       New Adventure and New faces
By: Minyaagar Date: February 24, 2026, 5:39 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Mona was enjoying some time outside- managing to get out of her
math class to a break that would turn to skipping some classes.
The red head running around the forest, till she happened upon a
tree, as she found a spot to sit, she didn’t care for the
‘forbidden forest’ rules. She found it way to enticing to see
what was in the forest. “Mmm.. I don’t see anything that would
make this forest bad..” she said to herself. Her backpack
landing on the ground with her as she shifted for her water
bottle. “Mmm… where to first…” said the bright eyed girl in
       thought.
       —fin—
The tree Mona had chosen just happened to be the home of a young
nymph. The moment she'd felt the other's presence she stirred
from her sleep and slowly emerged, her form in spirit form
before she deemed the other safe enough to approach.
Dahlia moved down from the top of the tree, and found a branch
to perch on. Then she turned to dangle, her legs gripping the
branch so her head was dangling a few feet from the red haired
       girl.
"Hello there Red, You playing hookie?" She questioned with a
       cheeky expression.
       -----
Mona was taking in the quiet of the forest. The sounds of birds
and critters scrambling across the forest floor.. it felt so
peaceful. But the moment she went for a drink would sputter at
the question of the mysterious girl that was hanging upside down
       from the branch above.
She gained her barings before taking a breath to let it out
attempting to not choke on the very water she needed. She
managed to get out.”maybe to a few classes.. I did go to the
morning ones.. don’t think I’ve seen you before.” Said the red
head as her eye swept over the girl, blushing ever so lightly at
       how cute she looked.
She looked at the girl with some apprehension and caution as she
gave her first name, “my name is Mona.. what is yours?” She
asked as she set her bottle of water down to settle back.
       —fin—
Dahlia let out a happy laugh which floated on the air and echoed
a bit before fading. "Sorry if I startled you. You all right?"
She asked softly, hearing the slight strain in the other's
       voice.
"Mo-na, that's pretty," she said slowly enunciating the name.
"Oh I'm Dahlia, Dahlia Evergreen. I live out here in the
       forest."
Dahlia was a bit cautious about saying what she was just yet,
though she was quite intrigued by the other young woman. Having
a visitor was a change of pace for her. Plus she was still
waiting for one if the local wizards to create her a talisman
that would let her leave the forest for short periods.
"Were you planning on exploring the forest? I could be your
guide!" She suggested and moved to flip down from the branch,
making her hair fall down into her face.
She pulled it back over her shoulder, a bright smile lighting up
       her entire face.
       ----
“Mmhmm.. totally- just went down the wrong tube.” Said the red
head as she heard dahlia repeat her name. “Yeah.. I don’t like
staying in one place much- I travel during the summer with the
parents though! Our last excursion we got to see the Eiffel
Tower in France. Honestly would love to go more parks though or
Niagara Falls- again. it’s pretty.” She said as she fiddled
with her bottle.”figured this place looked neat to explore.. you
       live close to here?”
Mona shifted her hair over her ear a little as her eye would
trail away and back, almost shy. The girl trying to understand
why she felt so flustered over someone she just met.
       —fin—
"oh that's good! Though if it's needed I do know all th first
aid and CPR stuff," she reassured the other teen.
Her eyes widened at Mona's talking about traveling and seeing
the Eiffel tower. A look of longing filled her face, thinking of
how amazing it would be to travel the world.
"That sounds wonderful, one day I hope to travel to far off
places myself. Oh and have many many adventures!"
Dahlia bit her lip at the question of where she lived. "Umm yes,
I do live close. Its not a traditional house though. I have a
tree house I live in," she explained and then reached to take
Mona's hand and drew her back to point out the cleverly
disguised house that was nestled and hidden behind the foliage.
"It's a bit tricky getting up there, but if you want to see it I
       can show you,"
       ----
Mona blinked a bit to hear her speak. She could see the wistful
look of the girl and knew it well. She wondered what kept the
girl in place till she noticed a nervous expression.
Mona had gotten up to sling her backpack on before feeling her
hand taken, the girl turning bright as red as her hair. There
she saw a rather quaint home, “I wouldn’t mind seeing your
home..” said the rather impulsive girl- with no regard of what
could be around or not. Mona slid her hand out as her face took
in the tree, “maybe you can climb first so I can get the idea?”
She asked before slinking a bit behind the girl to see what she
       would do.
       -----
.Dahlia was a bit surprised at how impulsive the other was, and
for a moment felt a bit unsure how Mona would react to what she
was. It wasn't like she could go up without revealing it.
"Well I don't actually climb up. I'm a nymph, and this is my
tree. I more so can just go inside the tree and float up to the
top. Oh..hold on. I'll get some vines for you to use,"
Dahlia moved towards the tree and focused so her body became
transparent then she slipped into the tree and floated up to the
very top. She came out a few moments later on one of the higher
branches and focused her growing powers on some of the vines
       until they reached the ground.
"Just grab on and I'll bring you up!" Dahlia called out.
It took a few moments for her to pull Mona up to where she was.
"Watch your step, the branches can be slippery at times," she
warned and then led Mona to the hidden door and made a slight
motion with her fingers which made the vines pull the door open.
"It's not all that big, but it's all mine," Dahlia said proudly
       and then led Mona inside.
The interior of the treehouse was a mix of modern and nature,
flowers growing up around bookshelves and the small windows. A
small dripping faucet surrounded by moss and little tree frogs
that greeted them with their little croaks. In one corner was a
bed that had been fashioned out of several trees that created a
canopy over the top, small buds of white lilies blooming around
       the head.
"What do you think?" She asked and then reached out to catch a
small pixie that had launched itself at Mona.
"Oh come on now Viola, no pulling her hair. She's a friend," she
gently chastised the tiny creature before placing it on her
shoulder. "Sorry, viola gets a bit territorial."
       -fin-
Mona blinked at the words given- the girl barely knew as
introduced to the supernatural world. She was watched as the
girl vanished before her eyes before seeing her up top when she
heard her voice. Mona felt the vines slip around her hands, the
girl gripping them to flush a bit as the ground left her feet.
The thrill rushed through as she got on the thick branch to look
back behind her.”that was fun!” She said with a smile.
She walked in as her eye led around the tree like home. It
looked ripped straight out of a fairy tale with how the place
looked.”it’s beautiful- so much so it’s hard to believe it’s
real. “ said the red head as she neared the sink watching the
little frogs scatter a little as she neared. “Are you able to go
to school or are you stationary? I don’t know much of other
kinds of people.. so I’m learning from what’s actual fact from
fiction.. I’m half ifrit..” said the girl as she played with her
       red hair a little.
       —fin—
Dahlia grinned back happily at Mona saying the ride up had been
fun. "I sometimes have to do it much faster, then it's kind of
like a fun ride at one of those carnivals," she admitted with a
       giggle.
Dahlia reached up to braid her hair as Mona took a few moments
to look around the place and grinned wider at her home being
       pronounced beautiful.
"Well I've not really had a humanized education if that's what
you mean. Since I was young, I've learned about biology, nature
and other things a nymph should know. I do read and know a few
languages, mostly through tutoring and distance learning. I'd
love to go to a real school, but I kind of have to wait. One of
the teacher's is a wizard, he's working on making me a talisman
that'll let me go outside the forest. I'm kind of tied to it
       otherwise," dahlia explained.
Her eyes widened a bit hearing that Mona was part Ifrit and was
       new to the supernatural world.
"I can help you learn about the supernatural side of things,
maybe you can help me get used to the human side," she
       suggested.
Seeing the other play with her red hair, had her itching to
touch it herself. "Can...I braid your hair for you? Unless
that's too forward to ask right away,"
       -----

       ----
Mona listened as the girl explained what she knew and what she
was waiting on. “So you’re really stationary unless someone that
knows magic can help?” Mona questioned a bit.
She saw the girls expression on hearing what she was to nod a
bit.”I don’t mind helping with it- just fair warning- careful
with the words I wish- only reason I found out what I was - is
due to granting them.. but they are quite literal. Like if
someone wanted a million bucks and followed with that- to end up
being trampled by bucks instead of getting money like they
think.” She said flushing. “Once I manage to get control of that
I shouldn’t be a problem.” She said with a sigh.
She heard the nymph ask about braiding her hair.”I don’t mind!
Go ahead.” She said to place her back pack down to find a place
to sit to let the nymph braid her hair.
       —fin—
"well the forest is pretty big and there is a lot to do. But
yes, if there's not any nature around for me to be connected to,
it could be very bad for me. I tried once to leave when I was
younger and nearly died. If I hadn't been found by a faun and
brought back, I wouldn't be here,"
Dahlia couldn't help but gasp a bit hearing how the others
magic could go wrong if the wish wasn't specific enough. "Yikes!
That would be horrible! You'll get better control with more
practice, I'm sure of it!" She said encouragingly.
Dahlia was quite delighted at Mona agreeing to let her work on
her hair. With a slight motion of her fingers, a small loveseat
and footstool were formed by vines so they could sit.
"Do you care what I do with it? Can I add a flower or two?" She
asked as she gently combed out the lustrous red hair with her
fingers while she waited for an answer. "Is there anything else
that you'd like to know? I can talk while I work,"
       -fin-
Mona got a worried look at the idea of her nearly dying. “I hope
so- I want to travel again- I know I got my eye on the desert-
my dad was born there. “ she said with a smile.”he’s a full
Ifrit.” She said with a laugh.
She felt her hair begin to be combed and braided as she felt the
gentle touches.”go wild just as long as you don’t cut it.” She
joked. “Mmm.. do nymphs have parents?… guess just curious how
you guys come into existence.” She said thoughtfully.
       -----
Dahlia felt an odd sensation seeing the worried look on Mona's
face. She'd had few people that worried about her well being
over the years. It would be nice to have one her own age for a
change. As it was, she was the youngest nymph of the forest.
"Oh do you have to wait until you gain better control to
travel?" Dahlia asked. "The desert would be interesting, there
are so many different creatures that lived there. plus there are
oasis' there too. Maybe one day I could go to one,* she
       commented a bit wistfully.
Dahlia laughed at the joke and shook her head. "Oh I wouldn't
dream of cutting this hair." She assured Mona as she started
making small braids in a pattern up both sides of the girl's
head. On the top she pulled the braids into what looked like a
flower on top and added in a few vines and flowers to keep it on
       place.
"Well there are conventional nymphs that produce asexually, when
they are ready they create an offspring, giving it a part of
their own life. That's what my birth mother did. Others will
produce with humans or gods, but that's not for everyone. My
birth mom, Lily passed before I was ten, and my other mom Rose
raised me until was fourteen. Her tree got cut down and the rest
of the nymphs have been teaching me since." She explained. "I
can still feel Lily inside me from time to time even now. I
suppose it's like a memory like humans have,"
Once She'd finished with Mona's hair she pulled a mirror out and
handed it over. "Here, have a look. Do you like it?"

“Yeah, we did for a while till my abilities started showing
itself.” She said before hearing the wistful comment her eye
giving a soft look.”maybe when the wizard comes you can ask for
long term solutions?” She said thoughtfully.
Hearing her speak about how nymphs reproduced felt interesting.
Least till she heard the sad part of the tree being cut down
that was her other mother. “Probably since it came from her.”
She said before she looked at the mirror.”oh! I love it!” She
said with enthusiasm as she checked herself out.”when should you
be able to go to school?” Asked the red head as she continued to
       check out the work.
       —fin—
"ah, so your powers just recently showed up then? There's no
harm in asking, though it's normal for nymphs to live in one
place their entire lives." She explained. "I just happen to be
one of the rare ones that has wanderlust,"
Dahlia was quite pleased to hear how happy Mona was with her
hair. "That's good! Anytime you want your hair done just let me
know. I enjoy playing with your hair," she admitted, her cheeks
       flushing a bit.
"I hope by next week if not sooner. He is awfully busy," she
replied. "Though you could always give me a crash course ahead
of time what to expect and how to interact with others," she
       added.
Dahlia slowly got up and stretched out a bit. "Shall we go
explore the forest a bit? I can introduce you to the fauns, and
maybe some of the other races that live here. We Just have to be
careful to not to bother the grumpy ones, like the swamp
creatures, or the gnomes. They can get a bit prickly,"
       ----
“Pretty much.” Said the half ifrit as she put down the mirror.
“Wanderlust- I can see why being stationary.. “ said the girl to
smile.”I’ll take you up on that offer- normally I throw it in a
ponytail.. big on sports and stuff so I don’t really dress up or
       do hairstyles often.” She said.
“I don’t mind, is there anything you’re curious about?” Mona
asked as she got up herself.”and sounds good to me… and there
really are gnomes? Oh boy… but what do you mean by prickly?” She
questioned as she moved to follow dahlia out to think of how she
       was going to get down.
       —fin—
"I usually watch all the shows about exotic far off places to
make up for that. It helps a bit. I'd love to hear about all
the places you've been. I could work on your hair in return,"
       she suggested eagerly.
She looked Mona over a bit more closely, taking in the other's
fit form. "Well I'm not always big on being girly and dresses
either. Just when I want to look cute," she replied with a wink.
"Uh..well dating, and social things. I haven't really been
around other people my age before. I can get shy at times ..and
       tongue tied," she admitted.
"Oh there are! And trolls, ogres and a giant. Also all kinds of
pixies, garden elves, and the rest of the nymphs. There's water
ones, tree ones and other nature ones," she explained and moved
to grab her bag and a colorful vest that she pulled on.
"You want to go by ground or by vine?" Dahlia asked as she moved
to change into tree bark boots.
Once they were tied up, she moved to open the door. "Mind the
house Viola," she told the pixie before exiting and leading Mona
down to a lower branch of the tree. As she moved, she created
steps in the trunk so Mona would be able to follow.
"What kind of music do you like to listen to?" She asked
       curiously.
       -fin-
“Dating huh?” Said the red head with a small smirk. “I can help
with that and more.” The teen said confidently she smiled a bit
knowing that the girl would be able to keep up and not worry
about a skirt or dress getting caught in things.
“Giants? They exist?” She said in an incredulous tone.”and
trolls are they like.. mean like the story of the goats and the
bridge- or much nicer?” She asked as she went with the
steps.”when I’m not listening to nature, I like rock, if I’m
feeling like being calm- classic.. you?” She asked as she
       stepped with the girl.
       —fin—
"I would really appreciate any help you can give. I've only ever
watched or read about dating. Have you dated a lot?" Dahlia
       asked curiously.
Hearing how surprised Mona sounded had Dahlia grinning as she
laced up her boots. "Oh they do exist. There are only a few that
live in the forest though. As for trolls, the majority of them
are mean and tend to eat humans, but the ones we have living
here are relatively nice. Though if they get offended they may
try and smash people," Dahlia explained.
Dahlia's ear twitched upwards at Mona's mention of listening to
nature, a pleased smile on her mouth. "I have a rather broad
taste, I listen to pretty much everything. Though I really love
Chinese traditional music, and classical music the most,"
Dahlia came to a stop near the end of a branch and called a vine
from the opposite tree. "Might be easier if you grab onto me for
this next part," she suggested looking down at the shorter girl.
       "Maybe my waist?"
Once Mona was holding on, Dahlia grabbed a hold of the vine and
they were swinging over to the next tree. She took a few steps,
grabbed another vine and they took off again. This process
repeated for a good mile through the treetops. Then on the last
tree, the vine lowered them to the ground.
"I thought you meeting the other nymphs first would be best,"
she said and let go of Mona and led the way to a small cove of
trees that had a river going through.
A few moments after their arrival, several nymphs emerged from
their trees to greet them, a few looking Mona over curiously.
"Everyone this is my new friend Mona. She's part Ifrit."
"A friend of Dahlia's is a friend of ours. Greetings to you
Mona. I am Zinnia," the leader of the nymphs spoke up.
The others had varying floral or tree inspired names.
"We'll be back a bit later, I was going to show Mona around to
the fauns and the other creatures,"
       ------
Mona gave a smirk.”I’ve dated once or twice but it never turned
out well later- both didn’t do long distance well.” She said as
       she walked.
Mona’s mouth formed an O as she listened about the trolls.
“Understood- don’t offend or be smooshed.” Said the red head as
she grabbed dahlia. “I don’t mind.” Said the red head as she
held her middle. She made a shout of delight as they swung from
tree to tree. She gave a giggle as they got to the
ground.”sounds good- that was hella fun!” She said to follow the
green haired nymph to meet a group. “Hello, nice to meet all of
       you.” She responded.
“What do you do for fun?” She asked as she peer at the nymphs.
       ----
Dahlia hadn't been too surprised to hear that long distance
hadn't worked with Mona's past relationships. Though it did make
her think that if Mona had a guy or girl that shared a love for
traveling that might help. Most humans seemed to like routine
and lives in one place. If she got the chance to she'd be a
rolling rock, never staying long in one place. Then again there
were so many places she wanted to see!
Dahlia was grinning and delighted to hear Mona's shouts of
pleasure during the trip. Her grin widened at Mona's exuberant
exclamation of how fun the trip had been.
"It's my favorite way to travel," Dahlia replied with pleased
       laugh.
She blinked and glanced at the girl's question of what they did
       for fun.
"Nymphs are world class partiers," she admitted. "Mostly they
rest during the day or do small tasks, but once night comes, the
music, singing and dancing starts and goes on for hours."
Zinnia laughed lightly at this. "Yes, we do like partying..
       especially with the fauns,"
Dahlia's face went a bit pink as she grabbed Mona's hand to lead
her off to the fauns' nearby village.
"Just make sure you don't come here on your own at night. The
fauns can get a bit raucous and handsy," she warned Mona.
"Other things we like to do is create things, like weaving,
pottery, and other craft like art forms. Ah..here we are. Looks
like most are still sleeping," she said giggling seeing the
young fauns sprawled around the sleepy quiet little village.
A curly red head popped out of one of the guys at the sound of
her giggle and a rather handsome faced faun trotted out to greet
       them.
"Dahlia! You're looking cute today! Oh...and you brought a
       beautiful friend with you."
Dahlia chuckled at the young male faun nearly fawning over Mona.
Not that she could blame him. Mona was quite gorgeous.
"This is Mona. Mona, this is Goel. He's a friend of mine. I'm
showing Mona around the forest and showing her the creatures
that live here. You want to join us?"
       ----
Mona lit up at the idea of a party. “So party at night eh? That
sounds like fun.” She said her smile widening. “Fauns?” She had
questioned before seeing dahlia blush, her hand taken to feel
       her own face grow hot.
She almost didn’t hear the warning to grow to attention. “Noted…
how would I contact you?” She asked as she continued to walk. It
sounded like the place was a utopia of artistic endeavors.
Her eye caught the sleeping young fawns her eye softening a
little to hear a faun speak.
His looks made her eye him over, and the way he eyed her made
her blush the more between the hand holding with dahlia and the
       eyes of Goel.
“Nice to meet you..” said the red head as she began to feel a
little shy. She recovered with a broad smile and said.”the more
the merrier as they say. Just so you know I’m half Ifrit and
dealing with how my magic works- whatever you do don’t use the
words- I wish -or it might twist in not so pleasant ways that I
can’t control yet.” She said softly merely wishing to warn the
       guy.
       —fin—
"they can be fun, but some can get to be too much. There are
some parties in not yet allowed to go to, probably for the best
       though," Dahlia admitted softly.
She wasn't going to say it out loud, already a bit embarrassed
to think of the "adult themed" parties the others did without
       her.
"Yes, like from mythology, handsome boys and men with goat
bottom halves," she explained. "Ah, I do have a phone. We can
exchange numbers later if you'd like," she offered, smiling a
bit at the thought of having someone to talk to on her phone.
"The wizard guy said I'd need one so he could contact me,"
Mona couldn't help but glance between Mona and Goel as they were
introduced. It seemed like that Mona was far shyer acting with
Goel than she'd been to her.
Goel grinned broadly at Mona and then caught Dahlia glancing at
       him.
"Ooh part Ifrit? That's cool. I'll come along, just let me grab
some supplies first. I'll make sure not to say that then," he
replied with a wink then trotted back to his hut.
"Do you like boys more than girls?" Dahlia couldn't help but ask
curiously, wondering if she'd been tok quick to take Mona's
       hand.
Goel was back a few moments later, a loose half open shirt and
vest now on, with a satchel slung over one shoulder and a pan
flute hanging on a leather strap around his neck.
"Here, we can full these up at the sweet rose River," Goel said
handing over two waterskins to the girls.
He opened the gate and slide out to join them and noticed the
two were holding hands. His bright green eyes lit up at this and
his smile grew wider. "Ooh..ho..are you two sweet on each
other?" He asked looking at them excitedly.
Mona flushed a brightly at this. "Let's go, if we hurry we might
get to see some of the river folk a d creatures," she said
       trying to change the subject.
"All right now then let's go," Goel agreed easily, his eyes
       shining even more.
       ----
Mona nodded a bit.”alright, we can wait here.” She said before
watching him go. When she heard dahlia ask about her interest
she said.”oh I like both the same, just between two good
looking people it’s hard to not be a bit more shy.” Said the red
       head.
After she saw that goel came back noticed the flute.”sounds
good.” She said to take the waterskin with her free hand to
blush herself.”well she is cute.” Said Mona with a small tighten
of her hand. “So your kind.. is it true you can enchant anyone
or is that a myth?” She asked as she walked with the nymph.
       —fin—
Dahlia got a thoughtful look on her face, recalling that Mona
had been a bit shy when they'd first met. Did that mean Mona
       thought she was good looking?
Her question was answered a few moments later when Mona blushed
at Goel's question and then said she was cute. This has Dahlia's
       face get even hotter.
Goel chuckled, looking rather pleased with their reactions.
"Fauns do have a rather natural charm to start with," he began.
"And a silver tongue," Dahlia interrupted.
Goel chuckled. "We can enchant some creatures, humans for sure.
Other magically inclined, like djinns, ifrit's, or a wizard not
so much. Our music can also tame the wilder races too," he
explained. "Figured if we end up too close to the trolls or
giants my pipes would come in handy,"
Dahlia relaxed a bit, though she did wonder how Mona's human
half might get affected by Goel's enchanting music.
Her worries faded slightly when they neared the wide river,
spying a group of small minnow mermaids and water babies
gathered around the river nymph Xion. The much larger, stunning
spirit was regaling them with tales of his adventures in the
       wild ocean.
"Hello Xion!" Goel called out waving at the stunning white and
       blue haired spirit.
Dahlia giggled a bit as they followed the eager Goel closer.
"Hello Xion, Little ones. Meet my new friend Mona. You'll
probably see much more of her in the future," she predicted.
"Hello Goel, Dahlia, and it's nice to meet you Mona. How are
you liking the forest so far?"
       ----
Mona listened as she chuckled a bit at dahlia’s addition.
“Clearly” muttered Mona as he had called out her attraction to
the girl and how dahlia reacted let her know she was interested
       too.
“Mm so half of me might get a little influenced.” Said Mona
thoughtfully. She tucked the bit of knowledge to the back of her
mind.”it’s a good thing your with us then- “ she said as she
       walked.
She was about to ask another question before they came upon the
River. Her eye widening at the spirit as she felt her breath
       catch.
“Hello. I’m enjoying it so far, I don’t like the indoors much so
I try to get out.” Said the red head.”granted I’m kind of
skipping the rest of my classes.” She said with a small shift of
her eyes going left. “So you travel the ocean? How deep does it
really go?” She asked almost excited. Hearing just the bit of
       the tales had snagged her.
“And sorry for interrupting- it sounded like your story was
getting good!” She said with a smile.
       —fin—
Goel beamed a bit more hearing Mona say it was good he was with
       them.
"That's one of the reasons why I stopped to find Goel. He's
always good in a pinch," Dahlia replied, though she knew it
would inflate his head a bit more.
Goel's chest puffed out a bit more and he shot Dahlia a dazzling
smile. "You two are far too kind. But thank you," he said with a
       slight bow.
Dahlia wasn't all that surprised by Mona's reaction to Xion. The
River spirit was one of the most beautiful and most popular in
the forest, often surrounded by fauns and nymphs alike. Though
he was quite kind and humble despite his good looks.
Xion moved to swim over closer to where the three were and
smiled up at Mona as she replied to his question.
"There is far more to learn from the world around you than there
is in a book. I never heard understood why humans want to stick
themselves into buildings and lose their wonder of the world. I
travel from time to time, but used to do more when I was
younger. It's fathoms deep, I've never managed to go to the
bottom myself. It's far too dark. No need to apologize, why
don't you stay to hear the ending? There's not too much left. If
you're back in a few hours I can share about my time with
pirates," Xion added with a warm smile.
Goel let out a soft sigh, looking quite smitten by Xion being so
close. Dahlia giggled a bit and moved a bit upstream to fill up
       the waterskins they'd brought.
Her head twisted around abruptly when she heard Goel suddenly
       say.
"I wish Xion would kiss me,"
       ----
Mona was well enjoying the talk as she smiled.”really? I
wouldn’t mind! Few adventures I’ve ever had is scaring my
parents when I ah- poofed to go see a ruin.” She said with a
chuckle.”pirates!?! I’m so in!” She said with a smile.
It took a turn when the two little words came out as the girl
realized goel had said the dreaded two words, her ear catching
his words. “goel! What did I say?!?” She said before she would
feel the tell tale sensation of her magic pulling out. It would
grant that wish in form of the poor fawn being pulled into the
river, while it would never force the will of the person- it
       would create a situation instead.
The faun would be pulled into the river, the magic dragging him
down. The redhead yelled.”I told him to not say that! I can’t
control what happens!” She said panicked as she looked at Xion.
       -----
Dahlia smiled, pleased that Mona was enjoying visiting with
Xion. She had the feeling that Mona would definitely be coming
back to the forest when the outside world got boring.
She was up and moving towards Goel, but was too late to try and
grab the faun as Mona's magic pulled him into the deep river
       depths.
Xion's eyes flashed in surprise and shock then was instantly
diving after the faun, swimming down to catch up with the
       flailing panicking faun.
"It's not your fault Mona, Goel's always muttering that, he just
wasn't thinking very well," Dahlia reassured Mona, putting her
hand on top of the girl's shoulder.
It was several agonizing moments later when Xion finally
resurfaced with a limp Goel and set him on the river bank and
       began giving him rescue breaths.
Soon Goel was spitting up water and groaning.
"Silly little faun, the Ifrit warned you her powers twisted
wishes. Next to me you want a kiss...just ask," Xion said softly
brushing Goel's wet hair out of his eyes.
Goel blinked, looking a bit shocked as he slowly caught his
breath. "Do...you... mean that?" He panted out, a hopeful.look
       in his eyes.
Xion made a thoughtful sound and then leaned in to give Goel a
proper kiss. When he pulled back the faun's face was a brilliant
       crimson red.
"Of course I meant it Goel. You might want to dry off before you
head off. So let me finish that story," Xion replied with a soft
       smile.
Dahlia held back a giggle at the goofy smitten look on Goel's
face and moved to help her friend sit up. Xion went on to finish
the story, his blue eyes going back to Goel every few minutes.
Once the story ended he told the three to wait and dove to go to
his underwater cave. He returned with several brilliant colored
seashells. A green one for Goel, a red one for Mona and a
       purple one for Dahlia.
"Just in case you three get into any trouble, or separated. You
can communicate with each other or with me if need be. Just say
the name of who you wish to speak to,"
       ------
Mona felt the gentle hand- she smiled small though, deep down
she still felt guilty. Her eye went to Goel with worry as she
watched Xion give mouth to mouth as she held her own breath.
Relief came to her face to see him wake up. She chuckled at the
spirits words to the faun to turn away to give them privacy to
       kiss.
She enjoyed the story her arms around her knees- her guilt
ebbing away by immersing in the soothing voice of xion’s
       storytelling.
After a bit she waited to look at her red shell to blush a
bit.”kinda reminds me of legend of zelda … only you don’t play a
tune…” she said as her eye went to dahlia. “Thank you..” she
       said with a soft smile.
       —-fin—
From her body language, Dahlia could tell that Mona still felt
guilty. She stayed near her while they waited for Xion to
return. She couldn't help but laugh hearing the comparison of
the shell to the game. "It is kind of like that. I'd be easy
enough to turn the shell into a musical instrument though. Just
       needs a few holes,"
"You're welcome," Xion replied, and reached out to squeeze
Goel's furry leg. "And you ..no more wishful thinking out loud,"
Goel blushed and nodded before slowly standing up. "I'm sorry
Mona, I wasn't really thinking when I said that. Please don't
blame yourself. It's not like you can control what happens. I
can do better controlling my mouth,"
Dahlia gave her friend a doubtful look knowing he was always
wishing for things. "Next time you start, I'll just smack you
       silly,"
Goel chuckled and ran a hand through his damp hair. "Probably
will have to. Shall we head off then? Where were you heading
       next?"
Dahlia thoughtfully tapped her chin as she thought it over. "Oh,
the pixie cove is always a fun place to go, it's on the way to
       the giant's."
Goel's smile fell slightly. "That's also close to the Harpys'
nest. You sure you want to go near them?"
Dahlia couldn't help but shoot an amused look at Goel. "Oh they
won't bother with me or Mona. It's you they'll be interested in.
What, are you afraid of the Harpys' cat calling after you?" She
       teased.
Goel sighed. "Fine...we can go that way. If they try and carry
me off again you'd better stop them,"
       ------
Mona chuckled a bit with dahlia. “Mm guess that would make you
like Saria?” She said comparing the girl to the character. “All
joking aside.. it’s okay Goel, I’m just glad you’re okay.” she
       said with a smile.
She chuckled at dahlias promise to smack him if he uttered those
words. Her eye brow rose.”they all female?” She questioned
       curiously.
She heard Goel mention about being carried off.”I’ll make sure
they don’t.” She said with a smirk.
       —fin—
Dahlia giggled at Mona's comparing her to the character Saria.
"Well I do have green hair like her, so I can see why you'd say
       that,"
Goel couldn't help but glance between the girls, not quite
understanding the reference of they were referring to. "Thanks,
I will have to learn to keep the w word out of my vocab around
you. Especially if Dahlia gets slap happy," he added sticking
his tongue out at the other girl.
"Careful, you don't want to get your face stuck that way,"
Dahlia joked. At Mona's question she nodded.
"Harpies are predominantly a female species. They mate with
other races to have kids. They seem to have taken a liking to
Goel, I think it's the bright red hair,"
Goel let out a groan and shuffled through his bag and pulled out
a hat to pull it over his hair and curved goat horns.
"Yeah it's definitely the hair." He agreed. He relaxed a bit
hearing Mona promise to keep the harpies from carrying him off.
       "I appreciate that."
The three were soon heading off down through the trees and then
down down a hillside towards the pixie town.
Goel motioned them to b quiet when they neared an area filled
with scraggly looking trees and a rocky landscape with a few
       caves that were visible.
"Best to not be too loud, the harpies will hear us,"
       ----
