Arnar blinked and smiled at the boy.”I’ll ask him for sure.. “
he said and saw Eden perk up just a little. “That’s cool.. I
want him to talk to midnight and ask her why she let me close!”
She shot out as Arnar paled.”what was that.” She smiled
big.”midnight likes me! She let me pet her.”
Arnar made a strange look.”how- she almost never lets anyone
close but me- especially with a foal.” Now he wanted to know how
the child managed that! “I’ll be going on the double for that.”
He said as he walked off.
Eden had tilted her head at snow.”working with Solis? “ she
looked at him.”that’s my name don’t wear it out.” Solis
responded chuckling at her. He then heard snow and smiled
big.”oh you telling me stories this time?”
Solis then saw Adan to give a warm smile and shake the boys
hand.”hello new cuz! Need anything seek me out- I tend to be a
good listener- or so says Inga.”
Eden heard music to perk up.”private? But I get to go!! Ok..”
she said and went to walk with the boys to music.
Once the kids were gone Solis smacked Jalal on the back.”being a
dad is never easy.. how bout some tea old man?” He told the guy.
Jalal clicked his tongue.”I may be old but I don’t feel it.” He
said as he realized the boy was a tuner. It was clear he was
hiding it though from how he was.”yea sounds just fine thank
you.” He said as he was led off.

Music class rolled around and Eden seemed to be enjoying it. She
got to show her ocarina off some and played some tunes that snow
would recognize. Though it was hard to stay in place and not
dance according to how they did things in the castle. It still
felt so foreign to her and would take time to get use to.
As there was talk about singing she volunteered to sing a song
she knew and began to sing what was the hawk women’s celebratory
song after a fight.

Broke out of her cage, threw out the keys

Eden seemed to have cheered up quite a bit at this point, and
the teacher involved seemed impressed. Music was something Eden
enjoyed and it showed.

Arnar had just finished talking to the king and explained what
had happened.”the boy may of provoked her hitting him- by
deadnaming that young girl- twice.. we may need you to find out
from any animal that may of heard of it?” He asked.”if you
please my brother.”

Snow smiled upon hearing Eden's question and chuckled at Arnar's
reaction to hearing that Midnight had been friendly. "Eden's got
a special bond with animals..kind of like Father." He said
thoughtfully. "I'm sure he'll want to find out more,"
Adan relaxed a bit more but had the feeling he might still have
to fight or duel against Alexander in the future. At least the
boy would have to answer for deadnaming Eden. He was starting to
wonder if everything about Eden was magical. She seemed to have
a lot of abilities that were rare.
Snow grinned back at Solis, "Only if you want to hear them. I'm
sure you've got a few new ones yourself. This time we can
exchange stories,"
Adan glanced up at the very tall Solis, blinking a bit at how
friendly the older teen was being. He gave a smile back to him
and shook the offered hand. It was a bit surreal to hear Snow
calling him his brother. "Nice to meet you Solis," He said,
smiling. "I'll do that."
They were soon heading off with Eden; Snow taking the lead to
get them to the different room of the castle. This one was a
large airy room, with high ceilings and filled with musical
instruments of all kinds. In one corner there were large windows
that were open letting fresh air inside.
A woman with reddish brown skin and an interesting accent
greeted them, introducing herself as Lacriyl, but telling them
to call her Laci. She was dressed in brightly colored robes and
had some sort of long tapered stick burning that made the room
smell like cinnamon.
After they'd introduced themselves, Laci asked Eden what
instrument she could play. It was quite fun to listen to Eden
playing her ocarina. Laci asked them to sit in a small circle
around her and began to talk to them about singing.
"Oh yes, please do share a song. I love hearing songs from
different cultures," Laci said with a bright smile and the boys
went quiet to listen to Eden's song.
Snow was taken back to the nights he'd spent in the desert,
hearing the Hawk women's songs from outside their campgrounds.
He couldn't help but miss it a bit.
"That was beautiful Eden. You have a great voice." Laci praised.
"now..what about you two? Adan, do you play any instruments?"
"I can play stringed instruments pretty well," Adan said softly
and glanced around at the displayed instruments around the room.
He got up to pick up a small lyre and began to play slowly.
After a bit, he changed to a lullaby he remembered from his
childhood. One that his nanny had sung to him at night.
"I can read music a little, most of the music I know is from ear
though," He added as he started to put the lyre back.
"Keep it, practice when you have free time," Laci told him.
"We'll work on reading music notes soon, but playing by ear is a
good skill to have. I know Snow does the same,"
Snow nodded and got up to retrieve the silver flute he'd left
behind on his trip. "I'll have to bring my penny whistle for the
next class. I learned a few ditties from the soldiers and people
I saw during my travels," He told his teacher.
Then Snow began playing a fae song he'd heard from one of the
halflings he'd met. Adan felt a strange chill go through him,
and ducked his head down, not understanding why the song was
affecting him so much.
"It has a very haunting melody, and sounds like a lament of some
kind," Laci mused out loud when Snow had finished. "Well, I am
quite excited to get you all ready to play for the ceremony this
weekend. As you know, Snow will be going through his animal
bonding. I was if I could have some students play for it.
Snow..would have to go first before the ceremony starts. Then
maybe Eden you could play a song..and Adan. you could do one at
the end."
Adan paled slightly, thinking of playing in front of a huge
crowd of people. Would he be able to do that? "I-I..could we do
a duet instead?" Adan pleaded, feeling rather panicky already.
Snow shot a concerned look at Adan. "You don't have to play if
you don't want to," He assured him.
Laci could see the boy was looking pale and shaking a bit. "It
was a thought..but if crowds aren't your thing..please don't
think I'd force you into playing. I'll finish, and play an
original on the harp instead. If you feel up to playing with
Snow or Eden, we could find a song that works."
Adan closed his eyes and took a few deep breaths. "Okay..yeah. I
can't say for sure if I can get up in front of people and play
on my own. It'd be easier to play with Eden or Snow. Can..can I
get a glass of water?"
Laci let them all go, saying she'd see them the day after next,
and got ready for her next few students. She had thought she
might need to talk with the Queen about Adan's anxiety and fear
of crowds.

Caltharas had been getting things together before he and Tahvia
were to leave for their trip to the Fae Queen's realm when Arnar
had interrupted and asked to speak to him. He'd nodded and
listened silently, his eyes flashing several times during his
brother's explanation.
He stood, flexing his hands, a solemn and frustrated look on his
face. "This isn't the first time I've heard of the squire's
bullying others," He sighed. "He thinks that no one notices..or
cares what he does to those lower than him."
Caltharas moved to his desk, pulled a paper out and scribbled
something down on his personal paper head, and then put the
quill back. "Walk with me," He said and then headed out of his
office, through the castle and kitchen, and paused when he saw a
dog resting by the back door close to the garbage dump.
Hello Bruno, may I ask you a question, faithful friend? He asked
as he sat on the ground next to the older graying dog.
The dog's eyes opened slowly and its tail thumped when he saw
the man.
Of course my friend, ask away,
Did you hear or see anything earlier in here or by the dump?
Perhaps something involving Alex the Squire?
The dog huffed, the fur on its neck standing up and letting out
a low growl before speaking to the man.
That brat tripped a young girl, made her break plates..and then
called her clumsy. After that, he followed her out and dumped
trash on her..twice! He said horrible things..calling her by a
name that wasn't hers. She was crying! He deserves to be beaten!
And turned out on his collar! Plus..he kicked me twice
yesterday, The old dog let out a snarl, very much upset. My ribs
still hurt,
The emperor's eyes flashed, going a bright red as anger coursed
through him. He glanced up at Arnar and then pet the old dog on
his head gently.
"Cook Jo, see to it that my friend here gets a nice steak for
dinner..and find him a comfortable bed for the night." He told
the plump man that had come out of the kitchen behind him.
"Yessir. Does Ol Bruno prefer beef? Or would he like a mutton
chop? I know he's partial to those."
Caltharas couldn't help but smile at the man's response. He
spoke to Bruno again and then relayed the dog's response. "He
says he'd like the mutton and some broth too."
"Happy to treat the ol' boy. I was wondering if ye might mind
asking him if he'd like to go home and stay with me, my missus,
and the kids. He doesn't move like he used to. Looks like he was
hurting this morning."
The dog's tail was already wagging as he looked up at the man
with a loving look in his eyes.
"I think that should answer your question. He very much wants to
do that." Caltharas said as he stood up. "Try to be gentle; he
was kicked. Don't worry, the miscreant will be dealt with."
He motioned Arnar to follow after him. Once they were alone he
confirmed that the dog had backed up Eden's story, even
witnessing her being tripped by the squire. "This being his
second strike; I think merits a suspension and downgrade from
the squire. He thinks he can get away with his actions and
that's troubling. If it happens again..he and his parents won't
be welcome here."
He wrote out his verdict on the paper and folded it, sealing it
with wax, and pressed his insignia ring into it. "Take Halder
with you when you deliver this. Maybe two of the hawk warriors
as well. They need to know how serious I am." The Emperor said
as he handed it over to Arnar. "Tahvia and I will be going out
for a rendezvous tonight..we won't be gone too long. Maybe a day
or less. I'd like you and Halder to keep an eye on
the kids while we're gone. I'll have one of the other dogs keep
an eye on the squire and report back to me if anything more
happens. "

Solis chuckled.”of course cuz, should tell you about the griffin
that tried to take John not too long ago- he’s fine- had lots of
fun flying though.” He joked a little.
Once he watched the kids run off, he’d figured he’d go find the
swords teacher and whoever did languages- those classes he
figured she’d benefit doing some stuff on site. He knew the boys
would have their hands full given snow being royalty and Adan
being the adopted son- he figure they’d beable to try stuff like
that later when the king felt comfortable to do so- well the
merchant stuff and learning how to speak with those with
different dialects.
Meanwhile, Arnar had bowed to the king and took the letter.”As
you see fit my liege…also just asking for later…mind talking to
midnight- Eden said that she let her pet her. I wanna know
how-given she just had a foal and been nipping and aggressive to
those that haven’t been me?” He asked.He then learned of the man
going off and understood.”I will be sure of it my king-please
keep safe.” He said with a smile.
The man managed to make it to the practice grounds in time to
see Arnar, Halder, Jalal - as Arnar felt the man should see it
happen with some hawk women guards. He also requested his
brother tact on an apology given Eden had apologized without
knowing the full story on his own.
Alexander was enjoying his glow seemed to fawn over him and saw
Haldar and Arnar with his parents who looked pale and angry
themselves. He saw their faces and paled a bit to straighten up
as they approached. “Sir.” He said to Haldar respectfully before
Arnar spoke.”young man- dead naming is considered to be a
crime.. and you did break it- given your age- you will be
demoted and suspended for a little while. I also suggest an
apology- granted may not be accepted after we have learned
today. With that you’re going to learn something about dead
naming- and why you can’t just use it so freely.” He said.
”for us- we all know some people go by different names for their
own safety- such as witnesses to a crime, or fleeing a warring
country seeking asylum.. in this case though it’s a culture you
insulted. I brought the girls father to give you that lesson as
I feel you need it if you ever go to the desert.” He said and
motioned for Jalal.”here I heard for an adult it’s a mere 10
lashings. In the desert it hangs a lot more harshly.. depends on
who you run into.” Said Jalal and knelt to the boys level and
yanked his mask off - granted while angry was to be scary for
the boy.
Alexander was met with glowing angry eyes and stepped back.”but
had this been my old tribe- you would of been exiled with
practically nothing- eventually you’d strip your own past away
to start anew- that is what we do.” He then got a bit in the
boys face.”in the fanatics I know they kill on the spot- but
most I know would beat one within the inch of their own life.”
Alexander paled.
“You got lucky all you walked away with was a broken nose, a
brief suspension and demotion-and the fact this is auldora.”
Jalal said and tied his mask on his eyes.”learn your lesson
boy.” He said to turn and walked off with the men, as they took
Alexander to wait for Eden to finish classes.

Eden listened she couldn’t help but not only feel sad and
longing- but great loss. She had been quiet for a little taking
in what she heard before snapping out of it at talk of a
performance and saw how Adan was.”I don’t mind a duet.. if I can
dance while I sing..” Eden said shy like. She saw how Adan was
and decided to speak up some.
“they say when one duets with the desert folk you get a little
less afraid of crowds.” Said eden with a small smile.”and if I
sing is it okay if I dance as well? Story is done with not just
the voice but the body as well.. music is kind of like breathing
to me.” Said eden. She scratched her cheek shy like though. She
wondered how big the thing would really be.”it’s part of
everyday life for me.. it’s not always used for celebrations-
sometimes we use it as a form of communication too.” Eden said
honestly.
Class finished up, and the day with the boys winded down. Eden
heard Jalal call for her as it was time to go, that and she
noticed Halder to stiffen a little before approaching seeing
Arnar. She told snow and Adan thank you for cheering her up, and
gave both a hug. She saw Alexander looking a bit angry and he
bowed as she heard.”I’m sorry for doing what I did- and most of
all dead naming you.” He paused to feel eyes.”Eden.” Eden made a
serious look and sighed as he looked a little to see her real
mask in her hand. She took it off to send a message to the boy,
as Jalal seemed a bit suprised she did so.
Arnar was stunned at the eyes he was seeing- most believed
haldar was kissed by the gods- no doubt one would think it of
her as well. Her cerulean eyes though were looking angry despite
looking a bit hurt. Alexander was also gaping just a little at
what he saw before hearing her next words quite bluntly.”I don’t
accept! “ he reacted as predicted by Jalal. Alexander asked
.”why?!?”
Eden continued.”’cause you did the unforgivable.” Said Eden
hotly.”Ayla is a name of someone that died long ago in the sands
of the desert- you stepped all over the dead without thinking-
while insulting my new life!” Eden crossed her arms and turned
her nose up.”now go away. I’m done!” She said and felt her hand
grabbed to head her way home watching the boys parents taking
Alexander’s hand as he seemed a bit shell shocked. Eden tied her
mask back on and skipped a bit looking at Jalal who also
apologized.”no you were being careful- like snow said.” She said
with a smile.
Dinner was eaten and the two turned in after some help with some
homework. Eden slept as soundly as she could, though whimpering
through the nightmares of the past would come and go as it went.

Morning rolled around, and Jalal was practicing with the boys
some - having Katsu assist with Eden’s sharp movements and
schooling her a bit on lightning. She had learned her movements
was right- but she hadn’t properly pointed and more or less to
never point up as it would strike her.
Once she had it down- with Katsu near by for any need to
intervene she managed to strike the pole the right way. She also
managed to do it without having a whole lotta bang which helped.
Eden felt a bit lighter than before enjoying herself and
giggling during katsu’s class given she was catching on quickly,
and not having to be corrected as much. Though she gotten a
stern look or two about being quieter.
Eden and the boys headed to breakfast as she could smell the
food. She was hungrier than normal as she didn’t eat much at
dinner due to the emotional rollercoaster of a day she had.
“Mmmm this is good!” Eden commented at the blueberry pancakes.
As she ate she noticed a blonde haired girl kinda walking slowly
and seemed sad. She wondered if it was cause of what happened to
Alexander since they seemed friendly. Eden felt on edge a little
wondering how that girl was not knowing she was a sweet and kind
girl. The reason for her being down was a result of being told
about Alexander and that she had to stop seeing him outside of
things.
Eden turned back and ate some more as she seemed to be in
thought clearly. She heard a hollow noise again and Her whirling
around no longer admonishing the creature. It more or less
seemed to follow at times and kept out of the way. It nudged a
little at Adan’s hand to get him to pet it as it grown to love
the feel of the boy’s hand. It made a hollow noise to shift its
stone head-while the floating ear seemed to flop a little as it
did so.

The girl had gone early to sword practice to take it out on a
dummy. She was more than disgusted at what Alexander did-but she
felt very hurt as she held feelings for the boy. She felt
stupid, and was feeling down about the fact.
Glow got her practice stick to wack at a board to watch it swing
and dodged. After that she didn’t think anyone else would want
to be her friend given how she was with Alexander. She hit the
board harder and dodged to turn the wrong way distracted by her
thoughts and it swung just enough to hit her face.
She held it a little tearing up only to just get upset. She
started wacking at the board a bit harder as she managed to
break the practice sword due to its own wear. As she did so she
mumbled in a language that was not auldora but from the hawk
women’s camp.
“Swearing off boys for the rest of my life.” She swore her oath
to herself-as she just went to grab another practice sword to
toss the other away.

Once full they were met with a cheery Solis, and khali- the man
didn’t manage to snag the other teen the other night due to him
being out.”Yes I got full permission from jalal and everything-
even got him to make a note last night before dinner.”Said Solis
showing it to khali as he seemed to be somewhat cranky.”Fine
just not during the practicals, and definitely not during the
checkup from the Anubi to see how it’s going.” Solis
chuckled.”got it got it!” He said before seeing the boys, and
noted how Eden seemed rather fine holding hands with both.
“Hey beanpole, and bookworm.” He said winking at the two. He had
noticed how Adan would go to the library to read, given he would
go for a book himself time to time. Kinda felt good he wasn’t
the only one that read a lot. “Hey Wild child-Got permission for
you to play hooky-“ he started to see khali’s face, and
corrected his words.”To go in town with me. I gotta get you set
up to work with me..requires some listenin’ though.” Said Solis
before seeing the mask practically being ripped off.”I PROMISE I
WILL LISTEN!” She practically shouted in excitement. She tied it
back after as she calmed down a little.
“Well better say bye to your boyfriends.” He teased a bit to
watch as Adan clearly was beat red while snows ears gave him
away. Eden blinked”Well they are my friends and they are boys.”
She said cheerfully despite the fact her own ears were giving
her away themselves. She gave the two a hug and was scooped up
to be carried off on his shoulders and her laughing.”See ya
later!” She called out rather happily.
Solis figured some time away from the castle in the markets
would do her some good. Especially after the rollercoaster day
she had from what he had learned. Solis waved at Haldar as he
made his way out with the small girl after stopping by jalal’s
home for him to give her a bag of weak stones to use, out of
protection and they headed out.
Eden looked around as she walked with Solis out the gates. She
clung to the teen’s hand as she was let down before they headed
out. He had his claymore sword on his back as he held the girls
hand. He learned a few things from khali before they left about
how she fought to make sure he’d look into making swords for her
at some point. The sounds of people talking as they passed, and
more was interesting for Eden. She only seen how cluttered
tribes were-but something this massive was a bit intimidating.
Eden smelled something really good from a food stall and Solis
took note to stop. “Hey mind if I get two of those
donuts..Chocolate please.” He said as he took some wrapped with
a paper to give her one. Eden’s head tilted left and then right
to bite into the soft warm food and made a surprised look.”This
is good…” she licked her lips free of chocolate icing. “This is
a donut…can we do this more?” She asked. Solis gave a warm
look.”Yeah we can make this a routine thing for our trips.” He
said and took her hand after they finished eating and cleaned
their hands.
Eden wanted to run ahead-but given events decided listening was
best as she didn’t want to mess up this opportunity. The
greenery was bright and colorful, the houses and buildings were
artistic and bright themselves drawing her in some. Solis
stopped at what looked like a building with a Sheild and two
swords through the back.”Well we are here for this today…gotta
get you registered.” Eden’s head turned to look at
him.”Registered?” She asked.
Solis explained.”This is for you to do odd jobs, I’ll be here to
make sure nothing happens..but most kids your age outside the
kingdom register here-most want to adventure or more after. You
get money out of it too.” He told her.”I’ll buy what you need
for now-to start you off.” Solis said winking.”It helps having
our own money and it feels good having it hm?” He asked.
Eden seemed quiet as she didn’t mind the idea of making
money-and getting Snow a gift for his ceremony. “Y..yeah! I want
to!” Eden said and held his hand some to walk in. Solis was
looking around when he saw Zan. He gave a wave to see the man,
Eden saw this to look up and over to see the blonde making his
way over. She saw the man kiss Solis, and it looked funny to
her. Solis was blushing hard and made a small gasp to feel it
deepen before parting. “What was that?” He heard the small girl
ask.”It looked like he was sucking your face off!” Solis
stammered some and introduced the girl.”This is Eden, let’s
just say she’s my kid sister.” Solis said joking a little.Eden
made a face.”Kid sister? “ she started to see a look to shut up
immediately. She was told that he had an alias, and not to
mention Solis. Which so far she had done well.

Snow was starting to get the feeling that maybe it was too much
pressure to have Adan perform during his ceremony. He was about
to say something when Eden spoke up in a shyer tone than he'd
heard from her before.
Laci gave Eden a smile, listening as the young girl explained
that dancing and singing went together in the culture she'd
grown up in. "I don't see why you couldn't sing and dance. If
doing a song together would help you with your stage fright
Adan, then you can do that."
Adan had felt his anxiety lessen; shooting a grateful look at
Eden for agreeing to play with him. "It would help," He said
wishing he could just get over his fear of crowds. "Thanks,
Eden."
He and Snow followed her out of the classroom, talking about
what they would name their kittens when they go them when they
heard Jalal calling for Eden. Snow raised an eyebrow seeing that
both his uncles were waiting with the man, as well as Alexander.
"Something must have happened already," Snow murmured. "you're
welcome Eden," He replied and hugged her back.
"Anytime. Thanks for agreeing to a duet," Adan added.
Snow tugged on Adan's sleeve and they started to leave, or so
Adan thought. Instead, Snow pulled him down behind a bush so
they could listen in. It was a bit satisfactory to hear
Alexander apologizing, and Eden not accepting it. "Serves him
right," Adan muttered. Snow nodded in agreement.
"Come on. let's go," Snow said pulling Adan up and leading the
way back to the castle.

It was much later that evening when Snow was awoken to the sound
of Adan crying out. Snow slipped out of his bed and went to open
the door between their rooms. When he saw Adan tossing and
turning, his soft cries and pleas for someone to stop..had
Snow's fists curling.
"Adan, it's okay, you're safe," Snow said softly moving to
gently shake the boy.
The younger boy's face smoothed out for a moment, and then twist
back up when Snow removed his hand. Snow let out a soft sigh and
then pulled the blankets back and slid in next to Adan. He
wrapped an arm over the other's body and curled up close.
Adan's breathing slowed, his tossing body stilled and he let out
a soft sigh turning to rest his head against Snow's.
Snow was soon fast asleep again, not moving until the morning
beckoned through the slightly cracked curtains of Adan's window.

Adan was a bit confused as to why Snow was in his bed the next
morning, and why he was curled up on the other's chest.
"Snow..what are you doing in here?" He asked yawning and rubbing
his eyes.
Snow glanced out of the window and was out of his bed in
seconds. "Shit...we're gonna be late. Get dressed!"
Adan blinked and then followed the order, pulling on his Gi and
then following Snow out to their training with Jalal and Katsu.
Training went all right, Adan doing a bit better than the day
before. His stomach was rumbling loudly as they made their way
to breakfast.
"Yeah, they are," Adan replied nearly scarfing down his plate
and then politely asking for more.
Snow chuckled, watching Adan, feeling a bit more protective of
him after seeing and hearing what he'd said in his nightmare. He
wasn't sure how to broach the subject though. Especially with
Eden around.
"Looks like you have a new friend," He said spying on Sulo
nudging Adan's hand.
Adan smiled and patted and scratched the stone fox. "I guess so.
Hey little guy,"
Once they were all full, and heading out of the dining room,
Snow spied Solis and Khali approaching. Snow didn't mind the

Adan wrinkled his nose. "Hay is for horses," He replied, making
Snow shake his head and laugh. "Relax..bookworm is one of the
good nicknames you can get from Solis,"
Adan was a little jealous hearing that Eden was going to get to
work with Solis and then flushed super red when the guy teased
Eden, calling him one of her boyfriends. "I'm not.." He started
to argue then went silent when Eden agreed. He looked a bit
shocked and surprised when she gave him a hug and got whisked
off by Solis.
He did manage to wave goodbye to Eden.
"Just..go with it. It's easier," Snow said as he draped an arm
over Adan's shoulders. "So..this morning..you asked me
something."
Adan got an odd look on his face. "Yeah..why were you in my
bed?"
"You were having a nightmare...I tried to wake you. Then when I
touched you, you stopped taking and calmed down. So...I figured
If I stayed, it would help you sleep better," Snow replied,
hoping that Adan wouldn't be weirded out by it.
Adan blinked then let out a sigh. "Yeah...I have had them in the
past too. Thanks for staying with me."
Snow frowned slightly, wondering what had brought on the
nightmares. "Maybe you should tell someone else about them,"
Adan got a worried look on his face and leaned into Snow a bit
more. "Maybe...I just..can it wait for a bit?"
"All right, When mother and Father return, you can tell them
then."
Adan nodded, remembering that they'd left the night before. He
wondered what they were really doing. The story they'd told them
about getting a special gift for Snow's ceremony seemed a bit
fishy to him.

Having finally completed checking over his small airship, Zan
had decided to scour the market and see if Solis was around. He
was quite looking forwards to their time together. Usually, they
met in random places and he was happy to get to see more of
Audora for a change.
Zan's face brightened when he spied Solis and the younger man
waved at him. His attention was so focused on his boyfriend,
that he didn't see the little girl next to him. He grabbed
Solis' face and kissed him deeply. giving a quite involved
exploration of his mouth. He let out a soft moan before pulling
back at the sound of a little girl's voice.
Zan chuckled at the question from the girl and how flustered
Solis was. "Oh come on Aeither," He said shaking his head.
"Kid., that's what kissing is like between boyfriends.
Or..girlfriends..or someone you really care about and love," he
added, covering the other pairings that popped into his mind.
"Nice to meet you, Eden," The blonde man squatted in front of
her and held out a hand. "What's Aether fed you so far? Have you
tried the rat on a stick?" He asked in a teasing tone. "I jest.
It's actually chicken..it just looks like it's a rat," He said
with a wink and then stood up and stole another kiss from Solis.
"So..got the kid sister tagging along then? Shall we show her
some of the sights? Oh...I bet Eden would love to see the
knick-knacks in the Chinea area," He suggested and then pulled
his long hair up off of his neck and tied it. He ran rather hot,
so he was wearing his shirt unbuttoned and hanging loose, his
bare chest a bit shiny from his work.

Eden blinked as the man told her about kissing. Adan and Snow
flashed a crossed her mind as she seemed to think a bit.
Eden blinked.”he fed me a donut- I’ve had lizard- it tastes like
chicken too.” She said with a smile. “And nice to meet ya too!
Eden watched the man kiss Solis as he blushed more and put his
hand in front of his face.”first register then we can explore on
our way to a job.”
Eden managed for the man to blush full body as she said.”you
must really really love him!”
After a bit of paperwork and finding a small farming job began
their walk together. Eden seemed more than enthralled in the
city as she stayed close but seemed to climb everywhere as they
walked some. Making their way to Zan’s airship to head to the
small island.
As they went they got on zan’s small airship, and Eden seemed to
enjoy looking at all the ships flying around.”oooo a dove!” She
said watching it fly by. Eden was hyper clearly as she crawled
around the ship with Solis sitting her down a few times.
They finally reached Chinea market to explore. Eden’s little
face lit up at seeing some stuff that looked interesting, Solis
had went to a blacksmith to let Zan watch after her to come back
with some blades- or rather base of it.”may be a bit rough but
it’s tougher than the fancier stuff.” He said as he made sure it
was around her size.”I’ll teach ya out to modify and everything
later.” Said the man as Eden’s head turned.”modify?”
Solis explained that good weapons can wear, but modifying
existing ones to suit oneself was being resourceful.”the fact
you dual weild means you could try to make it multipurpose with
a bow.” He explained as Eden’s mouth formed an O.
They went back on zan’s airship to finally make it to an island
that looked not so populated, and had a lot of farm land. Eden
leaned over the side making Solis panic a little to sit her
down.”you don’t wanna drop!” He said to her.”do I need to take
you back?”
Eden froze.”no!” She said with a panicked expression of her own.
She settled down and soon was off the airship running toward the
farm with Solis and Zan walking leisurely.
The trio had a look around a fenced area that did have cows, It
looked like the monster had done damage to the farmers fence and
animals that were housed there. Chunks of meat were missing in
places were evident.
“Alright Eden- these rabivores are a bit dangerous. “ warned
Solis.”keep an eye out and take the opening when you see it.”
Eden nodded as she walked with the other two to spread out a
little. Finding rather large holes half the size of eden.
She looked at a hole and heard someone say to not hang her head
over the hole. She backed up and thought a moment to get some
left over meat from them
Killing the cows to hang it over the hole with an aid of the
sturdy stick. She yanked it quickly as if she was fishing to
make it leap out. She used one of the blades Solis had bought
her to run it through.”I got it!” She said with a smile to see
Solis making a chuckle at seeing her problem solve.”smart way to
do that- I’ll borrow that method.” He said.
It didn’t take too much time, to get the creatures but helping
fix the fence and farmers land was a bit of a job. Eden seemed
to thrive off of it. She held the fence for Solis with Zan’s
help and watched him manage to fix it.”there we go.. hungry?” He
asked as Eden nodded enthusiastically.”I’m hungry- we going
back?” Eden asked
Solis said.”nope- I know a tavern that’s got good food.” Said
Solis with a chuckle.
They arrived to sit down and began to eat with zan.”so… I had a
question for you- would you come see my family?.. could do it
tomorrow?” He asked as they ate more.

Zan raised an eyebrow at hearing that Solis had fed the girl a
donut. "Did he now?" He nodded when she told him about lizards
tasting like chicken. "Oh...I know. I've eaten them before,
Quite tasty,"
Zan laughed a bit seeing his boyfriend blush even more. He
sometimes forgot how young Solis was, and that he was still
getting used to public displays. "Right..good idea. I'll help
too." Zan said cheerfully.
"Yes, I do," Zan said in a very serious tone.
Zan couldn't help but smirk a bit as he watched the young girl
climbing all over while they made heir way back to the dock.
"Maybe you should have asked if she'd ever had sugar before," He
whispered to Solis.
Though she was wearing different clothing; he could tell from
her mask that she'd lived in the desert. He'd traveled far and
wide, but Audora held a great deal more cultures than any other
place. Though..it was Solis that had brought him here.
Zan couldn't help but watch how Solis dealt with the oversugared
hyped-up Eden on his ship, chuckling a few times. He had the
feeling that if they decided to have kids one day that the
younger man would make a great father. He got his ship tied
down at the dock and went with them to the Chinea market,
watching Eden stop to look at everything she could. A few of the
sellers tried to shoo her away, but stopped when they saw him,
and greeted him in their language. Zan bartered for a few items,
while she was busy looking and stashed them away for later.
"Ah there you are," He said seeing join them after a short
while. He admired the blades that Solis had gotten her. "Nice
balance..and good weight," He said testing them out in his hand
before handing them back.
Then back to his ship, they went, for Solis to panic when she
tried to look over the side. "If we need to, I can get the ropes
so you can tie her to the mast," Zan called out, in a joking
tone.
Eden settled thankfully and they got to the farming island
without any mishaps and disembarked and headed to the blighted,
messed-up farm to help the farmer with his repairs. "Nasty
buggers," Zan sighed as he eyed the destruction and listened to
Solis warn the younger girl. "Though not nearly as bad as those
croc creatures that nearly ate you that one time," He added
nudging Solis in a playful manner.
The kidding and flirting ended as they go to work dealing with
the rabivores. He too thought Eden's trick was a good idea.
Working together, they soon had eradicate the family of
rabivores. Thankfully before the female could give birth to
another litter. Then on to the next job of fixing the fence.
By now Zan's shirt was off and he'd caught Solis stealing a few
looks while they worked.
"Food sounds amazing to me, maybe a cold drink too." He added,
quite thirsty after all the hard work.
Zan pulled his shirt back on, and they headed to the tavern. By
now Eden was far too hungry and tired to try and run around the
small tavern. He glanced up at Solis' question and finished his
bite of food. "Of course, I will. Been hoping to talk with
your.. cousin dad," He said with a wink. He knew that Solis
thought of Halder as a father figure instead of the cousin the
man was in reality. "Tomorrow works well for me. I've been
hoping to meet them all, especially after hearing all your
stories about them.,"

Eden ate as she listened to the men talk and her head tilted at
what Zan said. “I figured it was time- I’m ready to go to the
next level of our relationship- I really do feel we will be
together for good.” Eden blinked as it slowly connected in her
head.”you gonna be mates for life?” Eden asked as Solis blushed
more.”that’s like …last level kid- this is more like…” he tried
to find the words to look at Zan for help.
The tavern was starting to get a bit filled and eden felt a
small bump to make a small face at the offender. An older
gentleman excused himself to continue on.
“Also I got something to tell you if we are gonna be serious but
ya gotta keep it secret.” Warned Solis to Zan.”secret? I wanna
know!” Eden said as Solis looked at her. He tapped his chin-
knowing full well she was training with Jalal so possibly… “fine
but you keep quiet too- we can go to my hideout later.. but you
gotta keep it secret too promise?” Solis asked looking at her
firmly.”after the rest of your classes.” Eden blushed a bit to
untie her mask to look Solis in the eye with a smile
big.”promise I will!” She said and finished eating after she
tied her mask on.Solis also figured after he could get the girl
to leave to have his fun time with Zan.

Zan paused at the man's words, a deep loving look filling his
eyes. "I've been feeling the same way, Sol," He murmured back.
He turned to look at Eden and chuckled when Solis couldn't
figure out the word.
"Think more like mates to be. We make a promise to one another
to one day become life mates," He explained to Eden. "Some use
rings, others' piercings..or tattoos. What do you think we
should do?" He asked Solis.
Zan got a curious look on his face when his boyfriend mentioned
something that needed to say a secret. "Sure..you know I can
keep secrets," He drawled a bit amused by Eden's enthusiasm.
His eyes widened a bit when he saw Eden's bright blue eyes
before she turned to look Solis in the eyes. He shifted in his
seat and glanced around warily. Now he was starting to worry
that someone else might have seen her without her mask.
"I'll be right back," Zan said and got up and went to find the
outhouse. He came back a few moments later and set several coins
out on the counter. "Let's get going, the winds are going to die
down and we don't want to get stuck here overnight," He insisted
and then got them both out rather quickly.
"Hey, Eden..I got you something," Zan said once they were on his
ship and had gotten well away from the farm island. He pulled
out a small jade figure of a fox he'd seen her eyeing in the
market and placed it into her hand. "Here's the start of your
collection," He said with a wink. "You want to try steering for
a bit?"
By the time they'd arrived back at the Emperor's island...Eden
knew how to steer the ship with the wheel and the rudder. "We'll
make an airship captain out of you yet," Zan said patting her
shoulder gently. "Hey..look! Flying horses!" he said pointing
them out.

Eden listened intently as Zan explained what Solis met.”ohhh!”
Solis blinked and seemed to think- “honestly I wouldn’t mind a
tattoo- but I’ll have to avoid my chest and back.. would a
tattooed arm band be okay?” He asked. When he got the
questioning look the man looked a bit to one side and the
other.”I can’t say here.. probably another secret to give..” he
said as Eden nodded. Solis noted how some who ignored the girl
before were glancing a few times.
While Zan got up to go to the bathroom, Solis watched one
approach them and had pulled Eden in his lap some- he let his
face give the natural resting bitchface look for the guy to back
off to see Zan come up.”yeah it sounds good.. think it’s time to
head back.” Said Solis as he hoisted Eden on his shoulders
walking back. He knew from a few expressions he saw in that
tavern- one face in particular he’d know. It made him on edge
some as he heard a few murmurs of a blessed child.
Eden had firmly put the fox in her bag when Zan gave it to her.
Eden felt reminded of Silu some and was beginning to miss Jalal.
She held to Solis hand tightly as some people made her a little
unnerved.
They reached the airship as Eden was starting to hype up to be
asked if she wanted to help steer. Eden’s face brightened
up.”yes! I wanna fly the airship!” She couldn’t wait to tell
Adan and Snow that one! Eden gasped at seeing the winged
horse.”I want one..” she mumbled in awe at the sight. “I wanna
do this again too!” She said down to Solis to hear him
laugh.”okay okay- another day promise!”
They managed to dock off and walk some to the guild with the bag
of rabbits feet as proof to give it and gain some money.
Eden walked with her bag and smiled big as she got to keep one
of the feet for herself as well. She shook it before putting it
in her little side pack that Solis bought for her as well for
her to stop and see a book- it was on botany. Her mouth formed
an O and she shook her head some. Solis bought it as well.
“Why are you being so nice?” Eden asked as the man
chuckled.”today it’s for you..I know things been super tough and
that boy was not being kind-and hold onto the money for the next
few days - then we can go to the other island- it’s kinda like a
bazaar- like you’d see in the Naibara region in the desert, got
lots of stuff.” Solis said as they headed to the castle.
Solis noted a few guys had been following.”hey Zan, seems we got
some followers- “ he mumbled to the man as he scooped up Eden.
It was almost as if Eden knew when to be quiet. He could feel
her uneasiness at how her hands were careful to not hold around
his neck and she rode his shoulders.But surprised to talk as if
everything was normal when he asked her questions - like what
was the favorite part of her day and more.
It was then he felt the push and Eden being quick - despite
launching forward seemed to tumble and hit her feet. But this
group didn’t aim for Eden. They aimed for Solis. One weapon was
blocked thanks to his broad sword and the other thanks to Zan.
That’s when Solis turned as he took off his own weapon and put
his hand in front of Eden.”already?” Solis said flatly.
He knew it was a matter of time till the rest of his family came
after him. Solis’ grandfather still lived. But had chosen the
man to receive a gift once he died- it was the reason he ended
up in audora. They had found him- but given he was protected
under the king meant any guard and animal would make sure he
stayed alive.
A dragon peeked out from his hiding place having concealed
itself for some time now to fly out. It wasn’t big but it did
its job taking care of a man quickly as it summoned black fire
to incinerate one. Solis watched one gunning for Eden to get in
front and run him through.”won’t let you.” He said as he watched
Zan take care of the last one- before onyx disposed of the rest.
Eden seemed completely unphased at what happened, aside her
excitement with the dragon. “Ooo it’s so cool! Can I pet it?”
She asked as the man hoisted Eden up on his shoulders again.
Solis chuckled.”his names Onyx- maybe later we should head back
and I should tell halder.. Zan mind being a witness?- might be
meeting him early..”
They managed to make it for Solis to see Halder and half jogged
with Eden enjoying the ride some. He let Eden down to see Snow
and Adan walking from their own break after lunch-for her to
wave and jog over. As he watched the girl he told his
uncle.”they found me.. they’re deader than a door nail now- but
I’ll be extra careful.. you sure it’s still okay for me to be
around?” He asked the burly redhead. He noticed Eden seeming
quiet as she stared at snow and halder would notice the man’s
eyes go really wide.”well she sure is bold.”
Eden was a little hyped.”Hi!! “ she had said. She looked a bit
loaded down with a small bag, and stuff she got to keep.Eden
told the two.”I got to put this stuff up- but first come close I
gotta secret.” She said as she managed to get snow to lean down.
She took his face and turned it toward her and kissed the boy on
the lips- they felt soft to her and she blushed a little bit.
While snow was still clearly processing what happened- Eden took
note he blushed just a little and turned to see an already
shocked Adan and turned his direction. She easily pulled his
face down and gave him a kiss as well on the lips- his seemed
soft as well for her to put her hand back. Her own face was red
before she took off running.

Zan raised an eyebrow, curious about why Solis wanted to avoid
marking his chest and back. "Sure.. that would work. It would be
cool to have it mirror image, that way our tattoos are on
opposite arms. So we can match them when we hold hands,"
"Sounds like you've got a lot to tell me," He said winking as
they made their way to the airship.
Zan couldn't help but chuckle when Eden said she wanted one of
the winged horses. "Maybe one day you will," He told her. "I'll
be here for a while, so we can go out again soon,"
It was fun seeing Solis spoiling Eden, it made him think of how
the man was likely to do the same for their kids. When he heard
his boyfriend mention the girl had been through some tough
times, he frowned. He'd have to ask about that later; especially
since his fighter's senses were stirring.
"I know, I felt them earlier," Zan said softly, his hands
itching to get to his magically hidden blades. Most thought his
dual cutlass tattoo was pretty cool..what they didn't realize
was that they were actual blades that he could draw on at a
moment's notice.
"Eden, be ready to run," Zan called as he turned to engage the
attackers. He caught the second attacker's blade; his blades
materializing from seemingly nowhere, his face impassive and his
eyes blazing with anger. While he had no idea why they were
attacking Solis; he would fight them to the death if need be.
He cursed a bit colorfully when one of the men managed to get
around and go after Eden. Thankfully SOlis was there to stop
him. He didn't flinch or react to the dragon, focusing on taking
down the last man, his blades flashing as he drove the bigger
man back and then cut the man's hands off, and then his head.
Zan cleaned off his blades before moving them to his back where
they reformed as his tattoo. He wasn't sure what to think about
Eden's lack of response to the danger, Her enthusiasm over the
dragon had him chuckling.
"I don't mind bearing witness," Zan replied, though he did hope
that he'd make a good enough impression on the man.
He followed after Solis at a bit of a slower pace, and joined
Solis a few moments later; catching the last part of his
question.
Halder's brows scrunched up at the sight of Solis heading
towards him, Eden on his shoulders and a tall blond man
following. His eyes flashed when Solis told him he'd been found.
"Of course, you're going to stay, I'm not going to let anyone
keep you from spending time with your family, We'll get more
guards to keep an eye out. Maybe..you should..go..you know
where,"
Snow and Adan greeted Eden back, smiling at how weighed down she
was with all her stuff. "What's this secret?" Snow asked leaning
down a bit so she could whisper in his ear. He was more than a
little shocked when Eden grabbed his face and turned it and then
kissed him on the lips.
Snow felt a rather odd feeling race through him and he blinked,
his cheeks flushed..unsure of what to do with his feelings.
Adan's jaw dropped, his eyes going huge when he saw Eden kissing
Snow on the lips. He was frozen to the spot, unable to move when
Eden moved to him and pulled his face down, and kissed him as
well. Adan's entire body went hot..and his face went beet red.
"W-w-why?" He squeaked out in an unusually high voice when she
pulled back and then stared at him with her face red and then
raced off.
Zan's eyebrows shot up when he saw Eden kiss both boys and then
race off. "I probably should have told her that kissing's for
when she's older," He said and then shot an apologetic look at
both the boys and then a rather sheepish look to Halder and
Solis.
Snow shot a look at the stranger, a realization coming over his
face. "You're Solis' boyfriend, aren't you? I bet Eden saw you
kissing him," Snow said with a slight grin. "Ohh... Eden Wait
up!" He called and ran after her.
Adan was still trying to process what had happened, blinking
slowly.
Zan nudged Solis. "Did she like..break him or something?" He
whispered, "Is there something we can do to help him?"
Halder started chuckling and wiped his face. "He'll be all
right. Just let him get his mind around what just happened. So,
was Snow right? You're Solis' boyfriend?"
Zan nodded, and scratched his neck a bit nervously. "obviously
this wasn't the way I imagined meeting you for the first time
Sir."
Hader shook his head and then held out a massive hand to the
younger man. "Please..call me Halder."
"I'm Zan, nice to meet you Halder."
