Kyprosa "Competitive" server
By: BIG Ben Date: September 8, 2014, 4:59 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
I found this post on the AA forums and it made for an
interesting read.
I'll copy and paste the original post here for those that aren't
on the AA forums.
OP by AeonAuron
"Creating a Competitive Server in Kyprosa - You're Invited!
Hey everyone,
Auron here, I am one of the leaders of Aurorian Empire and for
quite while we were discussing on which server to play. We never
want to play on a dead server, we also never want to play with
unorganized numbers' guilds (zergs) either. We want to play on a
competitive server without many MMO-Hoppers who will leave the
game after 2 months. So, because of these and many other
reasons, we decided to create a competitive server. Here are the
details of our plan:
We will be rolling on the second server: Kyprosa.
Why not server 1 you ask? Because of zergs, queues and server
locks. Without going in to much detail here, I am sure someone
else will in the replies.
Why not any other server? Servers with longevity and healthy
populations are always the first and the second one. You know
the reason why we are not rolling on the first, so, if we roll
on the 3rd, 4th or 10th, I am afraid we won't be able to find
the competition we need and it will be boring as hell for
everyone.
Why should you come and play with us?
We're an oldschool ArcheAge guild that has experience from Korea
and Russia. We pretty much know every aspect of this game. We
know how to achieve things, how to make it work and how to keep
the server alive. First thing we're focusing on is faction
balance. We are not willing to have 400 active players in the
East and 1400 on the West Continent. We want guilds to join us
to create a balanced conflict server - for the enjoyment of
every single player. We will also be holding server events as
many as possible. Best example to this is Halcyona war. We want
Halcyona wars to last for an hour, not the 5 minutes it takes to
destroy the enemy base. We even own the rights of Kyprosa.com
where you will be able to find very useful information about the
server. Such as countdown timers for events like Halcyona and
Sieges, as well as Pre-scheduled naval warfare/mass PvP events,
Shoutbox and Marketplace sections where cross-faction players
can chat and sell/buy/trade items easily.
Who can join us?
Pretty much everyone who likes to play in a competitive server
is welcome to join us. But mostly we're looking forward to see
organized guilds which know what they are doing. Any kind of
guilds are welcome, such as, PKers, Role Players, Pirates,
Casuals, Hardcores...
Confirmed guilds that are joining Kyprosa:
• Western Faction
- Aurorian Empire
- The Older Gamers
- Apex
• Eastern Faction
- Impact
- Midgard
- Sovereign
• Pirate Faction
- Unrest
- Booty Calls
-----
This topic is an open-invitation for any kind of guild that is
looking for a competitive server. If you think you will enjoy
this server, simply post your guild information (faction and
playerbase) under this topic and I will add you to the list.
Also feel free to put your guild information on this website, it
seems to be useful

I think this sounds positive for us on Kyprosa although there
are several pages (11 now) of mixed responses.

There was also a poll and on that majority voted for Dahuta.
Regardless I think Kyprosa is a nice server for us to be in.
I hope "hard-core" PvPers decide on Dahuta though because they
tend to be disgusting human beings most of the time. :-\

According to this website
HTML http://archeage.guildex.org/servers/eu
Kyprosa seems to be the
server with most guilds. This is by no means a direct sign of
population but we can consider the info here when deciding as
well.

How did these guys get their names in this guild list? We need
to add MoD. So, I guess we need to decide on a server.
I am happy to keep playing on Kyprosa. I know we dealt with
trolls and crap but, it was open beta. The 4 days early access
will be a better indication of the population and we met some
cool people along the way. We managed to increase the size of
MoD and socialise with others like, the Drunken Whalers come to
mind.
I think though, we should make a decision today, prior to launch
and get our name on that list.

Personally, I don't mind either way.
Happy to stay on Kyprosa, happy to change too if that's the
decision.
I was however, shocked bu the amount of disgusting things being
said in faction chat. Both the severity and the amount of it I
though was extreme.
I played on both Kyprosa and Eanna(with the toons my daughters
wanted to have me mess around with while they watched) and I did
notice that the trolling was rife there too.
I have a feeling it's symptomatic of the "exclusivity" of the
beta environment and will probably continue on through the early
honeymoon period of the game.
After these betas, PotBS trolling seems minimal.
Something else I think we need to consider is the new soc
members that we've had join us that might not necessarily be
informed of a decision if we do change servers.
For this reason alone, I would tend to think staying on Kyprosa
might be the more sensible option.

From what I could see of that website - go to the home page -
register - then add guild.
Not sure if we would need to have 3 different people each add 1
of the 3 proposed MoD's or if one person can add all 3?

I've added us it's pending approval at the moment. Server &
faction selections are set to undecided for now.
Apperently there is another guild called Messengers of Death
HTML http://reapermod.enjin.com/home
who plays Guild Wars 2
PS: One person can add multiple guilds but since we haven't
decided on all the names yet MoD is the only one I could add.

We are aware of the other MoD and found their ts when we were
creating our WoT guild. William and I dropped in to say hi,
they didn't seem fussed about us being MoD.
