I'd say M14. It has a removable box magazine, making it easier
to load and has a higher capacity. 7.62x51 is still plenty
enough to drop a man, and it a little lighter than 30-06. The
full auto capability gives the bigger guys that ability to act
as a squad automatic weapon, and it still utilizes the Garand's
action and is like a refined version of it.

Unlike the garand with the m-14 you can reload mid magazine,
like hash said you can act as support gunner, basicly a .308
BAR. You also don't get the Garand PING.

have to agree with the other fellows. Many for what they stated;
also the m14 should be better its basically an upgraded garand.
