Post a pic of your FIRST Mosin

Thought this would generate some interest. Post a pic of the
one that started the addiction! Here is mine. Its a 1939 Tula
91/30. It also is a fine example of a mistake made by a new
collector. I broke one of the barrel band springs trying to
bend it, instead of by driving it out further with a punch. I
too some quick and crappy pics of several of the random stamps
and cartouches that are found on refurbs. Its force matched
with no cyrillic prefixes. I think I got this in 05 or 06.

Here's mine. A 1925 Izhevsk Ex-Dragoon. Got it while I was still
in country, and picked it up when we got back. 70 Bucks from
AIM. Bought it with my Wasr10. Accurate sumbitch.
This is the one that my retarded 19 Year Old ass Sanded,
stripped, and "re-finished" the stock on. I have since applied a
pine tar/turpentine finish with more satisfactory results. Thank
God the stock is a post war replacement.

I paid 70 OTD for mine too. I've seen that concentric circles
stamp somewhere before too.

Honestly, I couldn't care less. It's probably just a standard
Refurb stamp. I've already destroyed the collector's value of
this thing.

I had a NEW a long time ago without knowing much about it. The
first mosin that I picked up and really got excited about was a
1923 Izhevsk on an 1894 receiver. I stirred up a ton of debate
on 7.62x54r.net about the early 20s recycled receiver rifles.
The postwar stock was very thick and almost clunky feeling on
it. Seems like a hundred stamps on the bottom of the receiver of
this one.

Well here I am and since this is my first post here, I may as
well also show a picture of my first Mosin. It's a 1916 Tula,
and was Finned apparently by AV-3 which is on the stock. when I
got it, I was just buying what I thought was a nice old Mosin
with some patina. I had no idea it was a Finn-used rifle at all.
This rifle has been my financial ruin, lol. I had to research
it, and the more I learned about Finns, the more I decided to
concentrate on them. I figured I might as well try to
"specialize" in the rifles from a small country so that would be
easier to learn. Lol. If I had only known...
So here it is. my first Mosin and my first post here. thank you
all for looking.
