1899 Sestroryetsk

I finally was able to meet up with a fellow collector after work
today and grab a rifle that had been waiting on me for a while.
1899 Finn Sestroryetsk, looks to be a post-war rebuild. It had a
few minor issues that luckily I was able to quickly remedy. It
was missing a handguard and cleaning rod but I had spares, and
the front band screw was broken. I replaced both with a matching
set of type one bands. Also there was a rear sling hanger in the
front spot, I borrowed one from another rifle for these
pictures.
Good bore with a counterbore, Finn-matched bolt, Stock is in
good shape with a large knothole repair. The mag and buttplate
are both scrubbed. Double SA stamped, D stamped on both the
barrel and rear sight base. The tang matches. More photos later,
we're off to visit a friend.

This one had been in the pipeline for a while, just had to meet
up to grab it. Same with yet another balkan. My foray next
weekend will be my last for a bit unless some sales or trades
are made. Unless I find a $150 '07 carbine.
Side note, the conversion we discussed might be on hold for a
bit. The seller was discussing the rifle with JPS and is
reconsidering selling at the moment. :(

Nice! I think the only cheap 07 carbine of the year was sold
already.
