       I loved The Lost Battalion, but my close second would be "The
       Trench". It's like a WW1 version of Jarhead, except with a
       little more action at the end. British perspective.

       I tried to watch all quiet on the western front the other
       night.. two things that turned me off
       1. American actors of the '30s acting like '30s americans while
       supposed to be playing Germans
       2. American actors of the 30s OVER ACTING.

       The one from the 70's was a little better. Still some
       overacting, but a little better.

       Passchendaele was a crock of shit. It was all about some douche
       falling for some twat and the ending was just horrible with the
       cross they made. Other than that, it showed the carnage and lack
       of anything living in that battle. Just a big field of craters
       and mud. I agree with your list though up until that point.
