1907 Izhevsk on an antique receiver with Romanian stock splice
       By: racerguy00 Date: December 9, 2013, 2:45 pm

Here's another interesting M91 for you. It's a 'balkan' style
import, but it stands out from most. This rifle is technically
an antique, as it's built on an 1896 Sestroryetsk receiver. The
rifle spent part of it's life in Romania, the action now sits in
a Romanian made stock with a uniquely Romanian fore end splice.
The rear portion of the stock is also Romanian made from what I
can tell. It is much denser and beefier in the wrist area than
any of my other M91 stocks. Also, the finger grooves are offset
and positioned with the stock recoil bolt in a way that seems to
be unique to Romanian made stocks. Also, there is a wedge-block
peened in place behind the rear sight spring that is a common
       'balkan' rifle trait.
Quite a while ago I was looking for a 'Romanian' M91 and found
two. This one was listed on Empire Arms' site but was gone
before I was able to grab it. It came up for sale again, but I
didn't realize it was the same rifle I had tried to get before
until after I was in contact with the seller. I got a second
       chance on it. :D

Does anyone have any info on these marks?

I need to find me some more older m91s I have never seen the
arsenal mark like that on the side.

Is that one a recent acquisition? For some reason I feel I have
seen that one before? I could be wrong, but that rifle seems
familiar to me? (Not being sarcastic, it really does look
       familiar)

I picked that one up early in the year from the GB trader. I
posted it on some other forums then.
