My street cred

I enlisted in the Air Force at 17 years old, my Mother had to
sign me over, I spent time @ Lackland AFB for Basic Training,
Lowry AFB, CO for Supply tech school. From there I had
assignments to the 51st Supply Sq, Osan Air Base, South Korea.
97th Supply Squadron Altus AFB, OK, and then the 383d Training
Squadron, Sheppard AFB, Texas where I was a military training
leader. I completed that third enlistment and in 2004 separated
and started work as a Department of the Army civilian, I work in
supply and manage the base warehouse at Fort Leavenworth, KS.
During that time at Altus AFB, I deployed to Mombassa, Kenya
with two KC-135R's, the 306th Air Refueling Squadron. We
refueled planes, mostly the AC-130's that would provide CAP and
CAS over Mogadishu every night. I was the sole supply support
for the two tankers. This was Oct/Nov/Dec 1993.

My son and I watched an refueling in progress over our house
earlier today. We're under one end of a tanker's race track
pattern I guess, we see them breaking off and going back the
other way quite a bit here. :)

Cool, I was in the Civil Air Patrol ( you can laugh ) in the
mid-late 1990's. I dicked around in a few KC-135's at McGuire
AFB. Come to think of it I shot my first M16, it was an old Air
Force A1 with the early handguards, while at summer encampment
in 1997. I was only 12 years old. I doubt they're doing that
anymore with the way people flip they're shit over an 8 year old
making a "finger" gun while at school. Later we went to Warren
Grove, an Air Force bombing range, and watched 3 A-10's light up
some old M60 or 48 tank hulls with their 30mm's and 2.75 rockets
while sitting atop an M113 APC. Loud as shit, they let us keep
some empty 30mm shells as souvenirs afterwards. I wish my kids
could have the same opportunities when they're twelve but that's
a pipe dream. Fuck :(

As long as you aren't a crotchety, crusty, condescending old
bastard, everything will be fine. We'll call you gramps until
someone older and more wrinkly comes along perhaps. :)
