It had already been a rather long day for Guy, he'd been up at
7:30 am working on the bookwork at the bar and going over the
expenses from the night before. Owning a bar was hard work and
pretty much nonstop. Still, he wouldn't have it any other way.
He didn't have to answer to anyone other than himself and he had
a job he enjoyed doing. Of course being an owner of a bar meant
he had a lot of employees to oversee when his General manager
wasn't in. Tonight was one of those nights that his GM was off,
which meant that Guy would be training the new waitress that had
been hired to replace Ruby.
It had been a hard blow to lose Ruby, the redhead had perfected
the art of flirting with customers and being a great waitress.
He rather hoped that the new girl would have some experience, he
hadn't yet gotten the opportunity to go over her resume. If Ted
had done his job, he would have hired someone capable of dealing
with the mixed crowd that frequented his bar. If not..well then
Guy had a lot of work to do with getting her ready.
The front door jingled and he got the paperwork back in order
and got up to go greet the new employee.
He blinked a bit surprised to see how young the woman looked.
She was on the short side and had a rather innocent look to her.
He frowned slightly as his dark eyes looked her over slowly.
"You must be Willow Ashton, I'm Guy Hawks, the owner of the bar.
I'll be training you a bit before the bar opens. There are a few
things that we need to go over. Have you had any experience as a
waitress before?" He asked in a slightly raspy tone.
He motioned for her to follow him as he walked back to the bar
counter. "Let me put these papers away in my office and then we
can get started. It'll just take me a moment. Then I'll show you
the employee break room and lockers. You'll want to get a lock
for your locker just to be on the safe side." He told her over
his shoulder as he moved down the side hallway to the back
office.
He stopped into the small office and laid the files on his desk
and then shut his door and moved to show her the slightly bigger
break room that was outfitted with a comfortable looking couch,
lockers and a few chairs for people to sit down on. "The break
room, you'll get fifteen to 20 minutes per shift for a break.
Though..you'll have to choose your break times wisely. If we get
slammed and you're back here we may have to pull you back in.
Slow times are the best time for breaks. If you need help
figuring out when to take them Ted or I can help you with that.
The last thing I want is a waitress that falls over from
exhaustion. You've got to take care of yourself." He said
casting another look at her.
Those duotone eyes of hers were rather striking and he couldn't
help but get lost in them. It made him wonder if perhaps she had
some fae or other race in her bloodline that she might not know
about. "Before we get started on the training, are there any
questions you might have?" He asked leaning on the door frame to
glance down at her.

Willow was a bundle of nerves as she came in. She blinked a
little looking about as she came in to hear her name."ah yes.."
Willow said. Her voice was soft spoken and gentle."I have
before, though a bar is my first." She admitted.
Willow blinked a bit as she followed the man as he spoke. She
knew how that was she always had her own lock for every job she
took. "I have that covered!" She said with a rather soft
chuckle. She was always careful with her things. She had been
taught caution growing up.
She stopped behind him in the office and followed him to the
break room."Understandable and I'll do as needed." She wasn't a
stranger to rushes, at least for a restaurant, this would be a
new experience for her, once he was done she shook her
head."But, for the sake of reminding you, I've told the man who
interviewed me but I have asthma." Willow stated. "So as such I
must keep my inhaler on me at all times...I hope you can
understand that." Willow said a bit nervously. She felt short
being by a man as tall as he was, though it seemed his
appearance reeked of 'intimidating' he didn't quite feel that
way.

Guy was relieved to hear that she had some experience with being
a waitress before. He didn't mind so much with it being the
first bar she had worked in. "That's good, it's not too much
different than a restaurant. The crowd is a bit rowdier than you
might encounter at a restaurant though." He told her.
Guy rather liked the sound of her soft chuckle. "That's good,
caution is a good thing to have. Especially working in a bar."
It got him to thinking of just how dangerous some of his patrons
could be to a new waitress that didn't know how to handle them.
"Speaking of which, if you ever feel like someone is bothering
you, make eye contact with me or one of the bouncers and we'll
deal with the individual. It happens very rarely but it's better
to be safe than sorry." He hoped that him telling her this
wouldn't scare her away from the job. Still, he had to be honest
with her.
Guy was glad that Willow had an idea of how rushes happened in
restaurants, it would come in handy at the bar. He listened
silently as she brought up that she had asthma and needed to
keep her inhaler on her.
"That won't be a big deal if you need to you should leave an
extra one with the first aid kit in case of an emergency. My
biggest concern is for my employees to be safe." He replied,
pulling back a bit so she didn't feel like he was trying to
intimidate her.
"Well, then let's go get the training started. Your previous
experience should come in handy though there are a few new
things that you'll have to learn." He said leading the way back
to the bar.
"The work uniform is pretty relaxed, a black shirt, dark jeans
or black pants, black tennis shoes or sturdy shoes. Some of the
girls do like to make their shirts tighter by knotting them up
on the side but that's their choice. Ponytails or hairstyles
with the hair pulled up works best. The bar can get a bit on the
hot side." He added and moved to set up a tray of drinks and
handed her an apron with the bar's logo on the bottom corner.
"If it gets soiled just drop it in with the laundry in the back,
we keep up on washing them. If you need a clean one you can grab
a new one from the back at any time."
The next hour and a half, Guy ran her through the training that
she'd need. He also gave her a guide of the tables and how they
were numbered and went with her over how to key in the food
items and drinks into the system they used. "As for closing
procedures, we'll go over those later after your first shift. I
think that's all you need to know for now. Oh, and whatever tips
you get, you keep for yourself." He added as he got the drink
tray they had practiced with put away.
"So it looks like you have an hour or so before your first shift
starts. Mondays are usually on the slow side for the bar, so it
should be an easy night to start. I should get back to my
paperwork and try and finish that up. I'll see you at 4:00 to
start opening procedures." He said shooting her a smile.

HTML https://i.imgur.com/PzhdZlC.png
"ah yes I figured it would be a learning experience."Said willow
in response to his first. Though she had no idea what she would
be really encountering once things really open up. She smiled a
bit, She blinked a bit at the idea of someone doing something
she wouldn't like and said."well that is good to know. I'll make
sure to do that if I run into any trouble, and yes I can do
that."
She saw him draw back and felt a bit more comfortable now that
he didn't seem to loom in the doorway. It seemed she made it
pretty clear with her body language. She blushed a bit
shamefully at herself for acting as she was.
Willow followed him back as he mentioned about new things
needing to be learned. She expected as much being it was a bar
rather than a restaurant He gave a basic rundown of the uniform
that she should wear and what to do with the aprons. She nodded
a bit too enthusiastically as she listened.A few thoughts came
to mind about the man the way he sounded and moved. He was kind
of cute..but she knew it was frowned upon about dating
coworkers.
In the next hour and a half of her training, she asked basic
questions to specific ones making sense of how things work. She
heard about keeping tips, that was normal in any restaurant
though that was the second reason she left, since the boss was
taking 10 percent of their tips.
"Okay I will see you then," She said with a smile. "Slow is good
it will give a chance to get the hang of things is there
anything else I should do that may benefit the bar?" Willow
asked with a soft blink.

Guy was relieved that Willow didn't sound off-put by there were
people who might bother her.
"Good, I just want to make sure you're not stuck in an
uncomfortable situation. Some of the people can get a bit handsy
at times. The other waitresses will point them out to you and
will help you out if you need it as well. The staff tends to try
and help each other out as much as we can. We're kind of like a
family in that aspect." He explained.
Guy was pleased with how well she managed to get through the
training. He had a feeling that Willow would do well as an
addition to the staff. Though of course, time would tell how
well she fit in with the other workers. He had a feeling that
would be her biggest obstacle. Hopefully, the other waitresses
would be kind to her; though a lot of them were missing Ruby.
Guy cocked his head to the side and ran his hand down his neck
as he thought over her question. "I guess the only other thing I
can think of is to have a friendly smile. Most people who come
here come for the atmosphere and the friendly staff." He told
her with a slight smile. "I'm pretty sure you'll be able to do
that though. Oh, there's a back entrance where staff normally
comes in. There's also employee parking in the back. It's well
lit and has cameras for safety. I will see you later Willow. Oh
feel free to call me Guy, everyone does." He added and followed
her to the front door to let her out.
Once he had let her out and closed the door behind her, Guy went
back to tackle the paperwork. He worked hard until nearly 4 pm
when he heard the staff starting to rush in and start to get
things ready for opening. He put away his paperwork and shot off
his office light and came out to help and oversee the prep work.
"Hey everyone, as you might recall, Ruby left us about a week
ago, so Ted hired a new waitress. Everyone, I'd like you to meet
Willow, the new girl." He said looking over at the girl who was
standing to one side. "Willow, to your left is Evalynn, Jackie,
Nolan, and Norah the twins, Hannah, Louis and Carla. Don't worry
there's not going to be a quiz at the end of the night." He
assured her. "Marcus and Trip are our amazing chefs. And then
there's Stefano and Rodrigo our security guys." He added
pointing out the two beefy muscular men who were standing with
their arms over their chests.
"Let's get going and get this place ready for business." He said
with a bright grin.
He shot another glance at Willow, wondering if she noticed that
the majority of her coworkers were more than human. Evalynn was
part fairy, Jackie was a werewolf, Nolan and Norah were elves.
As for the others, they were mixed, half human half other races
so their differences weren't as noticeable. Though Carla's eyes
often gave her away her wood nymph heritage when they flashed
every now and then.
Stefano and Rodrigo claimed to have giant blood in them, which
Guy was sure was true due to their immense strength and size.
They usually didn't have much trouble getting unruly patrons out
of the bar thankfully.
Louis, Nolan and Carla moved behind the bar to get things ready
for the night, setting up glasses and getting their lemons and
other items ready for their mixed drinks. The rest of the staff
took the time to move the chairs and stools down from the tables
and wiped the tables off. It took about a good half hour with
everyone working before the place was ready for customers.
"Would you like to turn on the sign Willow?" He asked her as he
moved towards the front door to unlock it for their first
customers who were waiting outside.
A few of the patrons glanced at Willow as they came in and took
their regular seats in the bar. "Anything else you need?" He
asked her as he watched the other waitresses move to wait on
their regular people flirting a bit and taking care of the
customers. "Ah, hello Mr. Kirkpatrick, nice to see you. Willow
will be waiting on you this evening," He said welcoming an older
gentleman and walking the man over to an open table in Willow's
area. "If you need anything just let me know," He told her
before he left her to take care of the man.

Willow listened and smiled a bit at him. "Okay Guy..." she said
with a soft smile. She waved him off as she headed out the door,
eager for her first night. She just hoped everyone liked her.
When Willow arrived that night she felt a bit off, She didn't
know why. She was dressed as per attire her things in the locker
and it locked. She took a breath as she heard Guy come in to
making introductions. A few waved obviously with small smiles,
though she swore Evalynn gave a bit of an ugly look. She took a
bit of a breath. "Hello," she said smiling a bit "I hope we can
work well together." She said with a bright smile. Willow
followed Guy with the others taking in their looks, she could of
sworn Carla's eyes did something strange, she shook her head
figuring she was imagining things. As for the elves, in this
modern day and age, body modifications was the norm, and she
figured they did that to suit their looks, which was fine to
her.
She got a table or two ready with the others and made sure it
was okay to sit in. Willow had gotten the last chair down where
she was at when she heard guy ask her about turning on the sign.
Her cheeks colored a little. "Okay!" She said as she went over
and turned it on. She felt a few glances, but it was normal, she
was new after all."No I'm good, " She said smiling a bit. "Hello
Mr. Kirkpatrick, I'll be serving you this evening, what can I
get you today?" She asked the gentlemen her smile bright, her
voice taking on a warm and inviting sound. Her posture was quite
straight, giving an air of confidence as she got her notebook.
The gentleman flashed a smile."Scotch on the rocks if you
please." Willow nodded. "Scotch on the rocks." She said with a
bit of a smile."your eyes are quite stunning..do you have fae in
you?" She blinked a bit with a bit of confusion."I apologize
but..what was that you asked me?" The older man, a wizard of
sorts could tell when magic resided in people, it was faint, but
it was in this girl. "Fae..a type of fairy." She blinked again
uncertain how to answer. She was a bit worried he might be on
the crazy side but went with it."I am actually not sure, my
father is the only one living, my mother long since passed bless
her soul." She said with a bit of honesty."ah...how sad.." Said
the man sitting back."Let me get your order I'll be right back."
She said with a warmth to it.
Willow got the bar giving the order and was taking it back when
she accidentally bumped into a patron, it wasn't entirely her
fault given one had gotten loud a bit laughing at a joke to
scoot back to use the bathroom causing her to bump into said
patron, spilling a bit of drink on his shirt."oh my!" she
exclaimed."I'm so sorry let me.." She felt her arm grabbed to
come face to face with a pair of fangs, and an angry man, by the
name of Edward McCallister. "You just ruined my shirt...and
where is Ruby?" She blinked a bit her eyes flitting around for
help, "I really am sorry, but she no longer works here and I.."
She started feeling her breath catch a bit and her arm squeezed
a little."Well I hope you can make up for what you did. " He
drew close. He was once one of ruby's regulars and usually she
could keep him in line. He sniffed as she felt her chest
tightening a little. He lightly ran a finger on her neck that
seemed to set off all sorts of flags in her head and she finally
looked at someone to get her out of the situation, guy. She was
beginning to wheeze a bit trying to calm her breathing. nonono
she repeated a bit in her head. not now...

Guy watched the reactions of the other waitresses and noticed
Evalynn's ugly look at Willow. He'd have to have a talk with her
later he decided. Ruby's choice to leave had been her own and he
really didn't want Evalynn giving Willow any trouble. Guy
relaxed a bit seeing that Willow didn't find the elves ears
strange or odd. Though he had the strangest feeling that it was
possible that Willow might not realize they were more than
human.
Guy found he liked Willow's attitude and the way she greeted the
customer. He kept a close eye on her as he moved across the bar
to check in and talk with some of the other patrons. He had
gotten lost in conversation with an old friend of his father's
when he felt a flash of wariness go through him.
He glanced up and searched the bar for Willow. He frowned when
he spied McCallister standing close to Willow with a firm grasp
on her arm. Guy excused himself from and walked over to the
vampire and moved to grab the finger that was inching down
Willow's neck.
"Hands off Edward, step back." He ordered. "You know the rules,"
He said in a terse tone. "If you need a dry shirt I will gladly
get you one. It was an accident from what I could see."
The vampire half snarled at him but withdrew his hand from
around Willow's arm and jerked his finger out of Guy's grasp.
"Fine, where's Ruby? What did this little girl mean by Ruby not
working here?"
Guy eyed Edward closely and turned to shoot a reassuring look at
Willow. He frowned slightly hearing her wheezing breathes. "Go
take care of yourself Willow, it sounds like you're having an
asthma attack." He said kindly.
He turned back to Edward and with an annoyed look on his face.
"I can understand that you are disappointed that Ruby isn't
here, but accosting my employees is not acceptable. Ruby quit
last week, she didn't give me a reason, not that I would tell
you. Her private life is not any of my business nor is it yours.
If you want to stay and drink, go take a seat. I'll send Evalynn
over to serve you. If you don't want to drink I can have you
escorted out."

Willow heard his voice to calm down a bit. She heard the snarl
making her feel actual fear, Edward could smell that clearly and
he reveled in it. "Fine...I'll have Eva serve me, just make sure
you train her better...in keeping aware of her surroundings." he
said with a dark look before taking his usual spot in the
corner.
Meanwhile after nodding to Guy she was in the breakroom, and had
taken a hit, when Jackie came in, out of concern. She always
made sure she served no vampire, due to circumstances of their
kind which was understandable."I bet that was scary." she said
giving a glass of water. Willow nodded taking it after taking
one more hit."Y..yeah...the way he touched me just didn't feel
right.." She said. Her breathing returning to normal."I must of
messed up today.." She sighed a bit."OH! I got to get the drink
to my customer!" She said in worried tone."wait!" jackie gently
took her arm and sat her down. "I'll take care of it." She said
with a warm friendly smile. "Mr. Kirkpatrick is one of the
easiest customers and the most understanding..after all he is
quite a wizard. You should totally ask him to do a trick
sometime, he loves it when waitresses ask." Willow
blinked."Wizard?"
While she perplexed what she was told, Jackie went and served
the mans order. He thanked her warmly, and she went back to
check on her..
Jackie tilted her head curiously at how she was acting.."Tell me
did you notice anything different about anybody?" Willow blinked
as she said."Well I noticed one or two but...body modifications
are normal...there are people that want to look like elves."
Jackie chuckled."Honey...their real." Willow made another
confused look. OH hoho! Jackie was going to have fun with this
one. She clearly had fae in her she could smell it
strongly."come here.." she motioned as she came up to the door.
Mr Kirkpatrick was doing his trick, making a smoke like dragon
fly around. Willows eye's widened."Thats just one
thing...Everyone is different, granted I don't have problems
till the full moon..during that time I'm off or I might eat
someone." Willow looked at her a bit stunned. "Let it sink in."
Jackie said leaning against the doorframe, her sandy blonde hair
tied up in pigtails. Her soft brown eyes taking in her
expression.
"So I was..." willow started looking at the vampire now."Is he a
v...." She started."vampire?" Jackie nodded to watch the color
drain from willow's face. "Its okay Guy was there, he's use to
this sort of thing and knows how to handle any magical
being."And for the record carla is a nymph..course you'll only
notice when her eyes flash differently." Willow remembered
seeing it. "As for eva watch her, she may be a fairy but if she
doesn't like you she's liable for tricks.that and she liked ruby
alot...so she doesn't do change well." Willow nodded a little.
"o..okay." she sat down again taking in what the werewolf told
her. She still didn't believe in it, but now that she thought
about it there were some people visibly different walking in
now. She took a breath and smiled."it's going to take getting
use to... I think I'm in a dream."she said.
Once she calmed down she thanked guy for helping her and went to
apologize to her first customer. He simply smiled and a magical
flash occurred, in his hand a crystal flower."nownow, don't
worry about it, its just the first day and I already think I
have a favorite new waitress." He placed it in her hand."Keep
that confidence. When your fae powers come to awaken you'll
understand just a little more." She blinked a bit and
smiled."Thank you for understanding." She said with a bright
smile. The rest of the night went quite smoothly, granted
Evalynn's eyes would occasionally shoot her way, along with
anothers, granted the vampire was much more discreet.
By the end of the shift, it was now time to learn closing
procedures. She was a bit suprised at the amount of tips she had
gotten. She had shown she kept good composure and focused on the
customer's needs. She smiled a bit as she waited for
instruction.

Guy sensed the fear that rolled through Willow because of the
vampire's snarl. His eyes narrowed at the creature, turning
slightly dark in warning.
"You do that then," He said tersely watching the vampire closely
as Edward moved to take his normal spot. He sighed and ran his
hand through his hair. Apparently, the poor girl didn't know
much about the hidden world. It seemed that there was something
else he'd have to help her learn about.
After making sure there wasn't a mess, Guy walked down the hall
towards the break room. When he heard Jackie's soft voice
speaking to Willow he relaxed a bit. He was glad that the
werewolf had gone to check on Willow, Jackie did have a tender
spot for new people and often took them under her wing. Guy
turned around and moved to greet a group of witches that had
entered and escorted them to a table taking a moment to talk to
them.
He and the witches all turned to watch Mr. Kirkpatrick perform a
trick, showing off a bit like he normally did. He caught sight
of Willow watching wide-eyed at the sight of the smoke dragon
flying around the room. Apparently, she was green around the
ears even with her fae blood. It made Guy wonder if one of her
parents had kept her in the dark about her heritage. It really
wasn't unheard of. Guy hadn't found out about the magic world
until he was around ten years old.
"Hey, don't worry about it too much Willow," he told the girl
when she came to thank him. "It's kind of my job to make sure
you're safe."
Guy was constantly moving around the floor and even behind the
bar for a bit while one of the bartenders took their break
during the night. However, it didn't escape his notice that both
Eva and Edward were watching Willow the rest of the evening. It
made him feel a bit wary that they might feel like doing
something to Willow and put him on edge.
He was glad when the night ended without any more incidents and
the patrons left for home. "Willow, how about you wipe down the
tables?" He suggested handing the girl a cloth and some cleaning
spray. "When you're done with that come see me in my office." He
told the girl and shot a look at Eva.
"Everyone else you know what needs to be done, so get to it. The
sooner you're done the sooner you can go." He told the other
workers and moved to gather up the till drawers to count and go
over the money. It was a job that only he and Ted had the
authority to oversee. He carried the drawers back to his office
and got to work counting it out and checking it against the
money they had started with at the beginning of the evening.

HTML https://i.imgur.com/PzhdZlC.png
Willow smiled and took the cloth and spray."Okay, I'll take care
of it."She went to scrub the tables as Eva looked at guy
noticing a look and blinked. She ruffled a bit at the sound of
the new girl going to guy's office. Things were generally smooth
as she cleaned up as eva finally spoke up admist the cleaning.
She was mopping when she stood there."Okay.." She said blinking
at the girl. Willow looked up from scrubbing on one of the last
three tables."look, I just.." she saw the girls fist ball a
little in frustration."your only here for a day and one incident
with him helping you right away already..can't you handle a
vampire?"
Willow blinked a little."I..didn't know they existed..." Jackie
took notice and naturally got a bit closer to willow. She didn't
like how eva smelled. "Still you took this job..maybe you should
think of quitting...I mean this world is totally new to
you...bet you thought the elves were human." Her face colored a
bit as the woman was right. She turned back to her work."Hey give
the girl a break." Said Nolan. "She didn't know we even existed
till now." Said her twin Norah. Eva sighed."Fine...still think
she's better off finding a job for humans." She said turning a
bit.
Willow finished up and went to the office sighing a bit. She
walked by Eva who humphed and finished up. She wasn't liking
this. She liked guy for a long time, and this new one seemed to
gained his attention a different way..and she could sense it. IN
a way she was acting a bit territorial.
She managed to get into the office and sat down. Willow knew
things would eventually get better. she had the tips to prove
she was good enough to be there..She didn't get why Eva was
acting the way she was.

Guy might not have shown it, but he had picked up on some of
what Eva had said to Willow. He had long known the fairy had a
crush on him and made a point to avoid her and not encourage it
in the slightest. He knew that wasn't going to stop the highly
amorous female from having feelings for him though. He just
didn't want Willow to be on the receiving end of Evalynn's
frustration with him.
It wasn't that there were rules against dating staff; it was a
personal rule of his to never get involved with full bloods.
Those romances never ended well. It was why Ruby had had to
leave so abruptly. Her family, a royal family, had found out
about her romance with a half-breed and had demanded she cut it
off with them and come back to her royal duties. It hadn't ended
well, and Guy wasn't about to be on the bad side of Eva's
family. Her family wasn't much different than Ruby's was.
He was nearly finished with counting up the proceeds of the
night and was entering the sums in the computer program that
kept track when Willow came into his office. "Give me two
minutes," He said without looking up as he typed in the numbers
quickly with one hand and saved his work.
He grabbed the money and moved to the locked safe and opened it
and tucked the money inside for safe keeping. He moved back
after locking it and moved to sit down across from Willow in the
second chair and looked her in the eyes for a moment as he tried
to think of what to say.
"So, I noticed that you were a bit startled by what you saw
tonight. It seems as though there's more than I can help you
learn about the hidden world. Umm.." he got up and moved to grab
a book off his shelf and handed it to her. "Read this, it should
help you understand everything a bit better. You can get it back
to me when you're done with it." He said and held it out to her.
It was a dark brown leather with gold lettering on the front of
it, with the words "Guy's Grimoire" emblazoned on it. "It's kind
of a personal book, so take good care of it." He said. "It's my
notes on all the creatures and races and the magic that's been
kept hidden from you until now."

HTML https://i.imgur.com/PzhdZlC.png
She waited a bit as he seemed to get it done quite quickly. her
mouth formed an o a bit at what he did. She watched him do his
work before sitting across from her. She felt him...staring a
little. She wasn't sure what to say her eyes blinked a bit.
Willow took the book her eyes skimming a little. "Well I'll read
it so I don't end up like that again." She said with a
sigh."though its normal to have a few moments in any
restaurant...it just had to be a vampire." she said chuckling a
little. "And it seems I'll need to talk to dad..I don't know
about my mothers side much but I know she passed away." She said
quietly. She looked at her clock."Well I'll see you tomorrow and
promise I will do better." She said as she moved to the door to
head to the locker rooms to get her things."I'll see you
tomorrow okay?" She asked waving a bit before she went to get
her things. She made her way to the locker room, She unlocked it
and got her little bag slipping the book in her bag.
She had a bit of a bad vibe about walking out of the door.
Almost like a movie where someone is screaming at her to not go
wherever she is going, she took a breath and smiled at the
others."See you guys tomorrow."
"bye!" .."See ya" ..."See ya tomorrow." came out from the
others.

Guy watched as Willow closely as she took the book from him.
"Well reading about the races and encountering them is
completely different. You'll get better at dealing with them in
time, don't feel bad if you need time to get used to it. It is a
lot to wrap your mind around at first." He told her.
Willow mentioning that her mother had passed away had Guy feel a
bit odd. Fae born were actually pretty hard to kill and they
didn't normally die from sicknesses or diseases. It made him
wonder how Willow's mother had passed. Or if perhaps Willow
might be wrong in thinking her mother was the one that she got
her fae blood from.
"You didn't do badly tonight Willow, Edward is a rather picky
and cantankerous vampire. Just keep an eye out for him. I'll be
seeing you tomorrow," He agreed.
He followed her out the door, smiling at how cute she was. There
was something about her naive and trusting manner that he found
refreshing. He turned off the light in his office and closed the
door.
He listened to her saying good bye to the others and got another
wave of wariness go through him. "Hold on, I'll walk you out
Willow." He said not caring what the others thought. When he had
this feeling so many times in one night, it never boded well.
He moved to open the back door and peered out, letting his eyes
adjust to the darkness he focused his hearing. When he didn't
hear anything he motioned for her stay close as he led her out
of the building. "Where'd you park?" He asked glancing around
for a car that looked unfamiliar.
Two seconds later, something fast and hard ran into them. Guy
swore, wrapping his arms around her and twisting so he fell on
the ground pulling her on top of him. He let out a growl of
annoyance and grabbed for his protective charm and activated the
spell that would deter their attacker. He rolled over and shoved
himself up, pulling Willow up with him, one of his arms still
wrapped protectively around her.
"Are you okay Willow?" He asked his eyes flickering around them
as he turned slowly in a circle trying to figure out where their
attacker might come from next.
Another flash of something running at super human speed caught
the corner of his eye and he turned to face the movement. This
time the attacker hit an invisible wall and was thrown back a
good thirty feet and crumpled to the ground with a loud groan.
Guy couldn't help but smirk and shook his head. "Serves you
right, idiot thieving vamp punk." He said in an annoyed tone.
"Come on Willow, let's get you home."

Willow looked back and smiled. "okay thank you...for some reason
I feel really uneasy.." She said."Ah I walked here.." she said
To guy. "I actually only live several blocks from here in an
apartment."
Eva gave a jealous look, her mouth turning into a frown. Again!
she thought, "no bloody way in hell I'm letting her take him."
She mumbled under her breath. Jackie gave a bit of a wary look
at Eva, she was going to have to inform Guy about how she was
acting so he could make it clear that she couldn't act the way
she thinks she can all the time. Nora and Nolan got in their
cars they noticed the vampire still slumped and looked at each
other to pass over it.
The moments felt like they blared by she felt something run into
them. She blushed brightly as she realized She was on top of the
man."y.yeah what was that?" She asked to not notice the movement
till she heard a bit of a groan and looked back to see a man
groan as he crumpled to hearing that it was another vampire.
"y..yeah that would be great." She took in a shaky breath,
making sure her inhaler was on her in case this drove her into
another attack.
After the rather scary encounter they began the walk to her
home. She blinked softly naturally looking behind her. Things
use to be so safe...now it didn't feel like that. She always
walked at night being her favorite time of day. It took some
time at least fifteen minutes by foot to reach her home. She
went up two flights of stairs to the third floor, and stopped in
front of her door."thanks guy..I am really sorry for the
trouble." She said with a sigh.

Guy's eyebrows narrowed slightly as he looked at Willow with a
bit of curiosity. So she had felt uneasy as well? It made him
wonder what kind of faerie blood she had in her. It was possible
that it was much like his own which was why she had been able to
sense that something was off.
"Ah well, then I will walk you home. It's really not all that
safe outside at this hour. Even if you only live a few blocks
away," He said not wanting her to walk by herself.
He could feel someone's eyes following them as they walked
outside and he couldn't help but roll his eyes. It was sure to
have been Eva that had been staring daggers at them. He was
definitely going to have to talk to her and soon.
Guy could tell by the way Willow was talking that she was having
a bit of difficulty breathing. Not really all that surprising
after having two vampires try to attack her in one night. This
wasn't acceptable at all. If he had to he'd call a meeting of
the supernatural council to talk to them about the vampire hive
and taking it out. He was rather sick and tired of Edward and
his punks trying to scare and bother him and the people who came
to his bar. Guy's Grimoire was supposed to be a neutral zone, so
if the attacks could be traced back to Edward it could be used
to evict him from the territory he had claimed.
Guy pulled his phone out as he glared down at the vampire that
was still crumpled on the ground and the half-flattened one that
Nolan and Norah had run over. He dialed some supernatural
officers that he knew and told them that he had two vampires
that needed to be picked up. Then he moved texted the bouncers
to come keep an eye on the miscreants and escorted Willow out of
the parking lot and towards her apartment.
The walk didn't take too long and they were soon walking up two
flights of stairs and stopping in front of her apartment door.
"You don't need to apologize and it's not any trouble walking
you home," Guy said looking her over closely.
"Maybe I should put up some protective spells around your door
and windows. Just to be on the safe side." He said eying the
apartment complex. It would be rather easy for one of the
vampire's human lackeys to get in and hurt her during the day.
"I may need to call my wizard friend to put up some wards." He
more so murmured to himself.

do you think its necessary?" Willow asked guy as she unlocked
her door and invited him in to her apartment. It was a simple
one a living room that had a kitchen with a bar seperating the
two areas, and to the left would be a restroom and bedroom."Its
just been an odd first day...I'm sure things can get better."
she said with a sense of optimism. She pulled out one of her
fruit drinks and asked if he wanted one..after all he did walk
her home.
"I just don't get it..It'll take some time getting use to..I
just hope I don't offend or accidentally bump into someone else
like that..." Willow sighed, "though the other two coming out of
nowhere..was a bit..suspicious?" She said blinking a little.
"has this ever happened to anyone else?"
She finally came out with it after a bit of
chatter."ah..uhm...what are you exactly? I mean you mentioned
knowing spells..so are you a type of wizard?" she asked eyeing
him over a little. She knew she had alot to learn especially
about herself..which meant phone calls to her father, and any
other family members that may know. She thought if she had
something in her they would of said something at some point, but
she felt it was hidden from her for so long and just didn't
understand why.

Guy sighed at Willow's question. "Yes it is necessary," he said
feeling as though there must be something he'd missed about
Willow. For Edward to send Vampires after Willow, meant that he
must really want a taste of her. Which had Guy concerned. The
last thing he wanted was to scare the poor girl though. She'd
just learned about the supernatural world.
He followed her into her apartment and made sure to close the
door behind him before glancing around. It was a rather well
kept and clean apartment. "It has been a rather strange day, I'm
sure it will get better," He agreed though he had a feeling that
things would get worse before they got better. Dealing with
vampires like Edward usually did. He needed to figure out what
the vampire had smelled on her and why he was so set on getting
Willow.
He glanced up when she offered him a fruit drink. "Uh yeah, that
would be helpful. Usually after going through an adrenaline rush
like that you do need a bit of sugar to keep from coming down
too quickly from it." He said and took the drink she gave him,
opened it and took a long swig.
"I have to be honest, I don't think it was because you just
happened to bump into him. It was how you smelled to him. There
are certain fae or halflings that smell really good to vampires,
and they'll do whatever they can to get their blood. Even by
kidnapping them. That's why I'm so concerned. The last thing you
want is to become a vampire's blood slave." He said shifting on
his feet slightly. "It's happened a lot actually. Though there
are new ways of keeping vampires out, it doesn't mean they won't
find someone else to help them. I hate to scare you, but you
really do need to know this."
Guy blinked at her question. "I'm a halfling, part Fairy, part
Spark. Sparks are what the supernaturals call humans who have
magical abilities. I'm lucky I suppose. Not exactly a full blown
wizard no. I wish. If I had more magic I could have been one. As
it is I have enough for protection purposes, and not too much
more. It does come in handy though. Especially when I want to
keep my employees protected. Though more elaborate protective
spells I have to get help with." He explained.
"Oh, my bar is a neutral zone, so inside any supernatural is
supposed to go by the rules the council created. Fighting is not
allowed, nor is attacking..though some customers do get grabby
like you experienced earlier."

Willow heard him speak a bit and smiled as he took a drink, and
downed her own. She almost spat it out at the sound of her being
seen as food. She placed her hand on her neck when he mentioned
blood slave.. "..that is scary." She blinked a bit looking at
her drink.
She looked at him. "I see...The wizard gentleman called me a
type of fae..but I don't know what I am...Got alot to
learn...and now my life to think about...just wonderful." Willow
had placed her drink down to wipe her face. Tears slowly dripped
out. "i'm sorry..I must of created such a problem." Her hand
knocked her own drink over accidentally as she placed her hand
on the counter. "Ah!" she went and grabbed a towel. She went and
sopped up what she could.
"what am I going to do?" she said looking at the counter looking
at the smear on the counter. She covered her face to sob a bit
more at her situation."sorry.. I..ah..." she wiped her face a
bit with her hand. "I feel like i just created more work for
you.."She looked at him quietly. "is it really..okay if I work
there?"
