Women and Children's Arisakas at the end of WWII

So, got an interesting story from a vendor at a gun show on some
Arisakas with some chopped stocks. So, his story as to why the
stocks were chopped was that near the end of the war the IJA
chopped the stocks of the Arisakas in order for women and
children able to use them. Since at that time it was looking
like the US was about to invade the Japanese mainland.
Now, as far out as this story sounds, I find it to be false.
Just to cover up a shitty bubba hack job. Has anyone here ever
       heard of these occurrences?
