Mixed Beats- Josie, Noble and Cam
By: Minyaagar Date: February 20, 2026, 1:07 am
---------------------------------------------------------
It had been a rough few weeks of dealing with Tiffany acting
completely crazy. Josephine was in fact, the only person who was
still talking to her after the fiasco of trying to paint Kyson
as a cheater as it seemed the school took his side. It seemed
Tiff had finally found someone more popular than her and her
popularity was tanking dramatically because the woman was acting
more and more unhinged.
It had even gotten to the point that she was starting to hear
rumors about herself going around of how she was clearly in love
with Tiffany if she was still so loyal to the girl. Josie tried
to ignore this as she headed to class, her eyes falling on one
of the new students as she put her backpack down and began her
stretches for the morning.
-----
Noble really would have preferred to be anywhere else than the
dance classroom, keeping a blank look on his face as he went
through the familiar stretches. Agreeing to keep up dancing had
been one of the several stipulations his parents had made with
him. At least getting to be in the same school as Mercy and
having other girls around was a nice change of pace.
Due to his late arrival at the school, there had been a lot of
stares and gossip flying around about him and Mercy. Not to
mention hearing the ugly rumors about Josie. He turned with a
slight frown hearing another boy making a rather crass joke
about his sister's roommate.
"I thought we were here to dance," he said shooting a
reproachful look at the other teen.
The other guy fell silent, something about Noble making him back
down immediately. Noble shook his head and moved to join Josie.
"Are You okay?" He asked in a lower voice, feeling oddly
protective of Josie. Though he barely knew her, he knew that
Mercy was already quite fond of the girl.
-----
Having the new guy stand up for her had Josie quite shocked,
even more so when the man walked over to her and asked if she
was okay. "People gossip all the time, I try my best to ignore
it. Thank you for getting them to shut up. You are Mercy's
brother right? You want to be my dance partner for the day?" She
questioned as she finished her stretch and turned to face the
tall teen.
"You don't looked too thrilled to be here," she pointed out
having taken in how the guy showed very little excitement about
class. "Parents making you take dance?" She questioned. It was a
pretty common story in the school. Either you fought tooth and
nail to be here, or you didn't want to be here, there wasn't
much of an in-between. Josephine was one of the few accepting
that she wanted to dance and her parents supported it.
----
Noble could see the shock on Josie's face at his standing up for
her. It made him a bit sad that no one else had come to her
defense. "It can be hard to ignore when everyone is tearing you
down," he said with empathy. "I'm glad to do it. Everyone needs
a friend to stand up for them. Yeah, I'm Noble. Nice to
officially meet you Josephine. Yes, I would enjoy being your
dance partner," he agreed instantly.
Her observation about his outward expression about dancing had
him shrugging.
"I used to love to dance, until they started pushing me into
competing. I'd like to get back into it, with the right
partner," he admitted, looking her in the eyes. "It's a long
story, if you're interested, maybe I can tell you some over
lunch?" He couldn't help but ask.
----
A dark blush found it's way onto Josephine's cheeks at Noble's
insistence that he was happy to defend her. It darkened even
more when the teen suggested getting lunch together after
agreeing to dance with her. She wasn't usually so easily
flustered but the way Noble spoke and acted made her feel
butterflies bubble up inside of her.
"Sure, maybe we can get lunch off campus? There is a lot of
drama going around that I would rather avoid," she suggested
before the class was called to order. After some brief
instructions, the class was told to pair off and practice what
they had learned. She took Noble's hand, "I'll let you lead this
time," she teased with a wink.
-----
Noble couldn't help but notice just how dark Josephine blushed
at his words. It just made her look even more adorable. Not
wanting to fluster her more, he chose to not say anything about
it.
"Sounds good to me. You'll have to pick a place, I have yet to
check out the town." Noble admitted in a low voice.
He fell silent as the teacher got the students in order and gave
off instructions on the style of dance they were going to try.
Most of the footwork and movements were easy for him to pick up,
and he mentally went over them. When Josie took his hand, Noble
smiled and pulled her closer, laying his other hand lightly on
her waist.
He led her through the movements, adding a bit more flourish
when he spun and dipped her. "Having fun yet?" He asked, quite
enjoying having the petite dancer in his arms.
-----
The blush returned to Josephine's cheeks with the way Noble
pulled her closer, draping her arm where it belong as they began
to dance together. The way his body moved and guided her across
the dance floor was mesmerizing. She had never had a dance
partner this good before. The spin and dip had her giggling and
grinning. "Oh I am definitely having fun, what about you?" She
questioned with a smirk as she tried to get over how flustered
she felt.
------
Noble could feel quite a few eyes on them as he guided Josephine
around doing the steps nearly perfectly. "Oh very much so,
especially with such a talented partner," he couldn't help but
compliment Josie.
Most of his past first dance partners got tense and fumbled
around. Josie moved, giving him completely control. This type of
trust normally took weeks or months to establish with a dance
partner.
The instructor noticed it as well, complimenting them when
they'd finished the dance. "I think you two should remain
partners for the semester. I've never seen two dancers better
suited for one another,"
Noble felt his face heat a bit at this and shot a look at Josie.
"I agree with you on that. Josie, shall we be dance partners?"
He asked, hoping she'd agree.
------
The complement got Josie's heart fluttering. She could feel all
the eyes on them as they danced. What the teacher had to say
when they finished had her going a little wide eyed before
looking at Noble when he agreed. "I wouldn't mind that," she
finally answered after a moment, getting quite a few jealous
glares.
Soon class was over and Josephine took it upon herself to guide
Noble to his next class before they parted ways.
When lunch finally rolled around, she waited at the entrance of
the cafeteria, partly to avoid Tiff but also to hopefully put
eyes on her lunch date.
----
Noble broke into a wider grin, his eyes sparkling when Josie
agreed. He almost felt like he was walking on clouds when she
helped him to find his next classroom. "Thanks, I'll see you
outside the cafeteria," he said before heading into his music
theory classroom.
Hours later, he was more than ready to find Josie and go off
campus for lunch. He was quite annoyed with how narrow minded
and sheep like the student body was acting, having added only
more rumors and gossip about Josie and him.
"There you are, come on let's get out of here," Noble said
coming up to Josie and taking her hand. "So, where do you want
to go? I can drive, if you want to navigate,"
--+-
When Josephine's eyes landed on Noble as he approached her, she
couldn't help the grin that spred across her lips, blushing
again at him taking her hand. "There is the nice little bristo
that has amazing sandwiches and salads along with some great
coffee, I don't mind being the navigator," he responded quite
gleefully as she let him lead her out of the school and to his
waiting car.
"Nice car," she mused once they got there. It wasn't a long
drive to the coffee shop she wanted to take Noble to and was
practically bouncing in her seat as she talked about all the
different things to see around town.
--+++
If Noble was honest with himself, Josephine was definitely his
type. Beautiful, poised and a delight to be around. He knew it
was too soon to think of her being a potential girlfriend, but
he had the feeling that one day she would be. If he didn't try
to rush things.
"Sounds good to me. I do need a caffeine pick me up," he wasn't
ashamed to admit.
"Thank you, it took three weeks researching and two to convince
my dad to let me get it."
Being the gentleman he was, Noble opened the passenger door for
her and gently closed it once she was inside.
The drive to the coffee shop had him relaxing despite the
traffic. He was sure that was thanks to the company of the
beautiful girl beside him.
"Maybe you'd have time this weekend to show me around the town.
I'm sure Mercy will want to go explore the mall at some point,"
he added, knowing his sister wouldn't like being excluded. "I'm
sure she'll make other friends in no time though,"
He parked his car and then got out to open the door for Josie
and then followed her into the small coffee shop. The inside
looked rather busy for the lunch hour, and most of the tables
were packed. "maybe we should get the food to go and take it to
a park?" He suggested as they joined the long line to the
counter.
-----
"Your dad wanted to go cheaper didn't he?" Josie teasingly asked
in comment to how long he had to work in order to get the
vehicle. A fresh blush littered her cheeks when he asked her to
show him around town that following weekend. "OH! For sure, I
would love to show you around town! I am enjoying getting to
know Mercy, she is quite fun. We have a fantastic mall in town."
She responded with excitement. Something about Noble put that
spark back in her that had been slowly sucked away by bullies
and gossip.
It was quite sweet and adorable how much of a gentlemen Noble
seemed to be and was more than happy to let him dote on her like
this. When they got inside, Josie was quite disapointed with how
packed the place was. She light back up at the mention of the
park and got a smirk. "A picnic is a pretty sweet first date,"
She teased, testing the waters to see if this spark she was
feeling was real and mutual.
+++++
"Actually he likes showing off and wanted to get me something
flashier," Noble admitted. "I don't really know where I get my
practical side from, but it's not from my parents,"
Noble stole a look over at Josie, pleased to see her excited and
happy looking. He'd just have to steal her away from Tiffany
more often. The other girl seemed to affect Josie's mood way too
much.
"Awesome, I can't wait to hang out more. She is a lot of fun,
just don't let her drag you into any of her schemes. She can get
a bit obsessed at times," he couldn't help but warn her.
Noble flushed slightly at Josie's teasing and saying it would be
a great first date. He met her gaze after a few moments and
asked. "Would you like it to be a first date Josephine? Cause I
really do like you, I'd like to get to know you better,"
-++++
A very dark blush crossed Josephine's cheeks as Noble was quite
direct. It seemed he didn't play games like most other boys at
the school did. "I... yes... I would like that.... i... like you
too... excited to get to know you better," she admitted, quite
flustered as she turned away and lead them to get in line at the
counter so they could get their food for their lunch date. It
had been a long time since a boy and tried to properly date her.
-+++
Seeing Josephine's dark blush, made Noble feel a bit bad about
saying all this in a public setting. It would probably have been
easier on her if he'd said this in the car.
A wide smile filled his face when she managed to get through her
nerves to agree and tell him she felt the same way. "I'm glad
you feel the same way," he whispered and followed her up to the
counter. They ordered food and drinks and moved to wait for it,
making light conversation. Noble paid for everything and helped
carry the food and drinks out to the car. "So what do you like
doing for fun? Or better yet, what sort of dates do you like? Do
you like a guy that plans everything or do you like to take
turns?"
+----
Soon, they both had their food and Josephine was quite happy to
help get their food and drinks into the car. She raised an
eyebrow at the teens questions once they were alone in the car
again and gave him a wide smile. "I like surprises, though, I
don't want to put the burden of playing out every date yourself.
I enjoy planning things on occasion though, I am enjoying how
you seemingly want to spoil me. As for what I like doing for
fun, my top tier favorite thing is dancing. I love going
shopping and wandering the mall, oh! I enjoy puzzles and scary
movies, the beach is always great when the weather is warm
enough, would spend all year pool side if I could." She began to
ramble, going on and on about all of her interests. It was like
a floodgates had been opened given no one had ever seemed
genuinely interested in her as a person.
--++++
"I get the spoiling those I like from my dad, all six of us kids
have gotten over indulged by him our whole lives." Noble
admitted.
Hearing what she liked to do gave him ideas for more things they
could do together. "I can work with that," he mused out loud as
they arrived at the park's parking lot and found a space to park
his car.
"Looks a bit crowded," he commented and went to pull a blanket
from the back of his car. "We can find a nice shady spot to sit
away from everyone else," he suggested, and helped carry the
food to a nice spot. Once they were settled, he started telling
her some about himself.
How he loved playing music the most, the instruments he liked to
play, and his secret about wanting to one day be a singer. Which
he knew his parents wouldn't approve of. "I like puzzles myself,
scary movies are okay, my favorite are more comedic horror ones;
oh and I love swimming too. We've have an indoor pools at our
homes, so I have lived near a pool all my life."
---++
It was another day for Cameron as he was dressed in one of the
outfits for a photoshoot. The teen was popular among the
demographic so it wasn’t u heard of for places to get more
crowded than usual for a glimpse of the blonde. He tilted his
head as the cameraman was doing his work, taking photos as he
positioned again at the request of looking thoughtful. “Are we
almost done?” Asked Cameron as he was starting to feel tired. He
had been there since the morning. While he did love his job- he
didn’t love the hours.”one more!” Said the photographer as he
saw the man angle below, getting it just right.”there’s the
cover!” Said the man with a French accent and a sway of the
hips.
“We are done.. let’s wrap this up!” Said the man as Cameron felt
the telltale breeze of a rain fast approaching.”oh no…” he
groaned. The man hitched a ride with his cousin, who had gone
off to god knows where. And he was sure he wouldn’t be able to
get ahold of the man in question as he did say he had a job
interview.
The man went to change, deciding to walk in the direction of a
coffee shop. Or what he believed to be till he felt the few
drops.”oh.. just great..” said the blonde with an eye roll.
++++
Soon the pair were at the park and happily eatting lunch. Her
attention had been fully on Noble at first, until she noticed
the commotion over the photoshoot going on. Her eyes kept
wandering over to the hot teen model before forcing herself to
focus on Noble and their meal.
The pair had just finished eatting eatting when the sky seemed
to decide to fall out on them. Josephine was rushing back to
Noble's car as fast as she could to try and preserve her hair
and makeup, managing to be somewhat successful. It was when they
were both in the car again she noticed the model from before
walking in the rain. "Maybe you could give him a ride? He looks
like he is getting drenched...." She suggested to her date.
-----
Noble had noticed Josie's attention being drawn to the
photoshoot and followed her gaze. The model was rather
attractive, and Noble could see why Josephine kept sneaking
looks.
The sudden rainstorm had him moving quickly, gathering up the
remnants of their picnic and rushing after Josephine. He
unlocked the doors, making sure she got inside and dumped the
blanket and trash in the trunk. He had just gotten into the
driver's seat and turned in his lights and wipers when he heard
Josephine's question.
He rolled his window down enough and called out.
"Hey, need a ride? You don't want to get caught out in a storm.
Where are you needing to go?"
+----
Cameron was making his way when a car came up and he heard the
question of needing a ride. The man hesitated at first as he got
a good look at the two to recognize Josie. Noble was new to him
as he gone to the same school. He relaxed to call out.”thanks
man..” he said to slide in the back dripping. His hand pushed
his hair out of his face as he let a breath out.”sorry about
getting your car all wet.” He said as his gaze went to Josie.”I
know you- you were with Tiffany.” He said referring to tiff. She
tried to get with him but the guy was way to wise to her ways.
He kept things amicable given how she was. He knew how to pull
away gracefully without dealing with the fall out like most. But
Josie never really left his head. The here was something about
her that he felt drawn to. She seemed genuine compared to
Tiffany.. and real compared to the faker friend. “Sorry for the
hesitation- I’ve ran into trouble this way before.” He admitted.
---+
A wide grin stretched across Josie's lips at Noble showing no
hesitation in helping the handsome model out. She wasn't
surprised by Cam's initial hesitation and turned to the mirror
in the viser to fix her running make up. "Yeah, Tiff is a close
friend. Remember you are the cutie who actually managed to slip
away from her without serious fall out. Have to say, I am quite
impressed," she mused. "Don't blame you for being cautious, I
imagine creeps try and pick you up often," she added. "Where you
headed?" She questioned as she moved on to trying to salvage her
hair.
------
"Don't worry about the water," Noble replied easily. "It'll dry
off fast enough,"
He waited until both were buckled and pulled out and listened to
the two talking about Tiffany. He frowned slightly hearing that
the guy had run into trouble in the past. If he was well known,
it was possible the guy had encountered stalkers or worse. "No
need to apologize for being careful. It's not like you know me
at all. I'm Noble Price by the way. What's your name?" Noble
fell silent as he drove through the rainy streets, waiting for
directions in where the guy wanted to go.
-----
“Cameron Knight.” He responded to noble. The last name felt
vaguely familiar to him somehow but he shrugged it off.”just
drop me off at acorn street.” He said with a slight blush. “Well
honestly I wasn’t interested in Tiffany..” he said as he looked
at Josie again.”honestly was more interested in her friend but
it seems she found a boyfriend.. seems I lost out.” He said as
he vaguely pointed out his interest.
“On a date?”he asked as he looked at noble. He noticed the man
was quite good looking despite the man’s hair.
--+--
Quite a dark blush colored Josephine's cheeks at Cameron's words
as the man hinted at being interested in her. "Wouldn't say
boyfriend yet, but we are on a date, Tiffany would straight up
kill me if she thought I was even *looking* in your direction in
that way..." She said suddenly feeling quite shy over the
subject. It felt strange to know the guy liked her and him even
admitting as much in front of Noble who he correctly assumed was
her date.
-----
Noble saved the name in his head, planning to look up the model
later. He frowned a bit at being told a street he didn't know.
"You may have to point it out to me. I'm new to the area," he
admitted.
Noble was a bit surprised to hear the model was interested in
Josephine. He felt a bit conflicted at the guy thinking he was
her boyfriend and asked if they'd been on a date.
Hearing Josie's explanation and then her reasoning on not going
after a guy she was obviously attracted to had Noble shaking his
head.
"Pretty sure if he's her ex, that means it's not up to her. If
you want to date Cameron, go on a date with him. I know that's
probably odd coming from me of all people, but I'm more open
than most. If it would help, maybe the three of us could hang
out together. " He suggested. "Really though, it's up to you
Josephine, and what you want."
----
“Honestly it should not be her business whose direction you look
at- nor hers to dictate who I’m with.” He said his eyes looking
toward her way. “Continue straight ,once you hit the third stop
light go left.” He told him, “after go like two blocks and boom
acorn street.also not that woman’s ex- she tried to get with me
after breaking it off with Lucius. Wasn’t hard to see that she
wasn’t for the relationship.” He said with a sigh. “And the
man’s right, and honestly she’s a piece of work. She calls you
friend and talks behind your back- it’s not good.” He said with
a fold of his arms.
--++
Hearing Noble seemingly encouraging a date with Cameron and even
suggesting the three hang out together was quite strange but she
didn't hate the idea. She was having greedy thoughts of wanting
both men as hers but mentally scolded that she would be labeled
a slut in a heartbeat.
Both tried to reason with her that it did matter what Tiffany
thought or wanted, Cameron even mentioning that Tiffany was
talking behind her back. "Tiff wouldn't do that... she is my
best friend..." She said without her usual vigor. "People just
like making up rumors..." She added as she looked out the car
window.

Re: Mixed Beats- Josie, Noble and Cam

---------------------------------------------------------
Noble stole a look from the rear view mirror to look Cameron
over for a moment, admiring the others handsome face.
He normally never got involved with more than one person at a
time, but he was more than a little tempted. He held himself
back from saying anything, not knowing how Josephine might take
it, especially after he'd told her how interested he was in
here.
"Got it," he responded to Cameron's directions, his attention
going back to his driving and being cautious of his surroundings
and the other drivers on the road.
His hands tightened a bit around the leather steering wheel
hearing that Tiffany had been talking shit behind Josephine's
back.
"I'm sure we'll find the truth out soon enough," he said to
reassure her, his eyes flicking to look at Cameron for a minute.
He finally pulled up to the building that Cameron directed him
to and parked outside, and unlocked the doors. "If you're
interested, my roommate and I were going to throw a watch party
this weekend. My sister was going to bake her amazing cookies,
and there will be other food too. You should join us Cameron,
Josephine will be there too," he added. "I can give you my
number and you can text me when you decide," Noble added.
----
Cameron gave a soft sigh.”tiff surrounds herself with the
gullible and naive.. be careful.. I’d hate to see a beauty like
you used.” Said the man with a gentle look. Once he saw his
apartment he took the number and wrote his down and handed it to
the two.”just don’t spread my number- especially not tiff.” He
said with a sigh, “call me whenever too, and I don’t mind
joining.” He said with a wink. He slid out to shut the door. His
face watching the car go. He let off a sigh before turning to go
inside.
-++++
The comfort and concern of the two teens in the car had Josie
blushing, mildly insulted at being called gullible and naive but
was so thrown off at the wanting to join them comment she was
blushing like wild.
She took the offered number and stared at it. "I wont hive it to
anyone, see you at the party..." She told Cameron. She didn't
look up from the slip of paper until the teen was long out of
the car and they headed towards campus. Sure she knew the man
meant joining them for the party, but she felt like he meant
more.
She finally looked at Noble. "Well, he is an interesting guy...
does it... bother you he gave us both is number? He... seemed
interested in us both......" She questioned, trying to gauge the
teens reaction to the teen model.
-----
Noble accepted Cameron’s number with a faint smile, tucking the
slip of paper into his wallet. “Don’t worry—your secret’s safe
with us,” he said easily. “We’ll text you about the party.”
He gave a short nod as Cameron slipped out and shut the door,
his gaze lingering for a moment in the rearview mirror as the
other teen crossed the sidewalk. Cameron’s figure disappeared
through the glass doors of the apartment building, but Noble
kept watching for a second longer, brows knitting faintly in
thought before he put the car in gear.
The drive back to campus was quiet at first, the hum of the
engine filling the space.
When Josie finally spoke, Noble glanced at her from the corner
of his eye. “Interesting is one word for him,” he said, a wry
edge to his tone before it softened again. “And… yeah, I
noticed. I’m a little surprised, honestly. He doesn’t seem like
the type to hand out his number to just anyone.”
He paused, shifting one hand on the steering wheel. “But… it
doesn’t bother me. If anything, I think it says more about him
than it does about us. Maybe he just likes keeping his options
open. Or maybe…” Noble’s lips twitched into a faint smile,
“...he thinks we’re both worth knowing. I can’t really be mad
about that.”
He guided the car smoothly back toward the school dorms, letting
the thought hang between them. “Guess we’ll find out more at the
watch party.”
Noble’s hands stayed steady on the wheel, though there was a
flicker of hesitation before he spoke again. “Since we’re being
honest…” He glanced over at her, then back to the road. “I’m bi.
Not exactly something I hide, but it doesn’t always come up
right away. I’ve never dated more than one person at a time,
though—that’s not my style.”
His mouth curved in a small, self-conscious smile. “But… this is
the first time I’ve met two people on the same day and felt…
pulled toward both. You, obviously. And… yeah, Cameron. It’s
strange for me.”
He let out a short breath, as if bracing for her reaction. “I
don’t want you thinking I’m playing games, Josie. I really like
you. I’m not sure what this thing with Cam even is yet—just that
it’s there. And if that makes this awkward…” He gave a soft,
rueful laugh. “Then I’m sorry for making things weird on what’s
supposed to be our first date.”
He slowed for a light, finally meeting her gaze fully. “If you’d
rather, we can just forget about him being in the picture and
focus on us. I’ll follow your lead.”
