Guy nodded at Willow's soft words. With everything she was going
through, he couldn't help but wonder if her grandmother might
know something that would be of a help to them. If not, well
testing her blood and finding out what she was would more than
likely be the only way to figure out why the vampire was so
interested in her. It might even help him and Raph figure out
who might have taken interest in her and sent the imps and
goblins to check out her apartment.
Guy watched as Raph did his work around the apartment, putting
up double and even triple protective wards around the windows
and the door. Even a human's skin would crawl at the feel of
magic if they tried to break in once he was done.
Guy nodded at her question about places to eat and suggested
several that weren't too far away. He wasn't surprised when the
three of them ended up settling on the Asian place that he liked
to go to. He had kind of talked it up more than the other places
he had suggested.
Guy and Raph followed Willow to the table she had picked and sat
down across from her. They too ordered; Raph opting for the
spicier side of the menu though Guy warned him it was going to
be a lot hotter than the thought. Guy shook his head and made
sure to order his friend a glass of milk for when Raph's mouth
was on fire and got something a bit milder.
The three of them made small talk about other things; mostly
because Guy knew anything more serious would be too much at the
moment for Willow. She had to have a lot going on in her head at
the moment and he didn't want to make her think about too much
all at once. He caught her staring at him a few times when she
didn't think he was looking and noticed her blushing.
Was Willow starting to get feelings for him? He couldn't help
but wonder. It shouldn't be too surprising though it kind of
was. He'd saved her twice already. Though he couldn't deny he
was starting to feel more than just protective feelings for her,
he knew that telling her right now might not be too helpful. She
was going through quite a lot already. Maybe in time he'd tell
her, but right now he should probably keep it to himself.
"So, maybe you should call your grandmother first to give her a
heads up that you're coming with some friends." Guy said
standing up after they had all finished eating and dropped some
bills on the table to cover their meals. "I'd hate to alarm her
or surprise her." He said leading the way out of the restaurant.
Raph was still sipping on his milk and finished it off before
following after. "That is probably a good idea. Especially if
she doesn't know about the magical world, I can cover my magical
vibes so they don't alarm her too much." He added.

Willow nodded. "Sure, I can do that." She said as she got her
phone out and dialed the home. She talked a little and chuckled.
"well ah..I have a few visitors that wanted to see you too
grandma, their two really nice guys and want to just talk.." She
listened a little as her face slowly went bright red. "GRANDMA!
you really shouldn't just- but...HEY!" She sat at the phone as
the tone of someone that had hung up sounded from it. She sighed
a little and closed it. "Ah sorry..grandma got all excited." She
wasn't going to tell either of them about what was said on the
phone, as her grandmother had asked her which one she was going
out with and that she looked forward to meeting the two. "But
she looks forward to our visit."
She dreaded it the whole ride there, as she was telling guy
where to go. Once they arrived, it looked nice and neat. The
bushes neatly trimmed, and everything looked uniform. They went
inside and most wouldn't know a difference at first. Not until
you got a closer glance. Those who have aged clearly inhabited
the area, while those who looked youthful in appearance took on
the nurse's role. It was apparent that wizards and witches
inhabited the place as youth was never the aim for some. They
continued their way as they were directed to a room by an elf,
who later chased after an elderly dwarf that seemed rather
grumpy speaking words that most wouldn't know in this world. "Mr
halabert." Said the female elf with her hands on her hips. "Such
language!"
Willow was much more aware that this place would be as neutral
as the bar and kept on edge on the idea of vampires possibly
being in there, as she recognized races a bit better. She began
to suspect her grandmother otherwordly, and she was right.
"Mymy..." Said a elderly woman, She was small and frail but her
personality gave off a different vibe. "Such handsome men! If I
was your age again willow I would-" Willow gained a horrified
look."GRANDMA!" the elderly woman chuckled.
"grandma.." she said sitting down and touching her hand."I had a
few questions..."Her grandmother softly held her hand as Willow
began to tell her story. Her grandmothers face at the end looked
fairly grim. "not good not good! that locket needs to be brought
back." She said and looked to the two men."thank you for keeping
willow safe..but please continue." Willow excused herself to use
the restroom as the old woman made a grim look. "Please..I never
ask this of anyone.. Do not let her see her birthmother." she
took a sigh. "her mother had a fling with a human..which
resulted willow..but due to her bloodline was given a choice of
the throne or her daughter...she didn't think twice." She told
them. "but the locket was left behind given what she is..she is
considered to be a type of boon." She blinked a little. "If any
one gets her it means the idea of power for their side..for
vampires its her blood, for werewolves, it means stronger
offspring....you get the idea." She told the two. "That locket
is suppose to be her own power, and given what it is should be a
dead giveaway...I've seen it once. it should be water." She told
them.
Willow had finished up in the bathroom and came in when she was
speaking of the locket and her powers."Water?" She got a bit
excited. "I need my locket to do it?" She blinked again feeling
her grandmothers hand. She didn't know everything willow heard
but, she went with what was said."Yes..just please stay safe,
and don't wander around at night and have one of these men take
you home after work." She said with a firm tone. She nodded.
"Okay..." She felt a kiss to her own cheek and smiled a bit as
her grandmother gained a mischevious look. "and don't hesitate
if you fall-" Willow went red again. "NOT COOL!"

Guy tried hard to not listen in on Willow's conversation with
her grandmother but it was kind of hard to not hear WIllow's
voice rising at the woman. He had the feeling that something
that the older woman had said had annoyed her. He wasn't the
type to ask about personal calls and raised an eyebrow at
Willow's explanation. "Ah I see." He said tugging on the collar
of his shirt a bit. "Well that's good," He didn't add more than
that, though he had the feeling that it was possible that Willow
wasn't as eager for the visit as her grandmother might be.
He followed Willow's directions easily and parked outside the
nursing home and then followed her inside. Raph followed behind
them, so that Guy was walking next to Willow when they arrived.
They both glanced around at the residents, though trying to
appear nonchalant about it so not to set anyone off. The last
thing they needed was to set off some old wizard or dwarf.
Guy couldn't help but grin at the feisty elderly woman's words
and winked at her. "I imagine back in the day you were quite the
vixen. Please Willow, I don't mind at all. A bit of harmless
flirting doesn't bother me." He said and moved to take a seat
nearby as Willow moved to talk with the old woman.
Raph raised an eyebrow and looked amused as well, not really
minding the older woman's words. He too took a seat and listened
as Willow relayed her story to the older woman. There was some
of it that he hadn't heard of from Guy, which had him frowning
slightly.
Both men exchanged glances at one another when they heard the
grandmother's grim tone about the locket. "We'll do our best in
finding it and getting it back to Willow. We'll make sure she
stays safe." Guy assured her. "I'm not about to let her come to
any harm if I can help it."
Guy felt a bit sad to hear that Willow's mother had never wanted
to be a part of her life. Then again a lot of faeborn were like
that. They didn't want anything to do with half-bloods. Hearing
that Willow's mother was someone in line for a throne had him
frowning. There were only so many royals; which meant that it
was possible that her mother had a family and other full-blood
children.
"So that's why the vampires came after her," Guy said with a
frown as he stroke his chin. "We need to find that locket and
soon. We need to find out who hired those goblins and imps and
retrieve it before someone tries to grab her."
Guy glanced up at Willow as she came back into the room and got
an excited look on her face about having some sort of an
ability. "We'll keep her safe as best as we can. Raph has
already put up a ton of protective spells in her apartment,
though I am wondering if it would be safer if she moves
somewhere safer for the time being." He said thoughtfully.
He blinked at Willow's exchange with her grandmother. He half
wondered what the grandmother had been referring to and stood up
and stretched out. "Thank you for all your help ma'am. We should
go see what we can find out about the locket and who in the area
is dealing with goblins and imps. If we want to return the
locket to the Willow."
They left the assisted living home and headed back out to Guy's
car. "So Raph, you will probably have better chances of talking
to any wizards and witches and getting information that could be
helpful. I can ask around the less morally minded folks that
hang around the bar. They are more likely to open up to me. But
we really need to act fast. " He said as he unlocked his car
doors and opened the door for Willow and shut it for her once
she was inside.
Then he drove back his bar, parked and led the way into his
office. "I'm going to make a few calls around and see what I can
find out before we start setting things up for work tonight. I'm
going to take the numbers to my apartment upstais, you are
welcome to come with me Willow."
Raph nodded. "I should go pop in a few places myself and ask
around. You'll be safer with Guy right now Willow. He might seem
almost mundane, but he's got a lot of protective spells in those
tats of his. They'll protect you as well if you're close
enough." The wizard told her before disappearing in a poof of
smoke.

Willow listened to the men talk a bit and blushed at the idea of
being close, or she felt the man imply about Guy. She followed
the man to his apartment, feeling instantly shy.It was nerv
wracking enough when he stayed there..but moreso being it was
his place. But at the same time, she didn't mind..seeing it.It
would get a better look into what was his world, and who he was
as a person.
She fidgeted a bit when she was let inside, she wasn't sure if
she should sit down or what, but she looked around nonetheless
taking in where he lived.

Guy could tell that Raph's comment about his tattoos might have
caused Willow to be a bit embarrassed.
"By close, he meant in the same room," He elaborated for her as
he led the way up the staircase to the upper area of the
warehouse that housed his bar.
He turned on the lights as he came into the massive one-room
loft apartment, illuminating the bachelor pad. "Have a seat
wherever you'd like. Or if you want, there are books you can
read if you want something to do." He said and set his car keys
down on the short coffee table near the army green couch.
His apartment was an odd assortment of furniture, items and had
a mesh netting over the top that he had a bike and several other
items stored out of the way. The apartment was rather industrial
looking and quite a few of the items looked as though they'd
been salvaged from a junkyard and refinished or reworked.
Guy walked over to the wooden table and propped the window open
to let in some fresh air and sat down in the leather chair and
began to call people on his list, speaking in a low voice as he
asked around for leads. It was a half hour later when he finally
finished and turned his phone off and let out a long sigh.
"Well, hopefully, Raph had better luck than I did. Everyone
I've called doesn't seem to have an idea who might be behind it.
Unless the Seelie court has targeted you. I really hope that
isn't the case," He said eyeing her.

"seelie court?" asked Willow curiously. She felt a bit confused
at what had been going on, her face was still a bit red seeing
the apartment. "what is that?" She walked around a little of his
place. Despite it being mismatched it felt cozy. She softly held
her hands behind her back in thought. She pulled down her hair
feeling a bit of a headache thinking it would relieve it and ran
her hands through her hair as she found a place to sit finally
after looking about.
"I just hope things get better, it just seems to be a never
ending rabbit hole and I'm alice trying to find a place to
land." She mumbled leaning her head back. "I mean...I want to
know more of my birth family now..I don't know what to do.

Guy frowned slightly at Willow's question. What had she read of
the book he had given her so far? The first chapter was on the
Seelie and Unseelie courts. "They are one of the two fairy
courts. The Seelie court are normally the side of that seeks
help from humans, so seeing as you are part human it is more
than likely your mother is from that court.
The Unseelie court is full of darker, morbid, and twisted faie
that like causing pain to others. So at least you're lucky
you've not caught their attention. That doesn't mean though that
the Seelie court will take kindly to you being what you are. All
fae are elitist and judge mental racists. They will want to make
your life miserable." He explained feeling like he was being
almost too blunt with her.
"I have been thinking that's why Evalynn has been treating you
the way she has. She's sensed that you are part fairy and it
annoys her that I am showing you more attention. Jealousy really
does not become her, it makes her mean and petty. I'm sorry that
I am to blame for that." He apologized.
He moved to sit down next to her on the couch where she had
taken a seat and looked over at her as she mumbled about being
stuck in a rabbit hole and her being Alice. "Well..like
Wonderland, this hidden World is dangerous. So..I can agree with
the analogy. I'm afraid that it's probably going to get worse
before it gets better," He told her eyeing her closely.
He'd had been staring at those beautiful eyes of hers and the
mesmerizing luscious lips of hers for nearly two days now. He
couldn't hold back any longer from the temptation going through
him. He moved up slightly and leaned in to place a soft kiss on
her lips.
The taste of her was intoxicating and he pressed in a bit harder
to deepen the kiss and reached up a hand to run through her
unbound hair.

Willow softly turned to listen a bit. She figured that was the
case for Evalynn, "I just wish that I could show that I' just.."
She heard him apologize for something he couldn't control and
frowned a bit. "Don't worry about it..jealousy tends to run deep
sometimes..its not your fault."
Willow paused a bit to hear him speak of it as the perfect
analogy to notice him looking at her..a bit closely. She was
beginning to wonder if she had offended him or sounded weird,
but instead she saw him lean in and felt him kiss her. It was
gentle until it felt like he pressed a bit harder and felt his
hand in her hair as she let herself come closely to guy. She put
her hand on his chest her hand softly gripping his shirt. His
mouth felt warm, and felt for a moment that she was somewhere
safe. She drew back to catch her breath.Her own arms had circled
around the man as she was kissed. She looked at him with a soft
look, her eyes blinking at him."..wow.." she mumbled in awe.

Guy wasn't really sure what Willow was starting to say when he
had interrupted her to talk about Evalynn. He couldn't help but
feel impressed when she told him to not worry about Evalynn's
treatment of her. He definitely agreed with her assessment that
jealousy ran deep in the other fairy. He'd gotten that feeling
when he had first met Evalynn over two years ago. In fact, even
when she had tried to scare off other women who had been
interested in him.
Guy felt his body get warmer when Willow leaned closer to him
and her hand went up to grip his shirt as they continued to
kiss. He opened his eyes when she pulled back to look her in the
eyes.
He glanced down at the arms she had wound around him and leaned
back against the couch pulling her into his lap. "Yeah," He
agreed. "I should be sorry but I'm not. I've been thinking about
doing that for awhile now." He admitted.
For a few moments, he just held her, trying to think of what
they would need to do next. His urge to protect her and keep her
safe seemed to have gotten even stronger. She felt small and
vulnerable in his arms, but he couldn't help but wonder if he
was going to be able to keep his promise to her grandmother or
not. Especially if they had to go up against the Seelie court.
His phone suddenly rang making him groan and glance over at
where he had left it on the table. "I should probably check and
see who that is," He said and reluctantly moved her back to the
couch and went to retrieve it. "Hello?"
His back straightened when he heard Raph's voice relaying what
he had found out. He hung up the phone an turned to look at her.
"He's found out some news. He's given me an address where we can
meet him. Come on, let's go find out what he's learned."

Willow felt herself pulled into his lap, blushing ever the
redder as he spoke."No need to be..I ah..." She blinked a bit
shy like."I have been tempted but..I thought you'd not be
interested in me like that." She sat there on his lap as he
seemed to think, her partly tempted to bring him back to her
lips and almost did till she heard the phone causing her to
groan inwardly at the seemingly intimate moment, She watched him
speak to raphael and nodded to the man."Okay." She said getting
up. She felt somewhat disappointed at the small moment they had,
wanting to reciprocate what he did to her to him. "do we need to
drive there?" She asked.

Guy couldn't help but smile at Willow's response, realizing that
her shyness had probably held her back from making the first
step. "Well, I guess it's a good thing I made the first move
then." He said smiling at her.
He had the feeling that she too was annoyed at the disruption
from the phone call. He was also a bit worried about what Raph
might have found out about Willow's bloodline. He glanced at the
clock as they both stood up. "Uh no it's not too far, we can
walk." He replied to her question.
He led her downstairs and through the bar, only recalling their
first reason for coming to the bar as they left was to check out
the security cameras. "Hopefully the news he has will be quick,
we have to be back to the bar in less than an hour," He sighed
as they walked down the sidewalk and through the downtown area.
He finally stopped at the entrance of what appeared to be an
abandoned antique shop and knocked a pattern out on the door. A
light blue rune shone on the door for a moment and then he
pushed the door open and led her into the Magic Council's
meeting room.
"Mr. Hawks, Ms. Ashton, we have been expecting you." A tall man
with long blond hair spoke standing from his chair to look them
over.
Raphael moved behind them to shut the door and motioned for them
to sit down. "We found out who your mother was, this is going to
come as a shock to you. She's the current Seelie Queen. Which
means you are more than likely being targeted by not just any
rivals she has, but also any family members that want you out of
the picture."
