Sean sucked in a breath and counted mentally before releasing
it. He still couldn't get his head around how adamant she was
that she had seen him kiss some other girl. It was almost like
       he had an evil...oh god.
His face paled as he looked over at her. “I have a twin brother,
an identical twin brother. You must have seen him kissing that
girl and thought it was me.
Come to think of it, he borrowed my clothes when he got out of
his military academy.” His voice trailed off thinking of how his
entire life had gone downhill after losing her.
So what if he had become a great writer? Or had a life most
people dreamed of having? Without Sierra none of it meant
anything. He had lost himself in his work to try and forget her.
       It had never really worked.
He glanced over at her question. “I still love you Sierra,” he
said a bit louder not caring who might hear him.

Sierra tried to process the statement. A twin brother, how
original. Still, if she was reading Sean correctly, he was
telling the truth. He’d never lied to her before, she had no
reason not to believe him, but then, why wouldn’t he have just
told her or even bothered to ask why she was leaving instead of
       just letting her go?
Thinking back on the past, Sierra sighed. She had needed Sean,
more than he knew. Being a teen mom, even at nineteen, had been
terrifying. Doing it alone while also in school, It had been
terrifying, hell, even now she was still terrified. In truth,
she’d never stopped loving him, wanting him and needing him.
But hearing Sean proclaiming he still loved her, it hurt. She
wanted to tell him she still loved him too, but try as she
might, Sierra couldn’t get the words out. Instead, she turned
her gaze away from Sean, fighting back tears as she thought
about it. “You should have been honest with me.” Sierra finally
got out, before turning back to look at him once more.
“I fucking needed you, Sean. You were my rock.”

Sean could tell that their publicists were on to the fact that
he and Sierra were talking about more serious matters under
their breaths. He really didn’t care for the audience but he
really didn’t see any other way. He wanted her to know the
truth, and perhaps even figure out if they could move forward
from this point. Even if they were only meant to be friends, he
would be happy to just have her in his life again.
His mind kept going back to how he hadn’t questioned or asked
why she had broken up with him. He had been so blindsided that
all he had felt was his heartbreak into pieces and he had just
crumbled and not said a word for days. He had never even
imagined something like that would ever happen between them. He
had bought her a crappy ring and had intended on asking her to
marry him, but she had broken up with him before he got to ask
       her.
He had told his parents and they had seemed relieved that he
hadn’t asked her. That had hurt him more than anything. He had
thought his parents had liked her, and they had accepted her as
a part of the family. Then they had gone and told him that he
was young, that he’d meet other girls at college and probably
move on from his first love. That settling down at 18 would have
been too hard on the both of them, that working and college and
a new marriage would have been way too much for him and Sierra.
He had pretty much left for college the next day without looking
back, almost cutting his family out of his life. It had taken
him several years to get over the hurt and feeling of betrayal
before he had spoken to his parents. He still hadn’t returned to
his hometown, mostly because he hadn’t wanted to run into Sierra
and her family. Back then he had always wondered why her family
had hated him so much and been so rude to him before he had left
for college. Now he knew it was because they had thought he was
       the cause of the breakup.
While he hated his brother’s part in what had happened, he
couldn’t blame his brother for wanting to kiss a girl after 4
years in a military school far away from the fairer sex. If only
he had told Sierra about his brother and ignored his family’s
desire for others to not know about Shane and the mistakes he
had made. Thinking about it now it made him wonder what his twin
had done with his life in the past 8 years. If he could find a
way to forgive him maybe he could forgive his parents. It wasn’t
going to happen overnight he knew. It was going to take
time..and probably a bit of therapy.
He looked up at her tear-filled eyes and closed his eyes, he
hated to see her like this. It was his fault. He shouldn’t have
been such a coward. He should have stood up to his parents and
demanded to know why she had wanted to break up. “You’re right,
I should have. I should have told you everything about my
family, especially about my twin. I wish I could go back in time
to erase all the pain you went through and make things right.
       I’m sorry. I truly am.”

It was a little odd to Sierra how Sean could still affect her
so. Sierra only saw him, like some stupid love-struck teen. But
of course, Sean was her high school sweetheart, the love of her
life. It made sense he would affect her this way. Still, it kind
of sucked that he could still do that to her even after all this
time. It almost hurt that she still wanted him so badly, still
       loved him so deeply.
Sierra turned to look away, thinking about how badly things had
been screwed up. If only she had told him why she was leaving
him, maybe Sean would have explained. This was her fault, she
couldn’t deny that they weren’t together because she’d jumped to
conclusions. Even now, Sierra didn’t know if they would recover
from this. Even if what Sean was saying was true, why would he
       want her back?
After all, she was a terrible person, jumping to conclusions and
leaving the man she had loved. Not to mention that she didn’t
even reach out after she’d found out she was pregnant. What kind
of a woman just hid its child from it’s father? God, Sean
probably thought the worst of her. Hell, she still couldn’t
bring herself to tell Sean he had a daughter. What kind of woman
was she? Sean shouldn’t love her, Sierra reasoned, she was a bad
person. So she couldn’t find the words to tell him she still
loved him. He deserved a lot better than her, and she wasn’t
going to put it in his head he still had a chance. As much as it
       killed her.
At Sean’s words, Sierra sighed. “I wish we had never broken up.
You are still the love of my life, Sean. That doesn’t fade away
and I can’t help but still be just as madly in love with you as
I always was.” Sierra finally said. It sucked that her love for
Sean took over everything, but Sierra couldn’t deny it, not
while looking at the man she loved.

Sean could barely breathe at Sierra’s words. She still loved
him. The only thing he wanted to do in that moment was to kiss
her, and never let her go. However, there was the fact that they
were now in the middle of a very active restaurant surrounded by
a lot of eyes, and one pair belonged to Sierra’s daughter. He
paused at that thought. They had time. He didn’t have to do
anything drastic just yet. They had years of time between them,
that had more than likely changed them.
Waiting wasn’t going to be a problem, though it felt like the
       worst thing at the moment.
“Maybe, we should talk about this in private another day? I am
would like to spend more time with you, when our publicists
aren’t eying us and speculating on making us write a romance
novel.” He half-joked. “I imagine you’d prefer to take things
slow, especially having a daughter to think about now and how
she might be affected.” He added.
He glanced around the table to see that their publicists had
ordered salads and had been eating silently as they had watched
the unfolding drama. Even Mireya had some food in front of her
to distract her. “I guess we should get something to eat since
the others didn’t wait for us,” He said with a shake of his
head. “Not that I blame them.”
Sean waved down their waiter and ordered a salad, not wanting to
wait long. He realized after all the talking they had down, it
had half exhausted him and made him ravenous. He’d have to make
something hearty for dinner. For now, a salad would work.

As she thought about Sean’s words, Sierra frowned. It sort of
sucked that he thought she’d want to take things slowly because
of Mira. If only she had the guts to tell him that it was his
daughter, then maybe Sean wouldn’t think twice. Of course,
Sierra didn’t really want to tell Sean, not until she saw
whether they would get back together or if they would simply
have to try to be friends. She didn’t want Mira to get her hopes
up about her daddy, only to have them shattered if this
       rekindling didn’t go well.
“You’re right, Sean. We might want to take things slowly. It’s
been a long time, things change, who knows whether we love each
other really? We love people who may not be who we are now.”
Sierra pointed out sadly before she continued. “I don’t mind us
getting some private time to hash this out later,” Sierra
admitted, thinking about how much better it would be to kiss
Sean endlessly without prying eyes. If he wanted to kiss her.
Hell, she missed him. Being in his arms, his lips on hers, all
       of their romance.
Sierra nodded at Sean’s words. Once he had ordered, she got a
salad herself. Their long overdue conversation had taken a bit
out of her, and Sierra was slightly tired. Hopeful, but tired.
After that, they ate in peace, occasionally talking about the
book. It seemed like they were definitely going to write it, if
only as an excuse to spend more time together, maybe rekindle
their love for one another. Either way, Sierra figured it
       couldn’t really go that badly.
After that, they left, exchanging cell phone numbers with the
intent to meet up soon to talk and plan. On top of their plans
to talk in private, that was.

Sean could barely concentrate on anything else for the rest of
the day, thinking over how his life was going to change now that
he had the hope of being with Sierra again. He glanced around
his bachelor pad; which face it, when a guy lived in a loft
apartment with video games and the main focus in his living room
being a tv, it screamed single man that had never grown up. “I’m
still in the mindset of an 18 year old,” he said shaking his
head. “It’s time to change that. I don’t need to dwell in the
past anymore. Good things are about to happen and life is going
       to get better.”
Sean sat down at his laptop and made a listing of the things he
needed to get rid of on facebook. “Today is the first day of the
rest of my life,” he said and started making changes, many of
them that he’d been putting off for too long.
He fell to sleep in a very relaxed and restful manner, which was
unusual for him. Normally he tossed and turned for hours every
night. More than likely because of all the memories that haunted
him. Memories of their last moments together as a couple. He
woke feeling a bit odd, something tingling in the back of his
mind. He wished he could figure out what it might be about but
shrugged it off and got dressed in his running clothes.
It was quite a bit earlier than he normally would go out, but
Sean could never sleep after he work up in the morning. Once he
was up he was up for the day. He grabbed his ipod, started his
music and went out the front door, locking it after him and
decided to be adventurous and take a new route for the day.
Instead of staying around his neighborhood he had the strangest
urge to go further, closer to a small apartment complex and a
park that wasn’t too far away from where he lived. He had
sometimes idly thought of going for a run through the park and
actually try to deal with other people. He had been very much a
loner for the past several years. Sure he worked with other
people and made polite conversation, but he never made an effort
to really open up and let people know more about him. Maybe it
was because they’d always get around to asking him if he was
seeing someone and that had hurt him to think about how he was
alone and hated to think about it.
He took a deep breath of the fresh air and let his long legs
stretch and extend further to increase his pace. He was running,
rather quickly to the beat of his music, “Monster” by Imagine
Dragons, and watching the trees flying by as he ran. He turned
to glance over at what appeared to be a young kid sleeping on a
bench and slammed into another body. He swore and turned his
eyes back to where he had been running and twisted his body so
he pulled the person he had collided with on top of him onto the
       asphalt.
He lay there panting, his head aching from hitting the hard
ground, and shook his head to clear his vision. Once his eyes
had cleared and he could see easier he let out a gasp. Laying on
top of him was Sierra, and it looked like she was in pain. “Oh
crap,” He muttered and pulled his earbuds out of his ears. “Are
you okay? I can’t believe I actually ran into you. I hope i
didn’t hurt you.” He said slowly sitting up and cradling her
against his body. “Where does it hurt?” He asked as one of his
hands moved touch the back of his head gingerly to assess the
       damage.
“Do I need to carry you?” He asked. He decided not to wait for
an answer and gingerly picked her up and got to his feet and
carried her to an empty bench a little bit away and sat down
and settled her in his lap as he looked down at her worriedly.

Sierra had taken Mireya to see a movie after their lunch, trying
to distract herself from the thoughts consuming her mind. Was
there a chance that she and Sean could end up together again?
Sierra didn't know. After all, she was still hiding a pretty big
thing from him and he didn't even know. In all honesty, Sierra
didn't know how Sean would take it. After all, the pregnancy had
been an accident, a result of overly sexual teenagers in love.
Who knew what Sean would have said. He might have told her he
wanted nothing to do with the baby, Sierra really didn't know.
They'd never had that situation before.
When she got home, Sierra spent more time with Mira and made
dinner with her daughter before the two of them headed off to
bed. She felt hopeful, even happy. Well, happier than normal,
just at the thought of Sean still loving her. It was a hopeful
thought, though she knew it was best not to get her hopes up
just yet, not with Sean. How would he ever forgive her?
Sierra slept peacefully that night, even falling right back to
sleep when Mira crawled into her bed that evening. She woke at
four forty five, changed into her sports bra and short shorts,
her running clothes, before heading out and locking the door
behind her. Her iPod played in her ears as Sierra pushed herself
further than usual. Her route became longer as she explored the
city, pushing herself to be better.
Sierra had no idea where she was going on this new route of
hers, but it was rather pretty. For the first time in a long
time, she felt at ease. For once, Sierra wasn't worrying about
anything. She wasn't replaying a breakup in her mind over and
over, torturing herself. Sierra was running faster than normal,
losing herself in the rush of the cold air on her skin. When
suddenly, after staring off at the sunrise she wanted to paint,
Sierra was slamming hard into another person.
Whoever it was had pulled her on top of him as they fell, but
Sierra hadn't reacted fast enough. Her ankle got twisted
painfully underneath the stranger's leg. God, she hoped it
wasn't broken or anything. After the shock wore off, Sierra
looked down, seeing Sean underneath her. Sierra blushed at the
fact that she was on top of him, as she pulled out her
       headphones to hear him.
Sean was fawning over her, freaking out and hoping he hadn't
hurt her. It was the same old Sean, that much was clear to
Sierra. He was moving and sitting up, still holding her close
against his body. “I think I just twisted my ankle. Hopefully
nothing serious.” Sierra finally said. “Are you okay, Sean?”
Sierra needed to ask. She needed to know. Even if they didn't
get back together, Sierra would always care for Sean.
Sean asked if he needed to carry her, but he didn't wait for an
answer, which made Sierra giggle as he lifted her up easily and
brought her to a bench. It was rather cute that he settled her
in his lap, not that Sierra minded as she relaxed in his arms.
“I missed you, Sean.” Sierra couldn't help saying. After all,
she'd always felt safe in his arms, and here she was, back in
       her lover's arms.

Sean’s eyebrows drew together in concern at Sierra’s mentioning
a twisted ankle. “I should check it out then,” he said softly,
though he really didn’t want to move her out of his arms just
yet. It had been so long since he’d gotten to hold her. He
couldn’t help but recall a similar happening back when they
first met in high school. He moved slightly and winced at a pain
       in his shoulder.
“It feels like I might have a sore sensitive area on my head,
there wasn’t any blood though so that’s a relief. Other than
that just scrapes and bruises. That was entirely my fault, I
looked away from the path and got distracted.” He let out a
sigh, why was it that he just couldn’t seem to stop hurting the
woman he loved? At some point his luck had to change.
Her soft giggle as he lifted her had him smile slightly. It
seemed that she didn’t mind so much, which was a relief to him.
He let out a sigh at her words and gazed down into her bright
blue eyes. “I missed you too,” He said a bit gruffly. “I’ve been
missing this for a long time.” He added and before he could stop
himself he leaned down to kiss her soft irresistible lips.

At Sean's words, Sierra smiled. “It'll be fine, Sean really.”
Sierra insisted, smiling at Sean. In truth, Sierra wasn't sure
she wanted Sean to stop holding her, not even to look at an
ankle. For the first time in a long time, Sierra felt completely
at ease in Sean's arms. But then, Sierra had always felt she
       belonged in his arms.
Sierra frowned at Sean as he said that his head was hurting.
“This is such deja vu, isn't it? It's like a sign that we
deserve a second chance. After all, this same situation is how
we met the first time, my love.” Sierra couldn't help but point
it out. Of she believed in fate, Sierra would probably call it
       that.
As Sean stared down at her, Sierra couldn't help smiling. She'd
forgotten what it was like to be with Sean. She had forgotten
how happy he made her. All those feelings rushed back to her in
full force, hitting her hard. It wasn't as if she didn't know
she still loved him, but it hadn't fully hit her how much she
needed to be with Sean until she was in his arms like this.
Sierra raised an eyebrow as Sean said he'd been missing
something for a long time, but before she could respond, he was
leaning down and kissing her. Sierra practically moaned in
happiness into his mouth as they kissed. It was in that moment
that Sierra knew she would do just about anything to stay with
Sean. When she finally pulled away to catch her breath, Sierra
smiled. “I missed that too. I miss everything we had.” Sierra
admitted before she leaned up and kissed Sean even more
       passionately this time.
