Worry is a Form of Self Harassment

Inspirational Quote: Worry is the fear we manufacture. Worry
will not bring solutions. Worry distracts from finding
solutions. See it as a form of self-harassment. ~ Kare Anderson
Notes from Lily: When I was in my 20's and living in San
Francisco, worry was my constant companion. I worried about an
earthquake because I lived on the fault line. I worried that
something bad would happen to one of my family members. I
worried that I would never lose weight. I worried that I would
become paralyzed in a car accident. You name it, I worried
about it.
At that time I was a slave to my worries, constantly harassed by
them, especially in the middle of the night when I was alone.
My untamed mind was such a drama queen!
It is with great joy that I can now say that at this time in my
life, I worry very little. I finally got to a point where I
told my untamed mind..no more! If "it" happens, something that I
am challenged by, I'll deal with it, but I'm not going to spend
my time worrying about something that might never happen. As my
worries diminished, my emotional appetites did as well. Nervous
eating is often the result of nervous thinking.
So again, the key is to notice the worry...and use your outloud
voice to talk to it directly. Don't deny it, face it head on.
And ask yourself...can I be sure this is going to happen? If
the answer is no...focus on gratitudes in the moment...the
lightness of appreciation for what you have can drive away the
darkness of phantom worries.
Have a wonderful day...and listen to your
bodies...remember...you signed the contract to up your
ante...take it seriously :)
Much love,
Lily
