Hungarian LPSZ in-stock at Wideners
By: CLMI04 Date: April 17, 2014, 2:03 pm

They have it marked as Czech but their picture shows Hungarian
lacquer steel case LPSZ. I don't remember Czech light ball
coming in 440 rnd tins (I may be wrong) and the pic clearly
shows Hungarian ammo so I'm assuming they mislabeled it. Anyway,
have at it.

Not the greatest price ever but Wideners shipping is cheap. Plus
Hungarian LPS doesn't show up too often and is pretty decent
stuff.

They didn't remove it from their inventory yet. Maybe they're
expecting another shipment. Tell your friend to give them a call
and ask. They've always been helpful with me over the years.

Update: I received an email from Wideners stating that they
never had Czech or Hungarian 7.62x54r and the ammo was in fact
Bulgarian surplus. It looks like it was made under contract in
the early 1980's for some fellow Communist/Socialist country
that uses the Latin alphabet. The crates and tins were not
marked in Cyrillic but in Latin alphabet letters. The owner told
me he saw LPS and for some reason thought that meant Czech ammo.
That doesn't really explain why they decided to use a picture of
Hungarian ammo for their stock picture though. I have one of the
crates here and it's marked with "contract" and a number and all
other markings that are normally in Cyrillic on the crate and
tin are in Latin letters. Kind of weird. Dated 1982 as well. I
also found a warehouse stock tag stuck to the side that was
dated August 19th 2011. I guess its been sitting over here
stateside for awhile.
