Of love, life and knowledge
By: Minyaagar Date: February 16, 2026, 9:31 am
---------------------------------------------------------
It was another day for Tael’c, the man was bustling as usual as
it had hit noon.
The man had grown to live in the new world adapting where he
could- but disliked most modern technology that did more than
what was necessary. He cared not for the cell phones that did
more than text or ring.
He sat at the table with his soda and a burger, he looked at it
as memories of fighting for food came to mind. How he missed
things when it was simple… with.. him.
He and zarik lived in a home that was near the museum.. their
guard over the apple of knowledge. How tempted he was to use it
himself- but after seeing what happened to Abaddon, how he lost
his mind.
He sighed as he found himself doodling on his notebook again..
the man always did art well.. and there it was again- Ayyub’s
face drawn on the paper.. a time when he looked so concentrated.
Tael’c sighed as he closed his notebook his food half eaten. He
fingered the earring that still was on him from when the three
were mated. “Where are you?” He murmured as he slowly looked out
the window he had sat by, with a distant gaze.
—fin—
There are often children who slipped through the cracks of
society. Uncared for and abused. Sure, Ayyub had his father but
he was convinced the drunk hated him. It at least seemed that
way when the man beat him constantly. As a result, the freshly
18 year old spent more time out in the streets and sleeping an
alleys than he did at home. The fact he wasn't a part of any
gang was shocking.
The teen was speeding on his skateboard down the street, passing
by houses to take out the mailboxes with a bat. An outlet for
his angst and anger at the world.
-fin-
Tael’c was staring a bit when Ayyub skated by. He saw the face
and had a flashback, it was his face.. just clearly much
younger. He left his food as he rammed his things in a bag to
rush out, seeing the skater boy going down a street.
His face gained a serious look as he ignored his own car to
reach the street, he watched as Ayyub swung and the laughter.
It sounded so much like him.. least to him it did. He was unsure
how to approach the guy without running him off, wondering if
the guy still was an avid learner- or how to get his attention.
It was when he saw someone come rushing out to grab Ayyub off
the skateboard that made him go in. He stopped what would have
been a punch to say.”I know he broke private property- but this
direction isn’t the way to go.” He said calmly.”I’ll sit with
the boy- I don’t have my phone on me- so it be wise to call the
police now.” He said. His hand on ayyub’s upper arm.
But once the man went inside for his phone did Tael’c
mumble.”run for the ally, I’ll be behind you.” He said as he let
the upper arm go.
—fin—
When an angry dwarf came rushing out and grabbed him off the
board before he could get away, Ayyub braced himself for the
likely beating he was about to get but that first punch never
came. A high elf had come to his rescue, talking of having a
talk with the teen and so on, getting the angry man to let go
and go inside for his phone.
The silver haired teen however, didn't expect the elf to mumble
for him to run and that he would be right behind him. He didn't
understand, but he wasn't going to look a gift horse in the
mouth as he snagged his skateboard and bolted for the mentioned
alley, hopping onto his skateboard as he went. He didn't stop
until he was deep in the Alley and leaned against a wall
chuckling at his luck.
-fin-
Tael’c waited just enough before he would rush off after, he
felt a slight thrill after four thousand years of doing
something that would have morally been not okay. He saw Ayyub
after getting in deep of the alley and took a breath.”you know-
you should be way more careful when you decide to do stuff like
that- “ he said as he recalled the way Ayyub use to get out of
situations in the past life.
“And not do that during the day.” He said to chuckle as his long
ears moved a bit.”Geeze been a long ass time since I had to run
like that..” he mumbled as he leaned against the other
side.”let’s get moving- if the cops arrive their gonna have both
of our descriptions.. could go to the museum to hide out… “ he
said thoughtfully.
—fin—
When it sounded like the high elf was going to start lecturing
him about how he shouldn't be doing what he had been doing, he
had been ready to tell the elf to fuck off but was surprised to
hear the advice to not get caught in what he was doing.
"Middle of the day when most people are at work is safer than
the middle of the night. Just ventured to far into rich bitch
territory...." He said in response as his eyes narrowed at the
man.
"Why are you helping me?" He questioned, his untrusting nature
showing itself. In this regard there was little difference than
his past self that the elf had known.
-fin-
“Middle of the night means you be less likely to be identified
and caught.” Countered the high elf.
“You remind me of someone a long time ago- always getting into
danger.. though you- don’t seem to have a game plan to get out
of a sticky situation.” He said to tease a little. He ran his
hand in his hair.
“Guessing home life isn’t cutting it if you’re whacking the
mailboxes hm?” He questioned with a chuckle.
— fin—
The way the high elf was looking at him had the teen about
blushing, especially when he used that teasing tone. The way the
man so casually mentioned his bad home life struck a nerve as he
settled into a glare.
"So what... lot of people have shitty home lives.... I can get
myself out of shit just fine..." He grumped, his ego feeling
bruised in that moment.
A noise further up in the alley had Ayyub looking around
paranoid now. "If you insist on being so... chatty... guess we
can go to your museum place..." He added officially trusting the
elf for the moment as he instinctively moved closer to the man.
-fin-
Tael’c noticed the grumpy face Ayyub often wore when his ego was
bruised. He made a knowing smile.
“Sounds good to me.” He said hearing movement to take the teens
hand.”this way.” He said as he began to take Ayyub in the
direction of his museum. The elf glancing a bit back to see the
cops already nearing where they were at as they crossed the
street.
He grabbed his phone to ring for zarik as he neared the museum.
He felt the dragon could make memories vanish with a simple
spell. They finally reached the museum- knowing he only bought
time as they passed by exhibits that showed figures of history-
some looking roughly like snow of the past in wax form, to the
book that Adan held resting encased in glass.
He got to his office as he ushered Ayyub in- his office filled
with scrolls and books, and an old sketch of Ayyub hung on the
walls carefully preserved by a frame.
—fin—
A darker blush came to Ayyub's cheeks having the high elf take
his hand like that and lead the way to the mentioned museum. The
elf pulling out a phone to ring someone up as the teen was
pulled past the exhibits. He normally wouldn't be in a place
like this but he couldn't help but be interested.
Sadly, he was soon hurried into the elf's office. He slowly
looked around, picking up a sheet of notes the man had made of
some of the artifacts and active research. His eye going to the
man who whisked him away to this place.
-fin-
Zarik flicked off the stove top and went to plate the last of
the pancakes he'd made and stole a piece of bacon to munch on.
The sound of his phone going off had him sighing and going to
check on who was calling so early. He frowned seeing that it was
Tael'c calling. "Just where are you? I just finished making us
breakfast., i'd rather not eat it alone. Do you need me to pick
you up? " he asked.
He moved to turn the oven on low and stuck the food in, hoping
it would keep warm enough until Tael'c and he got back.
-fin-
Tael’c looked at his own phone- he then chuckled.”I woke up much
earlier and ran errands.. sorry- I already ate some food earlier
since it was close to noon- but no matter- I am in a spot of
trouble- I ah- *may* end up needing bail if you don’t get here
first.” He murmured.
He saw how the teen was picking up papers of his research. A
soft smile crossed his face. It seemed the man was still inside
and showing interest in what he was working on. “I ah.. may of
connected my *missing piece* and got someone out of trouble.” He
said using the phrase they agreed on to show they had found
their mate.
—fin—
"course you did," Zarik half grumbled without any real
complaint behind it. "I was up until nearly 3 working on stuff.
Trouble? Why does this not surprise me? Honestly, you can't stay
out of trouble for five hours on your own," Zarik teased as he
headed to get some shoes on and went to grab his wallet.
He froze at the door, at the next words that came out of his
mate's mouth.
"You..you're sure?" He asked in a rather raw raspy time as
memories flooded him of Ayyub's death and having to watch it and
being helpless in preventing it.
"Where exactly are you?" He demanded, worry filling him of
losing the reincarnated Ayyub before actually getting to meet
him again.
--fin--
“Very.. talk about a dead ringer.” He said in terms of looks of
Ayyub.”At the museum- but not sure how long I’ll be if the cops
come this way.” He said with a nervous chuckle.
“Mind getting here when you can? Your spells really do help in
tight spots like this..” he said as he grabbed a file to flip
through it.
—fin—
Zarik's body shivered slightly and he steadied himself,
breathing in and out slowly for a few minutes as Tael'c replied,
mentioning that the cops showing up.
"I'll be right there, oh I know. What exactly happened?" He
questioned as he hurried out of the house, and used a spell to
lock the door as he flew down the front steps and down the
sidewalk.
The moment he got behind a tall bush out of the sight of their
nosey neighbors, he shifted to his half dragon form and flew the
rest of the way to the museum.
He got there just as the cop cars pulled up outside the
building. With a colorful curse he hid behind a tree, folding
his wings before turning them invisible.
"Is there a problem officer?" He asked approaching one of the
men that climbed out of the cars.
"It's none of your concern, get back sir."
Zarik stepped back and dialed up Tael'c. "Well they're outside
with me. So..don't resist, I'll deal with it when they're
outside with you," he said softly before hanging up.
-fin-
Tael’c explained Ayyub and the mailboxes and running off with
the 18 year old to the museum. Course by the time his mate came
the cops were there already.
“Wonderful.. now we are about to have some cops come in- don’t
worry too much as my husband is out there so he will take care
of things.” He told him before hearing movement and a call out.
“This never gets old.. reminds me of the time I protested the
apple tree staying up 100 years ago.” He said to chuckle as he
went to move out.
Of course the cuffs were out and he two being guided out. The
elf simply telling them he was keeping Ayyub from being beaten
by a dwarf due to their strength. He saw Zarik with a look of
relief as he wondered what he was going to do to get him out of
this one.
—fin—
When the cops came in, Ayyub didn't listen to the high elf,
making it nice and difficult to cuff him. The teen even biting
an officer. He was all kinds of strung up by the time theybwere
guiding him out with the elf. Even fully restrained, he still
was fighting to get free.
The moment attention was off of him though, he was quick to slip
out of his cuffs and try and make a run for it. This got three
cops running after the athletic teen. Even in his past life,
Ayyub wasn't one to just let things happen to him.
-fin-
Zarik waited silently as the cops dragged the two out of the
museum. It wasn't all that surprising that Ayyub was fighting
and struggling while Tael'c was calm and cool headed.
And then things got more chaotic when teen Ayyub got out of his
hand cuffs and tried to make a run for it.
Zarik's eyes flashed and he moved to erupt a magical barrier
over the area and then froze the cops in their steps. He moved
inside the barrier and caught Ayyub before he could run into it.
"No need to panic," he said soothingly and then motioned for
Tael'c to join them.
Once both were next to him, Zarik began to chant and unleashed a
spell that cleared the policemen's memories of everything they'd
seen and heard.
"Let's go. They'll unfreeze in another few minutes. Probably
best if you lay low for a bit," he said looking over Ayyub's
grubby appearance. "You look hungry, you like pancakes?" He
asked with a friendly grin.
--fin--
Tael’c watched as the teen struggled- it brought way too many
memories. Course he walked out as the cops found it strange that
he was cooperating after running off with Ayyub.
Course when the teen made a run for it was ready to call out to
stop. He relaxed to see zarik stop the teen.
He went over as he worked at the cuffs and neatly put it on a
cop to pat and walk by his mate.”mmhmm.. you might wanna do the
dwarf along the way..” he murmured as he smirked.
“I owe you a big thank you later..” he said to zarik with a
smirk.
His face changed a bit to a more refined look.”it’ll be more
than just food- interested in the work you saw in my office?” He
asked as he eyed Ayyub.
—fin—
Seeing magic erupt around him, freezing the people chasing him
and a seeming barrier appear had Ayyub freaking out as he tried
to keep running only to be snagged by a *dragon*. He could help
his gulp and fear in his eyes. He would have never guessed the
high elf was married to a **dragon**. He was taken off guard by
the soothing way the dragon spoke, the high elf seemingly
showing no fear in the slightest.
Then cane the subject of wiping memories and food. It was a lot
to take in. Especially when the elf mentioned him being
interested in the work he say. "I um... yeah... I like
pancakes... and... um... yeah... the... papers I was looking at
was interesting..." He answered, overwhelmed by strange feelings
that he couldn't place. He felt like he knew these two but
didn't understand how.
-fin-
"of course there's a dwarf involved. Yeah, I can deal with
that," Zarik replied with a shake of his head.
He raised an eyebrow and smirked back at Tael'c saying he owed
him big. "Can't wait for that, sexy," he purred and winked at
his husband.
Hearing Tael'c ask the teen about the work he'd seen had Zarik
look amused.
His grip on the teen eased a bit, though he didn't let go. He
could see the poor kid was rather frightened and overwhelmed
after seeing his magic and realizing that he was a dragon.
Even though this Ayyub was far younger and looked different,
there was no denying that he was their missing mate. Though it
was far too soon to be telling this teen about everything. One
couldn't really drop that sort of bombshell on a youngster.
"It would probably be safer for you if you came back to our
house and lay low for awhile. Where's this dwarf that needs a
memory adjustment? I'll deal with that and then we can walk
back,"
He gently tugged Ayyub and Tael'c through the barrier and
followed their directions to the dwarf's home. Along the way he
fixed the mailboxes so there wasn't any evidence of a crime.
"You know if you like destroying stuff, I've got stuff that
needs smashing. You could help me with that," he suggested
glancing at Ayyub with a faint smile.
Once he'd adjusted the dwarf's memory, the three headed back to
the house. It wasn't super fancy, as neither of them wanted to
draw too much attention.
"After food, we'll give you a tour," Zarik said leading the way
into the kitchen and pulled out the food he'd left in the oven.
He fussed a bit over Ayyub, making sure he had what he wanted
before sitting down and eating his own food.
"I was thinking of making Italian tonight. What would you both
prefer? Lasagna, a ziti bake, or fettuccini Alfredo?" He asked,
glancing at them both.
He'd become a bit more domesticated over the past few years and
found he enjoyed cooking and taking care of Tael'c. They quite
often cooked dinner together every night.
--++
Tael’c made a chuckle softly. He got his flirty look right back
to the dragon. The two seemed to be on the same mindset for
Ayyub - telling him on the fly would be a lot and he wanted the
teen to see the work he had done in his previous life- hoping it
might tug at his brain a little.
He walked with his mate and the one that had reincarnated to
stand by Ayyub as Zarik did his spell to manipulate the dwarf’s
memories, and fixing the mailboxes. Once at home did Tael’c
settled. How he loved the home they had.. they tried their best
to adjust as the surroundings changed.
“Mm I’m fine with anything- but we do have a guest hm? So what
are you craving?” He asked the tee. As he sat in his chair as he
looked the teen over a little.
—fin—
While Ayyub was uncertain of the pair, he gave to protest,
verbal or otherwise, when he was tugged along. The elf and
dragon on either side of him at points, as if they were anxious
about him running off. To be fair, it was a valid worry, but he
didn't understand what they wanted with him. It was,
disappointing to see the dragon fix all the broken, though was
extremely impressed. The mention of breaking thing had him
raising an eyebrow at the idea. He was even more impressed when
the dragon messed with the mind of the dwarf.
"Okay..." He agreed when he was promised a tour after food.
Having the dragon fuss over him had the teen blushing, not used
to such treatment. Then the mention of dinner and him being
their guest had him looking at the well off married couple like
they had a few screws loose.
"I um.... I'm not picky.... how... long are you... expecting me
to be here?" He questioned, unsure of this entire situation.
-fin-
After having been looking and seeking Ayyub for so lone
together, Zarik and his elf mate had long learned how to read
one another's facial and physical cues. Though it wasn't hard to
pick up on Ayyub being flighty and wary of them, even if they
had helped him.
Zarik smiled a bit, thinking teen Ayyub was quite adorable when
he blushed at being fussed over. He couldn't hold back the laugh
that spilled out at the look that Ayyub shot at him and Tael'c.
"Course you aren't picky. You are welcome to stay as long as
you'd like Ayyub. No judgements, no expectations, no pressure.
You can come and go, consider it a safe place for you when you
need it. It would probably be smart to stick around for a little
while today at least. At least through dinner. Though we do have
a guest room if you'd like to stay longer."
Though Zarik itched to ask about the teen's living situation, he
knew it would be better to let Tael'c get the information slowly
out of the teen. While he'd worked on his temper and patience
over the past several hundred years, Tael'c had always been
better easing such information out of reluctant and wary kids or
teens.
--fin--
Tael’c watched as Ayyub looked around and agreed with
zarik.”dinner would be fine probably be best for a bit anyway.”
Said the elf as he moved a bit.”and as zarik said we do have
room if you want a place to stay- unless you have a parent that
will worry?” He asked as he settled in his seat. He grabbed a
book to hold out.”this was my other mates book- the man learned
a lot of things- your welcome to it if you want to read it while
dinner is being made.” He said with a soft smile at the teen. He
didn’t blame him in the least of how he felt.
This Ayyub had no idea of who the two were. While he felt
thrilled to have found him- a pang would settle in his wish that
the man would recognize him.. or at least show a little behavior
of being at ease around him. “If you have questions about his
work- I don’t mind answering it.” He said with a smile.
—fin—
The laughter that rang out of the dragon followed by the man's
insisting there was no presser or expectations, or even
judgment. Being told he could come and go as he pleased felt
like a trap. People this nice didn't exist.
The elf seemed to echo his mate in agreement before giving Ayyub
an old hand written book that had clearly seen better days. If
he didn't know the man worked at the museum he would have found
it more weird.
He reluctantly took the book. "Thanks.... um... I live with my
dad..." He answered , the way he looked away from them when he
answered told oh his home life not being good.
The teen then opened the book and began to flip through it until
he saw a charcoal rubbing of the symbol the past Ayyub and
Tael'c had stumbled on when they met and found Zarik.
"What.. happened to your mate? This book looks so old..." He
commented as his eyes studied the imagine. The expression his
past self always got when he found something fascinating
plastered all over his features.
-fin-
The inflection in the teen's voice told Zarik everything he
needed to know about his home life not being a good one with his
father.
`I'm getting a **very** strong impression that his father may be
abusive,` Zarik telepathically sent to Tael'c as he ate his
breakfast.
His face twitched and then settled seeing the symbol that the
teen was looking at. His eyes shifted away at the question,
thinking of how to answer his reborn mate's question.
"He gave his life protecting us," he finally said, shooting a
saddened look at Tael'c. "He was quite an amazing man. I don't
think I'll ever forget him. You should eat, then we can show you
around," he suggested trying to keep from openly eying the young
man.
-fin-
Tael’c got a soft look at the teen as he felt for this
incarnation of his mate. His hand tightening on his fork in
response to the telepathic message from his mate. While he
seemed calm on the outside he would send right back..
*If we meet the man- gonna knock his block off.* he sent back.
Tael’c simply put his fork down and wiped his mouth as he heard
his mate answered and saw his expression.
But what got to him more was the expression Ayyub held.. one of
interest and wanting to learn more.
“My mate is correct- he died saving us, about 4000 years ago of
the Great Oasis War.. the man was apart of a tribe that was a
bit cutthroat but the man was hardly like the rest.” He said
before taking a drink. “He found knowledge to be the true wealth
of power.” He said as he went to rest on his hand with his head
as he eyed him a little bit compared to his mate.
—fin—
Hearing what had happened to their mate had Ayyub giving them a
look of sympathy. The idea of still loving someone from that
long ago was wild to the teen. He put the book down when the
food was placed in front of him and began to chow down like he
hadn't properly eaten in a week.
"So... do you two take in street rats often?" He questioned
trying to figure out their motive. The way the two kept looking
at him was giving him ideas of what they might be wanting and
given how attractive the two were he wasn't entirely against the
idea but then, getting involved with a couple could just be more
mess in his life.

*I'll hold him down for you,* Zarik replied, his eyes going a
bit dark before going back to the light blue they naturally
were.
He ached a bit more when Tael'c went on to give more specifics
on how long ago they'd lost their mate. The familiar pose that
Tael'c put himself in, had him smile slightly.
The teen's question had Zarik go still for a moment, realizing
their looks had been a bit too..revealing. *We need to figure
out a way to tell him the truth. I hate keeping it from him.*
"We've helped a few find homes and employment. We haven't
actually taken any into our own home for long periods. We've
mostly been short term housing to others. But..if you want to
stay, you're more than welcome."
--fin--
“Much like zarik mentioned we do help others in different ways..
honestly - you remind a lot of Ayyub to me- guess it was the
expression you held when you showed curiosity at the museum.” He
said with his eyes closing. “If there was anything that we held
value was the taught of the young being the future and your one
of them- your clearly very bright- how would you feel working
with me at the museum? “ he asked.”I can pay you well, and can
teach you whatever you’d like to learn or want to know, and much
like zarik mentioned- our home is open if you want to stay,” he
said his eye opening a little as he waited for ayyub's answer.
—fin—
The food on his plate was gone within minutes and Ayyub was
shocked at the men offering him to stay for more than a short
stent. Even offering him a job. He spent several moments
thinking over the offer.
"Suppose I could stay for a little while... a... job wouldn't be
unwelcome either.... might... need to grab a few things from
home..." He finally answered.
-fin-
Zarik couldn't help but reach to take Teal'c's hand under the
table to squeeze it while they waited for the teenager's reply.
He smiled, hiding the excitement he felt when the teen Ayyub
agreed to stay for awhile. "Then we'll take you to get your
things when you're ready to go," he replied and released
Teal'c's hand and quickly gathered up the dirty dishes and set
them in the sink.
"If there's anything you need that you don't have, just let us
know," he added. "Oh..I do need to stop for some groceries
after, if there's any foods you like I can get those as well,"
-fin-
Tael’c felt his heart about pound as he waited for ayyubs answer
to about burst when he heard the answer. He felt the hand to
smile softly before hearing zarik mentioning taking the teen for
his things.”as they say it’s faster with a few people.” He said
as he relaxed a bit as he listened to his mate fuss ever so much
over their reincarnated mate.
The memories of their time together swirled inside- how much he
wanted that again- but he knew he had to be patient.
“Indeed- don’t mind doing that in the least. Could use my car so
it’ll be easier to bring everything.” Said the high elf of his
clunker of a car he only used when carrying large things or
traveling distances.
—fin—
"We could go now... my dad is probably still passed out on the
couch right now...." Ayyub suggested. Deciding, they should
probably go now before his dad could wake up and try and stop
him from leaving. He got up and cleaned his hands and face with
a napkin after he had finished off the last of his drink.
Soon, the trio were on the road, headed to the adress the teen
had provided. The closer they got the more run down the city got
until they were driving through the slums. Soon, they pulled up
on the shack he called home.
"I'll be just a minute," he murmured before hopping out of the
car and hurrying inside. He tried to close the door quietly but
just opening it seemed to have been enough to wake his sleeping
father. The drunk on his feet and yelling at him the moment he
was heading upstairs. Ayyub rolled his eyes at the man.
"I don't have to take this,I'm leaving, I'll pack my shit and be
out of your hair for good." He finally snapped.
"Like fucking hell you are," the man started as he got hold of
his son and began to beat the ever loving hell out of him.
-fin-
Zarik was in agreement with Teal'c's saying it would be faster.
Though he also had the feeling that the teen's father might not
just let him go without a fight. He'd seen it happen many times
before.
"One of these days I'm getting you a new car," he muttered to
Teal'c as they headed off in his beat up car.
Zarik's demeanor grew more somber and wary as they headed into
the slums of the city. He couldn't help but feel relieved that
they'd be taking Ayyub away from this life..this decrepit place.
He had already taken off his seatbelt, intending on going in
when Ayyub slipped off and went in on his own.
"I don't like this one bit," he muttered, holding back and
worrying when the minute turned into several.
"We'd better go inside, now," he said and got out, hurrying to
fling the door open and rushed inside.
Seeing the huge man beating on Ayyub had him moving in to stun
the man with one blow to the back of his head.
"Stay down you piece of shit," he snarled before moving to
gather the poor bruised and bloodied Ayyub into his arms. He
focused his magic to heal Ayyub of his wounds for a moment,
before carrying the teen out of the house to the car. "Take care
of him and grab Ayyub's things," he told Teal'c as he passed his
mate.
If he hadn't been so worried about Ayyub's well being, he would
have gotten in on beating up the asshole father himself.
"You're safe now Ayyub, no one is ever going to hurt you again,"
he murmured, settling in the front and holding the teen close as
he unleashed more healing into the other's body.
--fin--
Tael’c chuckled at zarik.”this clunker been faithful! Why would
I get a new one when this one works so well?” He questioned with
his normal demeanor.
He wasn’t entirely affected with how things looked now. It was
simply a cycle that perpetuated with civilizations he knew it
was ticking time bomb for what would be another fall according
to not just Ayyub- but was nailed in by Jalal himself. Once Eden
showed it would mean the place would be destined to fall.
Once they pulled up did he hear Ayyub.”wait..” he said to feel
his voice falter- it was like him to try to tackle things on his
own- it was clear ayyubs ways hadn’t died entirely out with this
one.
“I don’t either.” He said opening his door to get out when he
heard zarik mention about going in now. He rushed with his lover
to see Ayyub being beaten.
Zarik intervened to make the man stunned. “Of course my love.”
He said digging in his pack to pull a fairly old silencing charm
as he stuck it to the door.
The stunned man cursed. To chuckle at the sound of a high elf
taking care of him. In the modern times they were still
considered reclusive and tend to go for long range attacks. And
given he seemed rather delicate in his build.. it seemed like a
joke.
Ayyub taught him one thing- as well as end- death was a release-
from fault, from the world itself- this man didn’t deserve that
kind of mercy.
“As an old friend would say- no one can hear you scream.” His
face plastered with a smile that seemed calm.. though inside he
was seething.
His hand shot out knocking the man down causing a shocked look.
He began to violently beat on the man as he tried to get away,
managing to scramble to the kitchen drunkenly.
The elf said calmly.”where’s his things?” To earn a fuck you and
to bring his son back.
“Wrong answer.” He said before he grabbed the beer bottle that
was half full among many, and thrown it. It was enough to see
the man try to run to trip on his own feet.
Tael’c stepped on the man’s back.”last time.” He said.
“Up stairs.. door to the left.”the man stammered.
“Good let’s go.” He said to drag the man up twisting his arm
behind him.
After making sure he had the right room he tugged the man by the
shirt.”my warning- get close to Ayyub again- I’ll make you beg
for death.” He said in a tone as his eye gave a gleam of
murderous intent. He would then knock the man out before
gathering ayyubs things, he stepped over the knocked out, and
beaten man to stop briefly and heal him enough with his tuning.
He then would walk down the steps as he grabbed his silencing
charm.
He would walk out with the things and put them in the trunk of
his car. He would walk around and slide in to the drivers seat.
He started the car to pull off heading their way home.
As they got to their home again he helped getting Ayyub in with
his things to get the room settled for Ayyub and comfortable.

Having his own father beat the hell out of him had been
something Ayyub had expected but what he could have never
predicted was Zarik rushing in to save him. The way the man
scooped him up and worked on healing him. He couldn't help but
cling to the man that hold him like this. He had expected Teal'c
to show some level of jealousy with the way Zarik was holding
him but it seemed the high elf was unfazed and only worried
about getting the teen home and settled.
The level of fussed over the pair gave Ayyub had him very red
faced. The pair acting like he was going to break into a
thousand pieces and disappear.
"I'm fine, you two don't need to fuss over me so much... ganna
start making each other jealous if you keep this up..." He said
when Zarik hadn't expected let him go since they got back.

Inwardly Zarik was cursing the teen Ayyub's father. It seemed
even in this lifetime his mate had a terrible father. If Teal'c
hadn't been dealing with the man, Zarik would have done far
worse to him.
It took the majority of his focus to heal the broken bones and
wounds Ayyub had gotten from his father's fists. Even after
they'd arrived at their home, Zarik couldn't bring himself
release Ayyub from the protection of his arms.
He raised an eyebrow at the teen's comment about them fussing
over him and making each other jealous because of it.
"You deserve a bit of fussing. And that's not going to happen
kid," zarik couldn't help but say with a shake of his head.
He reluctantly set the teen on the bed in the room that Teal'c
had moved Ayyub's things into. "I may have healed you, but you
still need to rest. If..there's anything you need just call for
one of us," zarik said stepping back to grab a blanket and put
it over Ayyub.
"Come on Teal'c, let's give him some space,"
Zarik fought the urge to lay next to Ayyub and cuddle him,
knowing that it was far too soon. The last thing he wanted was
to scare him off.

“There is no jealousy to be had, Ayyub. We’ve loved once and
still have room for one more,” he said, not wanting to force the
idea that he was the reincarnation of their lover. A complex mix
of emotions swirled within him, a bittersweet longing for a
connection that felt so close, yet somehow just out of reach.
“I’m a bit of a night owl, so if you wake up and want company,
you’ll find me in my study down the hall and to the left,” said
the elf. His gaze softened significantly as he watched Zarik
leave to follow. A sigh escaped his lips, and he closed his
eyes, his weariness evident—a look Zarik knew well.
Tael’c slept little these days, driven by a relentless
determination to uncover the secrets of how the Terranians
retained their memories and, more importantly, how to restore
them. The knowledge of his reincarnated partner being so near
yet feeling unattainable filled him with a quiet desperation.
“Think I’ll make some tea,” he murmured as he descended the
steps to the kitchen, seeking solace in the familiar routine.
