WW2 nazi eastern front v.s. western front equipment?

Was there any differance in the gear that the German were issued
in regards to the front? Like would they have something
different if they went to the eastern front instead of the
western front?all Input appreciated!

Well, the lucky units had more winter clothing, but most didn't.
The gear was mostly the same. The Mp44 was used more on the
Eastern front than the Western later on.

It sort of depends on what stage of the war you are talking
about as far as uniforms and equipment. It also matters if
you're referring to Wehrmacht, SS Gebirgsjager etc. Some
branches had a better "supply" chain and uniformity. To over
simplify if you are referring to a post Overlord 1944 time
period, then no, not a huge difference. Just some subtleties
between each front by then.

Like 1943-44, were more G-43s used on eastern or western?

That's a tough one. In 1943 I would say Eastern, as the Italian
front didn't involve the same manpower on the German side. Post
D-Day and the front in Northern France opening up it's again a
pure guess. I'm not sure if there's a paper trail left showing
which unit was issued how many. Most of what we have to go off
is little tid-bits of "info" and period photo's. Again, not
enough to base something solid off of.
