Stubborn front sight

I have an 1896 M91 that is a lot of fun to shoot. It shoots low
and to the left. The low part is easy. The front blade is a bit
tight. Stuck more likely I imagine. I'm trying to soak it with
some Kroil. I'm using a punch and hammer as my C clamp idea
failed. Oops. Any ideas?

Back in the day there was a guy named Stan Prophet who made an
Enfield/Mosin front sight tool called the LT-2. Google it and
see if you can find one-not sure if any of them are available.
If you must use a punch and hammer use a brass punch and make
small adjustments. Throw some WD at it.

He just bumped an old thread last summer on Ted's site and said
they are back in production. Here's a link.

looks like the Kroil broke it loose. I didn't have to tap it
that hard to adjust it either. I have a sight tool that worked
on my other M91s. This on was stuck good. lol 118 years old I
guess thats ok.

[/quote]Good to know. Glad to see he turned them over to
someone and got them in production again.
