lol, and I thnk you will find that the 'ch' letter combination
in that word sounds like 'k'. Like the word Arche Angel,
pronounced 'Ark Angel' as apposed to Arch Angel which my be an
angel you find in an archway. :P

I saw someone's post on the AA forums where they started out by
saying something along the line of "I don't care how it's
supposed to be pronounced, I'm lazy and saying it like ArkAge"
The tone was sarcastic, but I thought it sounded like a good
enough excuse for me to continue pronouncing it that way too.
And unless I'm mistaken, that is how the Devs are pronouncing it
during those live stream videos that they've been doing also.
Which is another good reason as far as I'm concerned! :D

This is a confusing matter for those who don't naturally speak
English. We have a few words that use this construct and break
the Greek language law here. Archangel
       (/ˌɑrkˈeɪndʒəl/), Archetype
(/ˈɑrkɪtaɪp/).. etc. From what I can see
French and Greek use it differently.

Using the "ch" or "che" as a hard K sound is not uncommon in
Latin. In fact in Italian "ch" is always "K", the "cc" is the
Latin equivalent of the English "ch".
In this case (Archeage) the word is built in much the same way
as the two examples I posted above.. and they are always
       pronounced "Ark".
If there is any argument over the correct way to pronounce it
with the "e" in the middle, it would be whether or not to
emphasise the "e". (ɑrkˈ/ˈɑrkɪ) In this
case the combination of dual vowels in the centre of the word
would suggest ɑrkˈ, so as to soften the transition
       from the "k" to "ˈeɪ".
I suppose the rules of English (more than any other language)
are made to be broken.. so /ˈɑrkɪ/ could be just
as right as /ɑrkˈ/ but never /ch/.

       Gif or Jif.
There are 2 types of people.
But I stand with the "ark" as in Archangel, or Archelon
(Ark-eh-lon). Even in French, an Arch (pronounced "Ar-ch" in
english, an architectural [hey this is also pronounced "ark"
lol] support structure, is pronounced (and spelled) "Ark" in
       french, for example the Arc-de-triomphe)
       Archaeology, Architecture, Archaic, Archangel, Archive,
       Archetype, Archmage, all pronounced "Ark"
Now this is not to say that some words use the other
pronunciation with the same meaning: Archbishop for example.
