Found this one tonite. Has a Serb crown stamp too looks like.
Old commercial sporter job I think. What a shame.

Well that fucking sucks. The Bear is hard enough to find, but
the fact that is on the original 1904 barrel makes it that much
worse. Damn shame, if it hadn't been for bubba, that could have
been a $800+ rifle.

This is only the second speciman Ive seen, what does "for parts
or restoration only" mean? Wouldnt any surplus rifle be a
canidate for "parts or restoration"? Sorry if stupid question
but it is befuddling me.

Just b.s. to get someone to buy a clunker. Bubba sometimes
befuddles me too.

[/quote] but wouldnt it make it worth less? For parts, you can
make your money back but with some work so you would buy it for
less. And restoration would require parts and labor time which
would cost more money? Maybe im not understanding but just
expressing my thoughts.

There is no restoring that one. It's been chopped. It is now
just a parts gun.

Agreed. Once you lop off the barrel, it's toast. I used to buy
rifles just like it for $50 for parts and trade bait until
recently. Now bubba wants double that or more. I actually traded
one like this to a guy even up for the 91/30 he was going to
bubba because he said it saved him work. All of the spotters ive
seen like this are the same. No import mark, slightly bent bolt,
22 in barrel and an 03 springfield front sight, this ones was
removed. All seem to most likely be Finns, SCWs, or leftover
remmys and NEWs.
