Arent you a reloader? If not that's a route you could go to
saving your rifle. Slug and the barrel and select bullets of the
       proper (oversized) diameter. I don't reload 8mm but it's a .323
bullet. I have an M1917 I had to get stratgic with, it wouldn't
shoot .308 168 FJMBT so I slugged it and its .3105 so it's close
enough but I had to chase a bullet for it and right now I'm
using a 180(?)gr bullet flat battom.
This rifle wouldn't group worth a shit with -.06 surplus or my
reloads that I was using in my Garand. But once I altered my
tactics and started loading for this one rifle and IT's needs,
       it groups much better.

       I hadn't even thought of that. Yes I do re-load. I should
definitely slug the barrel just to see what it actually is. The
only thing that's going to suck then is finding a mold. I am
going to take it out one more time, set it up at 25, one of my
life-sized targets, and see exactly where it's shooting. I hope
it's not flat lined, but I have a feeling it is. Maybe casting
some bigger bullets would do the trick. Right now, it's just a
re-enacting gun. The only thing I really care about is the fact
that I saved it from certain Bubba-dom.
