Richard,
Aside from cleaning Soviet grease off of some refurbs I shoot;
my rifles stay the way I got them (other than replacing a
missing interrupter/ejector on one of my M91's). In that matter,
you are in like minded company. Now the fact that hashash is
nuts and running this show is another story all together. ;)

Thanks to all for the welcome! :) In my opinion, the more
avenues for discussion the better.
Vince asks above for some clarification about the purist
philosophy of collecting, and that's a topic I have tackled in
the past and would be glad to address here in the future. The
shortest of possible summaries for right now? It's about
respecting (and preserving) the past and recognizing an old
artifact as what it is, not altering it and pretending that it's
what you want it to be. That in one sentence is the essence of
what I believe.
