       Morgan made a start on learning the language in the open beta
       and was able to see a letter here and there when someone from
       the opposing faction spoke to us.
       We also learnt that each race can communicate with each other
       within a faction.  eg if you are elf and /elf press enter, then
       only the elves can understand what you are saying, even in guild
       chat.  The same is true of the humans.
