that if I get a tubal reversal, at least some of
my symptoms will go away. I got my tubal about 2 1/2 years ago.
Within 6 months I started having terrible cramping. That
continued a long time, on and off, even between periods. I had
ultrasounds to look for cysts or fibroids, but they found
nothing. I never really had cramping before I got my tubes tied.
I have had some times where it felt like labor contractions. I
also get this stabbing/pulling sensation right about where my
right ovary is. Now even though the cramping isn't as bad, I get
major pregnancy symptoms before each period, like everything you
can imagine. This month I got all that plus cramping that has
been happening AFTER my period. I know I need to see my doctor,
but I've been thinking about a tubal reversal. I was wondering
if there was any way for insurance to pay for it? or at least
part. I do have savings that could pay for it, but obviously if
insurance could at least cover part, that'd be ideal. I'm also
thinking about seeing if maybe my husband does want to try for a
baby, we don't have any together and decided not to be I've been
having crazy baby fever. I think that after the reversal we
could give it some time to see if its just my hormones being out
of wack lol. I talked to him about the reversal tonight and I
think he'd be fine with it, just said "I'd need to invest in
condoms" with a chuckle. I said I could use birth control, but
don't really want to, it also gave me pregnancy symptoms, but at
least I didn't have cramping and pain. (plus no periods). I
already found the closest place to where we live that does
reversals, but if anyone can let me know if there is any way for
insurance to cover even part of it, that'd be awesome. Thanks!

I don't have any experience with tubal ligation. DH had a
vasectomy because birth control and I don't get along at all.
Have you talked to your doctor about it? What do they say?

I had my tubes tied back in 93 after my last child and haven't
had any issues at all . I would talk to a specialist and see if
there's more testing that can be done

No I haven't yet. I tried going in to one doctor (not a gyno) to
get things figured out for all the cramping and pain, did
ultrasounds to look for fibroids and cysts, found nothing, then
he just tried to say "oh you probably are a bit constipated,
take a pro-biotic and maybe some laxative"...um no, i'm very
regular thank you very much...I even did try the probiotic and
it did nothing for me. I refuse to take a laxative just because
he thought I was not regular...not to mention this now has been
going on for 2 years. I will be trying to get in with my gyno as
soon as I can. Last time she kept having to reschedule.

It does. I know two other people who have been having issues, my
sister and best friend...The thing that really sucks is getting
a doctor to believe you and then to see if there is any way
insurance will cover it.

That's good, I hope it continues that way for you. Both my
sister and best friend have been having issues too. I'm going to
try and get in with my gyno as soon as I can.

If you had an essure tubal, I'd talk to a lawyer. There are a
lot of women who have had scary complications. Those damn
things move and imbed themselves into the uterus. That might be
what you're feeling. There are class action lawsuits going on
right now.

Nope, decided against the Essure. I got them cut, burned and
clips put on. I'm actually afraid the clips may be the bigger
issue, two came off and are floating around. I finally did get
into a doctor and she blamed most of my issues on being 30...she
said if my abdominal pain gets really bad and no meds help, to
go into the ER if its after hours or call to get in there so
they can do an ultrasound.

The clips can move to, so I've heard. Have you had an
ultrasound or xray to see if your pain could be related to the
clips?
