Val and the mystery blind date

Valiant shifted nervously glancing around the small cafe as he
waited for his blind date to arrive. He normally didn't do this
sort of thing; mostly because his nerves often got the better of
him in this type of situation. He was hoping that when the
mystery date arrived he could convince them to take the date to
a new venue, a place that wasn't so busy or noisy.
Apparently, his friend that had set this up had forgotten that
Tuesday nights were karaoke nights at the cafe. Even though he
was a musician in a band; he didn't have to be surrounded by
music during his downtime. He often preferred to take walks in
nature, or meditate or even read in silence. People lost so much
of themselves in other's noise, that they often forgot to
connect with the world and nature around them.
Val tapped his fingers, hoping that he wouldn't get stood up yet
again. It had happened before a few times. Could he please just
have a normal fun date with an interesting person that didn't
spend their eyes glued to their phone? Was that so much to ask
for? All he really needed was a person who could actually
interact on a personal level. It seemed in this day and age it
was a rare thing.
"Maybe I was born in the wrong era," He muttered and glanced up
when he heard footsteps behind him.
A flash of uncertainty went through him. Would his date be put
off by his long hair that he'd pulled back into a ponytail? Or
by his many tattoos? Maybe he should have dressed up a bit more
and not look so much like the rockstar he was.

Dakota walked up after taking a painful choice of which body to
go as, to settle for the man’s. He made his way into the cafe,
running his hand in his curly locks he noticed a man and perked
up.”oo rockstar.. first thing that’s good.” He said to himself
before he went over and sat down.”hello I’m Dakota.” He said and
flashed a smile. “You must be valiant!” He chuckled.”I hope I
didn’t make you wait too long. “ he said as he fiddled with his
hair. The man took in the others form.”so you play music?” He
asked as he flipped the menu to look it over.

Valiant quickly took in the man's curly long hair, chiseled and
scruffy face, and sat up a bit straighter when the man joined
him. Well..it seemed that his date had known how to recognize
him. "Hello Dakota," He replied, taking in the hazel eyes and
how the smile the man offered was a genuine one.
"Yes, that's me. You can call me Val if you'd like," He added
softly, just a few notes above a whisper. "Sorry..do you mind if
we go somewhere else? It's a bit too loud for talking in here.
We could..get some food to go,"
He leaned in closer to say the last part, wanting the man to
hear him. "I play, sing and write music," He corrected. "And
what sort of job or profession do you do?" He asked to be
polite.

“Sure I don’t mind..” said Dakota leaning a bit closer. He heard
him speak more.”oh? You write as well? I find that interesting-
I wouldn’t mind listening to some of your work..ah uhm if that’s
what you want to do.” He rubbed the back of his head. He made an
order of coffee and a sweet pastry.
He was feeling sweet today with all the running he had to do the
day before. Delivering babies was no joke, and given how popular
his hospital was, and how many wanted him cause of his
specialty. Would be understandable.”I’m a doctor, I deliver
babies, and treat patients..” he said with a sexy smirk.
“Any interests?” He asked as they waited for their orders. Once
given he took his coffee and bag to join Val.”did you walk or
drive?” He asked blinking. “Or we could go to that local park
over there.” He said motioning not too far down.

Val already was more than a little interested in Dakota. He
smiled back as Dakota leaned in closer. "Yeah, I'm actually in a
band, we write all our own music and lyrics. Maybe..on a second
date we could do that," He couldn't help but suggest. "I would
rather get to know you better first,"
When the waitress made her way over to them, Val waited for
Dakota to order first, then gave his own order. "I"ll have the
green tea and two blueberry scones,"
Val's attention went back to Dakota, when the man went on to
tell him his job. "That's amazing. The world needs as many great
doctors as it can get," He said giving the guy a wink. "Of
course..sexy doctors are nice too," He added.
Val scrunched his face up, thinking for a moment about the
question. "I like movies, paranormal and supernatural types of
shows. I meditate if you can believe that, oh, and nature. I
love to spend time in nature,"
Their orders arrived and he grabbed his cup and bag and got to
his feet, leading the way out of the noisy cafe.
"I took an uber," Val confessed once they were outside. "my
car's getting worked on right now. I may be a rockstar but
haven't made it that big yet. So..I've still got my crappy car,"
He said with a chuckle. "The park is a great idea," Val agreed
easily and started to walk towards it, out of habit walking on
the side of the sidewalk closest to traffic.
Even if Dakota could take care of himself, it was Val's habit to
be protective of mortals. He really wasn't sure about Dakota
being human or not..but figured he was. He normally had a pretty
good sense of supernatural creatures. Though there were times he
didn't pick up on it until later.
"So Dakota, what are your interests? What do you do when you're
not saving lives and delivering babies?"

Dakota sensed the interest to smile, he smiled more at the idea
of a second date. He wondered if possible to show his other side
at some point. He always made it a habit to be sure they were
accepted as they are. Most of his dates seemed to like one or
the other.. it was a pain given he liked switching things up.
He blushed a bit brightly at being called a sexy doctor. Dakota
felt if he knew about the other forms- he probably wouldn’t be
saying that.. though it was nice seeing that sexy
smile.”musicians are sexy too.. hear they have a talent with
their tongue.” He said back with a sexy smile back.
“Glad im not alone- I watch paranormal and supernatural stuff as
well. I also like fantasy movies. Kinda stuck on lord of the
rings at the moment.” Said Dakota. “I hike when I can- i do
excersize - sometimes I take time to travel- last trip I had was
Cancun?” He said thoughtfully. He noted how he walked near the
street and felt a bit happy the guy was a gentleman. He wondered
how this guy would react to his female side.
He found a bench and sat down with Val.”So Val, any siblings?”
He asked as he sipped his coffee and shifted for his pastry. The
man took a bite and groaned. He loved sweet stuff, particularly
baked goods. Somehow it always hit right.

Val quite enjoyed seeing Dakota's visual response to being
called sexy. Well..there did seem to be some mutual chemistry
between them already. That was a good sign. He chuckled at the
other's reply, saying that musicians were talented with their
tongues.
"YOu say that, but have you ever been on the receiving end of a
musician's tongue before? Do you want to be?" He asked with a
low sultry tone, very much wanting to see the man's reaction to
that.
Val was quite happy to hear that they shared a love for
paranormal and supernatural stuff. "Fantasy is pretty good, I
haven't yet seen the movie; I'm kind of more into the books." He
explained. "But..maybe you could convince me to watching them
one day," Val added.
"Cancun is gorgeous," Val agreed. "I was there with the band a
couple of months ago, playing a venue."
That brought back his suggestion of Dakota seeing one of his
shows as they sat down on a bench in the park. His eyes shifted,
showing sadness at the next question. He took a moment to take a
drink of his green tea before replying. "I did have a brother
and a sister, but they passed away when they were young. It..it
isn't something I like to think of.." He said and scratched the
right side of his neck.
"So...I remembered the band has a gig this saturday..would you
be available or want to come? It's open to anyone..so you could
bring some friends along. I think..it's just a $20 cover charge
at the door. I can check it out, and text you the info."
This offer of course, also meant they'd have to exchange
numbers..which Val was hoping Dakota would be up for.

Dakota face went crimson for a second. He cleared his throat and
shot back.” I would.. and I would mind putting my oral knowledge
down below.” He said smirking back.
Dakota smiled at the positive reception.”warning you I geek out
on fantasy stuff.. my house has all things elf in it swear.” He
said with a chuckle.”oh! That sounds awesome! I went more for
the sights really.” He said thinking briefly.
Dakota colored a little.”I apologize I didn’t know.” He said and
looked down a bit. He was hoping he didn’t make the man feel
uncomfortable till he mentioned the music concert.”oh!
Totally!!” He started and then decided to try the ol switcheroo
there.. and maybe put himself then and pray this guy didn’t get
scared off.”would you mind terribly if I bring my other doctor
friend? She don’t get out much and loves music herself.. you and
I can totally go for a private after party..well if your
willing.” He side eyed the man as he ran his eyes over him.
Dakota pulled his phone and asked.”exchange numbers?” He asked
sheepishly.”so we can stay in contact- im really really
interested and wouldn’t mind a second date..” he said and made a
sexy smile.

Valiant had never seen anyone's face get so dark red before. For
a moment he thought he might have gotten too flirty too
fast..until the doc returned it with a sexy smirk of his own.
He grinned back, chuckling a bit. "I guess we both know we're
attracted to one another now, I wouldn't mind an exchange of
tongues," He added, wondering what it would feel like to kiss
Dakota's lips. They looked far too enticing..and soft.
Valiant relaxed a bit more as he listened to Dakota's warning
about his collection of fantasy elves. "I don't mind a fantasy
geek at all, in fact, I'd love to check out your collection one
day. When you feel you're ready to show it off. Did you get any
pictures while you were there? I only got a few, but I had them
blown up and printed out at my place,"
Val sometimes hated how that question often had people
reacting..especially after having such a good start. "Hey, it's
all right. It's not like you knew." Val said softly.
Despite the short uncomfortable moment, he was having a good
time getting to know Dakota.
"I wouldn't mind at all, that would be fun. I would definitely
be interested in doing something alone together after. I usually
get super hyped up after a show..and it takes a while to come
down," Val explained with a smile.
He nodded and pulled his own phone out. "Well good, I feel the
same way. I want to be honest, I haven't really dated in a
while..or found someone I liked this much before."
Valiant shot a look up at Dakota. "so..the date doesn't have to
end just yet, we could..find something else to do. The night's
still young,"

Dakota smirked.”very attracted yes.. though it seems you’re
wanting something hm?” He asked as he finished his coffee, as he
finished getting the man’s number and giving his.
“well I know a few bars.. my favorite one is under renovation
unfortunately- a fire broke out there sadly.” Said Dakota. “Are
you up for that? Or just want to stay here.. and see where this
goes?”
With that Dakota reached over grabbing Val’s chin. His male side
was how he was dominate and charming. While his more feminine
side was submissive and sweet. He really hoped when Val meets
his other side he’d be just as accepting. He couldn’t count how
many times people would ask him to stay as a guy or a girl, or
Ended up weirded out by the fact they were the same person.
Dakota gave a soft kiss and deepened the contact, the man’s
mouth was surprisingly soft. He seperated a bit to see the
reaction and smiled a little.
