Santeria ; Not the religion you think it is.

Most santeria practitioners are devoutly catholic.
Same for voodoo.
I, am not.
Santeria, in my opinion, is an offshoot of voodoo.
The orishas have many similarities to voodoo loa.
You can literally transcribe various gods in different
pantheons, and correlate all their attributes.
Same diety, just viewed different ways by different peoples,
over millenia.
The catholicism stems from the slaves being brought to the new
world, and finding ways to keep practicing their religion (the
religion of Ifa), without their masters knowing what they were
really doing.
So, they took each orisha (god/goddess), and gave them a
catholic counterpart.
For example
Oshun is the catholic Saint Our Lady of Charity of Cobre...
But she is also Venus, Aphrodite, Erzuli.... Although some might
contest Erzuli as her own diety... I'm not so sure...
In palo mahyombe she is Mama Chola.
In Egypt, I'm not sure. I'd say Isis, possibly Lakshmi is
Hinduism...
They all have a counterpart in each pantheon.
Some are more obvious than others
But they are all the same goddess.

Santeria has also developed differently, in different countries.
Cuba, Trinidad, the USA.

A religion started in secret
Santería was born out of necessity for the people of the Yoruba
tradition who were brought to Cuba as slaves starting in the
16th century from present-day Nigeria and Benin. In order to
maintain their religion, Africans living on the island prayed in
secret by superimposing their orishas on Catholic saints.
“When the Africans arrived to Cuba, they brought their own
religion: a religion of orishas, or saints. The Spanish tried to
impose the Catholic religion, that was also of saints,” said
Reynaldo González, who works at Regla’s historical museum a few
blocks from the ferry dock and spoke in Spanish through a
translator. “So, in order to maintain their religion, they did a
syncretism where they blend the Spanish saints with the African
saints.”
Immediately following the 1959 revolution and into the 1990s,
religion was banned in Cuba. Catholicism saw a decrease in
followers from before to after the ban, but a slight boost after
Pope John Paul II visited the island in 1998, said Father Manuel
Fernández of San Juan de Letrán Church in Vedado, a residential
suburb of Havana.
“Before the pope came, there weren’t many people coming to the
church,” said Fernández, who has been a priest in Cuba since
1993. “After there were significantly more, especially kids and
young adults.”
At the same time, Santería has since become increasingly
popular, said Fernández Robaina. “The yabo, people you see
dressed in all white, some with anklets – that, in my time, that
was not allowed,” Fernández Robaina said. “Now when you see the
TV … [people] have something [like this] that shows they are
connected with Santería.”

A General Definition
Joseph M. Murphy, a Catholic priest, professor of religion at
Catholic Georgetown, and a practitioner of Santera said:
Santera is a religious tradition of African origin that
developed in Cuba and that was spread throughout the Caribbean
and the United States by exiles of the revolution of 1959.
Santera began in the nineteenth century when hundreds of
thousands of men and women of the Yoruba people, from what are
now Nigeria and Benin, were brought to Cuba to work in the
island's booming sugar industry ... The Cuban Yoruba often used
the iconography of Catholic saints to express their devotion to
Yoruba spirits called orishas. The name Santera, "the
way of the saints," is the most common Spanish word used to
describe these practices and the word santero (m.) or santera
(f.) indicates an initiated devotee. Later generations of
santeros would construct elaborate systems of correspondences
between orishas and saints, leading observers to see this
Caribbean religion as a model for understanding religious
syncretism and cultural change. Despite the frequent presence of
Catholic symbols in Santera rites and the attendance of
santeros at Catholic sacraments, Santera is essentially
an African way of worship drawn into a symbolic relationship
with Catholicism.

Palo , of which there are a few subsects, is called the dark
side of santeria.
Its not.
Yes its darker than santeria, but it's a separate religion.
The orisha are called Nkisi.... But they all correspond to each
other in traits and the things they grant to petitioners.
As with all these afrocaribbean religions, animal sacrifice is
an integral part.
Each religion looks that the why fors of this differently.
In voodoo, they kill the animal in a very sloppy fashion. The
animal suffers, and death comes over time.
I'd say 15 minutes...
This is to epitomize the suffering of man.
Via these suffering animals.
Whereas, santeria, is quick and painless.
Because of this aspect of the religions, despite training with
bokor, santero and palero, I've never gone to a ritual where
this would occur, and I've never fully initiated into any of
them.
I've studied and trained with people in all 3
Santeria, Palo and voodoo.
Theoretically, I can perform an exorcism because of my training.
In santeria, you have a mother, a father, and the one thar
crowns you.
Mine are, in no particual order, obatala, oya, and yemaya.
Their wisdoms flow through me in various ways.

Of them all, the goddess I turn to when I'm need, is always
Oya..
Her various counter parts are, Centella Ndoki, Kali Ma, The
Morrigann, Sekmet, St Theresa, St Martha
Her day is Feb 2. My life has changed dramatically at least 4
times, on a Feb 2.

She is the ruler of the cemetery, ruler of the dead, ruler of
the earth, ruler of storms ruler of the wind, and she stole
lightening from Chango. It's his, but she too can control it.
So she literally controls every element.
Earth air fire and water.
Orisha tales read like Greek myths, except with more sex, if
that's possible.
:D

Apparently Beyonce fancies herself as the embodiment of Oshun.
I find that disrespectful myself....

Most interesting days ahead.
what interests me most, is how the satanic hivemind attacks you,
through its human slaves.
i mean, if you were part of them, they would not harass you so.
which means, you are not, part of them.
but, set apart.
also, i know, kharma you stacked in a previous life, kinda
overrides anything else.
i know who you were long ago, and you did something rad, and
this life,. was ruff in the start,
but what you will witness, with the understanding of whats going
on, will bring you great joy.

I hate to say this, but it's true. They attack me the same way
the dems attack Trump.
They make crap up, post it everywhere, like MSM. It's complete
gangstalking.
That one guy, he's the one that's no better than sc. Not me.
He's just like her.
So you repeat the bullshit often enough, idiots start to believe
it.
Key word there, idiots.

Obatala is the wisened white one. I used to dream of this white
owl. Padrino said it was Obatala bringing me wisdom.
He is also the great arbitor. He in all about justice.
Oya is the great warrior. She punishes wrong doers. She's also
the goddess of the marketplace. She will grant you great
business if you ask her right . She will also annihilate your
enemies.
There is a japanese temple of Oya. No relation.
Its intetesting to me how there's this odd connection between
japan and afrocaribbia.
Fugu, that fish tied Japanese pay so much for to eat, and maybe
die from its poison.
Fugu poison, is what they use in zombi powder to turn people
into zombis on africa.
I know you must know this is true. Not a myth.
Yemaya is the great mother. She rules over the oceans and all
their secrets.
They say the oceans hide their secrets under her skirts.
Yemaya can be cold however. She has a dual nature. She is the
caring great mother, but if your annoy her with pettiness, she
just stops listening to you. Much like a very enlightened Buddha
listening to an idiot call another person quėėfzilla.
Utterly infantile. So she turns a deaf ear, and will not listen
to your petition.
