Neal felt a wave of guilt go over him, she had given him a lot
of chances..though at the time he just hadn't been available to
give her what she wanted. He nodded, remembering how they had
texted practically every day during his first couple of years in
college. Then the texts had slowed down as his workload had
increased and then Lindsey had gotten really sick.
He still remembered her asking him to take her to her first
prom..and how he'd ended up sitting in the hospital with his
roommate, thinking she'd die before she got bone marrow she
needed to survive.
"I'm sorry about that, If I could have been there I would have.
Tell you what, I'll make it up to you. There's a formal coming
up at the end of the month; I'd like to take you to it. We can
dress up nice, and I'll get us a hotel room."
"Yeah she knew, I talked about you pretty much nonstop," He
admitted. "All right, I'll let her know. Friday should work for
me and Lindsey. Anything, in particular, you might like? I'll
make sure to stay away from the kitchen so not to ruin it," He
joked with a grin.
Neal wanted Bella too, but he wanted their first time to be
special. He also wanted Bella to hear from Lindsey herself that
she was all right with them being together.
"Bella, I know you do, and you can tell how much I want you. I
don't want our first time to be rushed because we don't want to
get caught in my office. How about..you lt me take you out on
Saturday night and then we can have all night to ourselves? I
know it's not going to be easy to wait for either of us."

Bella sighed as she watched Neal. She had missed him, and even
just texting him. They had remained close for a while after he
left, but that soon tapered off. Neal had gotten too busy for
her, not to mention he had admitted that Lindsey had taken her
place as his best friend.
"It's okay Neal. I'm sure you had your reasons. I was just...
dumb and hoping you'd be the one to take my virginity that
night." When Neal suggested taking her to the formal at the end
of the month, and said he would get them a hotel room, Bella
smiled. "I'd like that." Bella admitted with a smile.
"Did you? That's so romantic." Bella said with a smile. "I'm
easy, anything is fine." Bella said at his question.
Bella's face fell as Neal said he didn't want their first time
to be rushed. He suggested a date on Saturday, and Bella smiled.
"You're torture, Neal." Bella teased.
"Okay fine, we'll go on a date Saturday." Bella said to him with
a smile. "You'd better shower me with kisses in the meantime,
though." Bella said.

"You weren't dumb at all. If I had been there I would have done
anything you asked," He replied.
Neal knew from seeing her bring men home over the last few weeks
that she wasn't a virgin anymore..not that he could or would
judge her on her personal choices. He wasn't anywhere near a
virgin either, though it had been years since he'd been with
anyone. His choice to become celibate after marrying Lindsey had
been his own choice, even though it had been hard to stick to.
It was even harder now with Bella in his arms and begging him
for sex.
Neal felt his face heat at her compliment and then nodded when
she added that anything would be fine. "I'll let her know." He
said simply.
He saw her face fall and knew that she was probably annoyed with
him holding out on her. "Yeah..yeah..I know. You're kind of
torturing me right now," He admitted and bit his bottom lip.
He was relieved when she agreed to wait and go on a date with
him on Saturday night. "I can do that darling Bella," He replied
and pulled her in for another deep kiss.
After several more heated moments of kissing he had to draw back
and helped her to her feet and glanced at the clock. "Cra.p..I'm
going to be late for my next class! I'll see you on Saturday.
You mind if I come to watch you practice on the field?" He asked
as he hurriedly gathered up his case and gave her one more kiss
before dashing out and heading to the Science building.

The dinner with Lindsey and Bella had gone rather well, much to
Neal's relief. They had made small talk while eating Lindsey's
Mexican casserole and sipping on margaritas that Neal had
whipped up in the blender. Once they had all gotten their fill
of the food, Neal gathered up the dishes and rinsed them off
before filling the dishwasher as was his normal habit.
"So..Bella, Neal mentioned that he told you about
our..arrangement and marriage." Lindsey brought up and smoothed
her hands down her dress slowly. "I hope he told you that I'm
okay with the two of you dating and being intimate," She added,
her cheeks flushing pink.
"You see...I do care about him, but..I'm not the physically
affectionate type. We've only kissed once..and only held hands
when I was really sick. I'm more..in the asexual area I suppose.
Not that I knew what that meant when Neal and I first met.
Neal..he's..well..he's definitely not asexual," Lindsey said and
shot an affectionate look over her shoulder at Neal.
"I am perfectly fine with the two of you being together. I have
no problem with people thinking we have an open marriage..I just
want Neal to be happy and be able to be with the woman he
loves," She added.
Neal had finished with the dishes and moved to refill their
glasses, looking between the two women. He was hopeful that
Lindsey and Bella would get along with one another.
"I have asked Bella out on a date for Saturday evening, and I am
planning on taking her to the formal dance at the end of the
month," He said as he retook his seat between both women.
"Oh..wonderful! I hope you two have fun. I do however insist on
you two getting pictures taken before the dance. Neal never did
get to go to homecoming during high school..and I think you two
should have pictures together."

Friday took forever to come about, and honestly, Bella was still
dreading things. Neal could try to convince her all he wanted,
but it was awkward for her, seeing the wife of the man she was
stealing.
They sat around drinking and eating a casserole which was yummy,
and they made small talk. Bella was more than a little focused
on Neal, as opposed to Lindsey. The other girl was nice and all,
but it was different.
Lindsey managed to bring things up as Neal was gone, making
Bella feel a little awkward about the whole thing. "Hearing you
say it is one thing, yes, but it's still weird to me. I feel
like I'm stealing your husband from you." Bella said softly.
"Lindsey, tell me honestly... Do you love him?" Bella asked him
softly. "I love Neal, I always have, but I don't want to steal
him from someone who loves him." Bella said with a sigh.
"It's just complicated, and the reality is, I think we missed
out on our chance to be together." Bella admitted sadly.
When Neal reappeared and mentioned that he had asked her on a
date, and Lindsey seemed happy about the idea. "I couldn't even
get him to come home for prom." Bella admitted, which left her
realizing more than a few things.
Bella already felt awful about this whole thing, and the reality
was, she couldn't help thinking that Neal just hadn't cared
enough about her to even come home to take her to prom. He had
moved on with his life as though she never existed. Neal had
quickly replaced her with Lindsey, and he slowly stopped talking
to her as if to let her down easily.
"I'm... uh, I'm going to go." Bella said, grabbing her keys. She
got up slowly and headed towards the door before she spoke
softly to Neal. "I'm sorry, Neal. I just...realized something,
and it occurs to me that this was a huge mistake." Bella finally
said.
"We missed our chance." Bella finally said, heading back to her
own apartment.

"It is weird and rather unheard of, but believe me..you aren't
stealing Neal from me. I never really had his heart, it's always
been yours," Lindsey replied.
She blinked at Bella's next question.
"Honestly, the way I love him is in an entirely different way
than you do Bella. It's more of an affection a person might have
for a brother..or friend." She said softly.
Lindey glanced back at Bella when she mentioned not being able
to get Neal to come home for her prom. It all seemed to go down
hill after this..with Bella telling him that she had made a
mistake and that they had missed their chance.
"Neal..if I have to say it, I'm going to have to smack you in
the back of the head. " Lindsey said and got up to let her
boston terriers out of her room and into the back yard.
Neal was staring after Bella when Lindsey spoke to him. He
nodded and rushed out after Bella, hoping to convince the love
of his life that she was wrong. It hadn't been a mistake.
"Bella wait up!" He called out and caught up a few moments
later, reaching out to pull her around to look her in the eyes.
"You have it wrong, I didn't mean to distance myself from you. I
was a kid, and I had a hard time keeping up with everything I
was going through. Please..give me a chance to make it up to
you. To show you how much I want you, how much I need you, and
how much I love you." Neal said passionately as he cupped her
cheek.
He pulled her closer, wrapping an arm around her waist and
dipped his head down and kissed her deeply on the mouth.
"I don't think I can wait anymore, Bella. I am dying to make
love to you." Neal admitted as he pulled away, his desire ad
love showing in his features.

Bella felt so strange even though Lindsey was telling her that
Neal's heart had always been hers. It just, didn't make sense to
Bella, as she got in her head about everything. It wasn't like
Bella knew better, and by then she was heading to her own
apartment.
Bella could hear Neal, but she chose to ignore him, at least
until he grabbed her hand and pulled her to look at him. He was
speaking, but Bella was having a hard time believing him.
"Neal.... I was realizing a lot from that. You replaced me with
Lindsey and before long, we had stopped talking altogether. You
were once my best friend, but I keep thinking about it..." Bella
said with a sigh.
"You cut me out of your life... How am I supposed to believe
you've always loved me?" Bella pointed out.
Bella couldn't stop herself as Neal pulled her closer and put
his arm around her waist before kissing her passionately. She
gave in to the kiss, kissing him back and running her hands
through his hair. Even if she wanted to deny him, she was never
going to be able to resist Neal.
Neal's words had Bella blushing as she stared into his eyes.
"We're closer to your place." Bella commented, smiling at him.
"I hate that I can't resist you, Neal."
"But god, I love you so much." Bella pointed out, smiling at
Neal.

Neal frowned when Bella mentioned that he had replaced her with
Lindsey when it wasn't true at all. Of course..it probably
appeared like that to her, especially since she had no clue what
he'd been going through.
"I could never replace you Bella. Nor would I want to." Neal
insisted and then smiled when she mentioned they were closer to
his place. "Don't hate it, I have been barely holding myself
back," He confessed with a soft groan. "I love you too, come on,
we can use my suite."
He was soon escorting her back to his house, his hand resting on
her waist until they were on the porch. Then he pressed her
against the door and kissed her deeply, his hands wandering down
her body. "God..I've been waiting so long for this," He groaned
out and reached down to open the door and pulled her inside.
They began to make their way further into the house, making out
passionately as their clothes came off and fell to the floor.
"Damn, you look amazing," Neal panted out as he looked over her
gorgeous body.
He glanced up briefly and spied Lindsey heading out the side
door into the garage. Well..good. That would keep it from being
awkward. His attention went back to Lindsey and he reached out
and took her hand and led her up the stairs to his room. There
he finished pulling off the rest of her clothes and laid her out
on his bed.
Neal slowly moved over her body, kissing, teasing, and touching
every part of her body as if trying to memorize each curve and
dip. "God..you are so sexy, and beautiful," He murmured as he
ran his hands down her abdomen and leaned in to kiss her once
more.

Bella blushed as she heard Neal, feeling a bit bad. "Are you
sure you don't want to replace me?" Bella teased him softly.
When Neal said that he loved her too, Bella blushed. It made her
so happy hearing those words come out of Neal's mouth. It was
the one thing she would never tire of hearing.
They got back to his place quickly, and Bella moaned as Neal
pressed her against his front door and they kissed passionately.
His hands all over her body had her smiling and letting out
small moans.
As they walked through his house, they were making out rather
passionately, losing clothes along the way. "Mm, you're so sexy
babe." Bella said happily.
Finally, Neal had managed to lead her to his room, where he laid
her on the bed and stripped her of her bra and panties. Bella's
body flushed, realizing this was the first time Neal was seeing
her na.ked.
Neal was kissing over every inch of her body, teasing her
brea.sts as they made out, with Bella exploring his body with
her hands as well. "You're so hot, Neal." Bella said happily.
"I'm the luckiest woman in the world, I have the handsomest man
about to bed me." Bella said, smiling up at him happily.
"You're the love of my life, Neal." Bella said happily.

Neal shook his head at Bella's words. "I imagine you're going to
keep asking that until you are sure that I mean it." He said
softly. He knew it would take time and effort to show her that
his feelings were real. "I will tell you every day if I have to,
you are the one I want. You and only you."

Neal could barely get enough of Bella's body and how amazing her
hands felt as they ran over him, pleased moans escaping him even
as he kissed over her body. Her happy words had him smiling
against her skin.
"Well..I'm the luckiest man in the world having you here in my
bed," He replied. "I've been waiting and dreaming of this moment
for a very long time."
Neal slowly made his way down to the apex of her thighs, parting
them and lifting her legs over his shoulders as he moved down to
delve his tongue inside of her. A pleased moan escaped him at
the taste of her. He flicked his tongue over her cli.t and moved
to settle down as he worked his tongue inside of Bella's pus.sy
and took his time eating her out and getting her ready for more.

Bella was loving every moment of this. It was insane how great
it felt to finally have what she wanted for so long. Even just
kissing Neal was intoxicating, and she was so happy he seemed to
love her back, despite her doubts.
"Have you now?" Bella couldn't help but ask. It still seemed
insane to her that Neal had wanted her for as long as she
desperately wanted him. He was the only one she'd ever loved,
even if he hadn't known it.
Before long, Neal had made his way down her body until he was
parting her legs and putting them over his shoulders. Bella
wasn't used to men like Neal, which was obvious in her reactions
to this.
Bella moaned loudly, letting herself enjoy what Neal was doing.
He had a very skilled tongue, and he certainly knew how to
please a woman as Bella was soon moaning and practically
writhing and enjoying every moment of this.
"Oh Neal!" Bella moaned out his name in pleasure, running a hand
through his hair.
